My favorite way to liv

The liv is an excellent vibrator. It is worth every penny despite the issues I have with the controls. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a starting vibrator or a multipurpose vibrator that is quiet, pretty and is obviously good quality.

Pros:
quiet, pro g-spot, p-spot, and clitoral, easy to use
Cons:
difficult to hold onto once lubed up, controls easy to accidentally hit

extremely useful review

Use

The liv is a well designed vibrator. It can stimulate almost any part of you, from clitoris to g-spot to p-spot. This toy is excellent for women, men, and anyone in between.

The liv has a lot of possibilities for use. I think it is very useful for learning to squirt (you know, female ejaculation) due to the gentle curve, solid structure and easily gripped design. I've found that it is easy to use on myself or to have my partner use on me. It really is an everyday use item for me. It's so quiet, I'd say it can be used discretely almost anywhere and is excellent for people who share rooms or have thin walls.

Material / Texture

The liv is made of silicone and plastic. The silicone is smooth and never too cold. It has a friendly smooth, soft texture, despite the very solid construction. You have to use silicone friendly lubes or you'll ruin this expensive vibrator in no time.

The plastic part at the bottom where the controls are located is a little awkward as it is easily made slippery from lube and bodily fluids, so making sure you've got a good grip when things get slippery is important.
    • No odor
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The shape of the liv is particularly versatile. The curve allows for easy access to g-spots and p-spots. I really love being able to use it when my partner isn't home because it allows me to reach places I usually deem his job. The tapered end allows for direct clitoral stimulation, but it is wide enough throughout the shaft that you can easily vibrate the whole area gently or roughly as you see fit.
    • Ergonomic

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls of the liv are maybe the most frustrating part of the design. They are located where you will usually be gripping the vibrator, causing you to often change the pattern or strength of the vibration unintentionally. The controls themselves are very intuitive and easy to use. Up and down changes the pattern, side to side changes the intensity.

One of the reasons I was first interested in the liv was how quiet it was. I went to a local fetish shop and was looking at vibrators. When they told me it was on and I couldn't hear it a foot away, I was very impressed. It gets slightly noisy at it's highest setting, but it still beats almost every other vibrator I've seen in terms of silence.

Be very careful cleaning the liv as it is not water proof and I have almost broken it in the past getting water in it while trying to clean it.

The fact that it is rechargeable is extremely handy, especially when strapped for cash. Batteries are just too expensive to have to buy every few days, while a rechargeable vibrator can even be discretely charged in a car with a converter.

The maximum vibration isn't actually all that strong, but the design definitely makes up for that. If you use it as a g-spot stimulator with a stronger vibrator for your clit, you can easily have both vaginal and clitoral orgasms!
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Rechargeable

Care and Maintenance

The liv is easy to take care of. Just make sure you're using silicone friendly lubes and are not drowning it in water when cleaning it as it will break. It can be used with a condom to help with keeping cleaning to a minimum, but the condom doesn't always fit snugly.

Personal comments

I originally received this toy as one of my first presents from my beau. I didn't use it much at first because I was nervous using vibrators and was unfamiliar with using them to achieve orgasm. Several months after getting the Liv, I got a vertical hood piercing that made it difficult to masturbate how I was used to. The Liv allowed me to stimulate my clit without irritating the piercing. I have since started using vibrators to good result and have learned how to achieve vaginal orgasm, something I owe to the liv and a dedicated boyfriend.

Great review! I've been curious about liv, but unsure because it has such mixed reviews. The shape does look awesome for g-spotting! I might just take the risk and get this. Thanks for all the useful info!

  • Liv settings
    • I have the Liv and find all the interval settings to just be annoying! I use it strictly on the regular constant vibration setting. What's your favorite Liv setting?
    • Roller coaster is a really nice pattern

  • Liv strength like the siri?
    • I have the siri and I love it, and I was wondering if this has the same strength/depth as the siri?

  • Toy Colors
    • Looking at the new Lime Green color of LELO's Liv, I'm very close to buying it, just because it's such a kick ass color. Anybody else have a soft spot for nicely colored toys?

Gigi will be my next purchase, and I think the dusty rose actually looks really pretty, but now there's bright blue...lol, I'm torn.
    • Blue, green, and orange are my favorites. I prefer the "non-natural" coloring :-). Even if it's shaped like a real penis, it should be day-glo purple or somesuch :-)
    • I'm that way too. I like non-natural colors for toys. That is a kick ass color, that green. The pink Gigi does look pretty, but I also like how bright the turquoise is too! My next big buy will probably be a Gigi too, it just sounds so amazing. :)

  • The Liv or the Gigi. Both by Lelo
    • I've been hearing a lot lately about the Gigi. I haven't paid much attention because I absolutely love my Liv. I flipped back and saw that they are the same price, same company and only slightly different design. Does anyone actually have both? The Liv has been my all time favorite vibrator for a long time.
    • I actually have the Liv (though I haven't written up a review yet), the Iris, and the Elise. Honestly, and I hate to say it, but the Liv is probably my least favorite of the bunch. It's still an excellent vibe, but it's missing the delicious texturing of the Iris and the g-spot magic of the Gigi. If you like Lelo's products, I'd say the Gigi is definitely worth checking out!

Er, Elise=Gigi. I really shouldn't attempt to type before my morning coffee. *blush*
