I was a vibrator virgin, but then I bought Jenna’s Velvet Jewels. When the package arrived, I ripped it open and was slightly disappointed with the packaging, but once out of the package the vibrator was cute. The jewels look better in person, and the vibrator did not look intimidating.

Immediately, I tried it out. I didn’t use lube because my boyfriend thought I was wet enough. I have learned my lesson now. We are both newcomers to the world of sex toys. For the second try, I used a nice water based lube. For my first real experience with a vibrator, it was amazing.

The texture was very smooth and soft, and the jewels were a good handle. The base was slightly awkward, and I could not keep the speed constant. That could just be my inexperience. I was afraid it would be too loud, especially on high. Thankfully, when inserted and under a blanket no one else can hear. When out in the open, it is slightly loud.

My next experiment was to try it in the shower and see if it was really waterproof. Unfortunately, I did not remember to take the batteries out from before. So when I tried to turn my vibe on it was dead. Always remove the batteries before storage. It sucks to have a dead vibe. Once I found new batteries the shower trial continued.

Not surprisingly, in the shower with the water on, the vibe was nearly silent when inserted. Even my roommate in the next room could not hear. Dorms have very thin walls. It worked great in the shower, and after inspection proved to really be waterproof.

Overall, I would have to say that Jenna’s Velvet Jewels is a great vibrator for a newbie to the sex toy world. I cannot say if it would be good for those who are more experienced. If you are looking for your first vibrator, then I definitely recommend this one with 5 stars.
