Use

I know what you're thinking. "Did she go there? Did she really say that?"

Oh yes. I did.

The Salsa is one of We-vibe's best creations. Along with Tango, I think they're probably some of the best Clitoral Vibes out there. This discreet vibe is perfect for a lot of situations. The pointed tips allows for pinpoint, direct stimulation. It can be used for foreplay and teasing on the nipples, breasts, tummy, and more. Ladies might find the Salsa to be a star of their toy collection. The vibrations offer both power and multiple patterns, which is sure to please the majority of clitorises.

Salsa can be inserted to stimulate the entrance of the vagina, but it is small and would be awkward to use for extended vaginal play. Anal play would be downright dangerous, since the Salsa is small and lacks a flared base. It would be one of the toys you could easily lose inside your anal cavity, especially if the vibrations were on. Still, men can find pleasure from using the tip to stimulate the P-spot externally.

Salsa is a very reasonably priced toy for what it offers. It is easy to travel with, is waterproof, and quiet given its strength. It is a great option for those who live with others or don't have the privacy they wish they had. This toy can be that first long-term toy purchase for anyone who is ready to upgrade their toy collection. Salsa is great for any level of experience due to all of its great qualities.

Material / Texture

The Salsa is made mostly out of plastic and some silicone. The base and button are coated in white silicone and the rest of the toy is shiny, smooth plastic. Silicone rates a 10 on the safety scale, and plastic rates an 8. Both materials are hypoallergenic, latex/phthalate free and are made of food grade materials. They are also non porous, so bacteria cannot live inside the toy.

The texture is doable for anyone, since there isn't any. If you need, you can always add a little lube (best bet water based) to make Salsa glide where you need. Anyone can use and enjoy Salsa, regardless of experience, both beginner or advanced. If you are looking for a toy with texture, Salsa won't be for you.

There is no overt smell or taste to Salsa.

Salsa is unyielding and solid. She will not bend or shift from where you put her (so long as you hold the toy well during use), thus is can be great for firm, pointed stimulation.

Design / Shape / Size

Salsa's design is Simply Sexy, and the color options add to it (especially in fire engine red). The shape is simple and takes on the tapered design of most vibrators. The toy isn't realistic to a penis other than being phallic. Still, Salsa is best used as an external clitoral vibrator or as something to tease the entrance to the vagina.

Since external stimulation and discretion were key for the making of Salsa, it makes sense that she is on the small side. The toy is only a bit larger than my middle finger. She measures at 3.5 inches long with an insertable length of 3 inches. It's not a length most ladies would choose if thrusting or internal stimulation was the main purpose here. If you have a very shallow G-spot and are good at grasping smooth, small things, this could work for you (too awkward for most ladies though).

Again, the qualities of Salsa are for everyone since size doesn't rule out anyone (except size queens). In terms of discretion, Salsa is quite discreet. With a blanket thrown over and the door shut, you won't be heard even if the toy is on high. I say it is 2 Bees on High but can become 3 if the vibrating plastic makes contact with anything hard, like a ring on your finger. Even if you share a room and can't have time to yourself, you can take Salsa in the shower/bath with you.

Salsa is easy to travel with. You can bring her in the travel pouch she comes with. Take care that she doesn't get jostled around because she could accidentally turn on.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Salsa has one button on the base. It is a push button that does everything. The first push turns the toy on the first vibration setting. You'll also see a little ring of lights around the base of the toy. The will change depending on what setting you have on. For example, more lights will, well, light when on a higher setting. They will also flash along with the pattern the toy is using.

Each button press cycles the toy through its patterns. It will keep cycling with a press until you hold the button down. That will shut it off.

Salsa has 8 Settings. They are:

1. "Low" Vibration: 3-4 Vrooms
2. Medium Vibration: 4 Vrooms
3. High Vibration: 5 Vrooms (oh yes, I went there)
4. Feels like 4, I don't notice a difference: 5 Vrooms
5. Pulses, slower pulses than faster, repeat: 4 Vrooms
6. Rollar Coaster 2 - 4 Vrooms
7. Just Fast Pulses: 3 - 4 Vrooms
8. 3 long pulses, than short pulses: 3 - 4 Vrooms

If you hit the button again, Salsa will turn off.

Salsa does not have a memory, so when she shuts off and is turned back on, she'll always start on the same setting. The button is easy to press and she's easy to use. Salsa has a magnetic charger with two little metal nodes at the base on the sides of the button. It can be completely submersed without worry. It can be a great show or bath player.

Also, this toy is strong. The vibrations are deep, rumbly, and travel. Unless you have a clit o' steel that will only work with the hitachi, this will work for you. Honestly, I would call this toy 5 Vrooms, but there is dissension with this idea because 5 is considered hitachi strength. Personally I think the hitachi is a 7+ in vrooms, so I will assign it 5 Vrooms (I did review Tango and gave it 4 Vrooms, I would also assign it a 5 since I broke the popular rating model).
    • Multiple settings
    • Powerful
    • Rechargeable

Care and Maintenance

Care is a breeze. You can use soap and water, wipes, or toy cleaner. You could even leave it soaking in the sink if you wanted. Overall, Salsa doesn't need hard core cleaning since it is utterly smooth and will probably be used externally most.

I would not recommend using silicone based lubricants since the base button is made of silicone. It's also stated in the instruction guide.

Once dry, Salsa can be stored in the pouch she comes in. The pouch will easily fit the charger and the toy. To charge, you'll notice it has 2 parts: the bulb-like part that magnetically fits onto the base of Salsa, and the power cord that hooks on to the magnetic bulb. When charging, the bulb will have a yellow-orange light. When it is done charging, the light will be gone. It takes about an hour or so to charge and the charge seems to hold fairly well.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Packaging is nice. We-vibe Salsa comes in a cardboard, oblong box. Open that to reveal a tray... hell, I'll just show you:

The pouch it comes with is great for long term storage. It would make a great gift for anyone. Instructions are included in about 7 different languages.
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

Okay: By Now I finally own Both the Tango and Salsa and now you're asking...

Which one should I get?

It all boils down to 2 things: tip preference and color preference. Tango has a slanted, flat tip. Salsa has a symmetric, pointed, tapered tip. Overall, I think the Salsa will appeal to more users and is more universal, but I still think both toys are amazing.

I personally prefer the tango, but this is probably because it was the first one I got (thus I had more bonding time). Everything else is the same: motor, materials, qualities, and so on. If you don't care much for the tip and think you'd like both, then go with color. Like bold colors, go Salsa. like pastels? Then go Tango.

How does it stack up against the other Clit Vibes you've tried?

At this point I have tried (only counting discreet vibes that are waterproof and rechargeable):

Tango
Salsa
MiMi
Bliss
B Curious

That list is also how I rank them. Yes, I know everyone praises MiMi as the clit vibe king, but I think Tango and Salsa are better. They hold their charge for longer and seem to last longer between uses. If I don't use MiMi for over a week, she's practically dead, which can be sad. However, MiMi has a very luscious, amazing silicone coating. So if you don't like plastic that much, You'll probably prefer MiMi. It also depends on if you like pinpoint stimulation, because Salsa and MiMi are better on that front.

Bliss is more awkward in terms of control and doesn't have a magnetic charger, but instead a resealable port, which can worry some. I think it NS Novelties comes out with a second generation of Bliss, it could be amazing and a serious contender.

Bcurious, while a great, cute look, doesn't have the most practical use and can be awkward as well.
