Use

The Orion is part of the Bottle Rockets line of vibrators from Evolved Novelties. It’s a traditional vibrator, however it has a really unique shape. You can use it internally or externally, whatever feels good for you. It can also stimulate other areas of the body if you enjoy sensory play. The base is slightly flared, so be careful about using it anally if you choose to use it that way. There is an O-ring around the battery compartment, however it is very thin, so I believe this toy is only splash proof.

Material / Texture

The Orion is made of smooth hard plastic with a velvety texture. It has some drag to it, so a little drop of lube will greatly help. All lubes are compatible with this material, which is nice.

Depending on how much stimulation you need, you may be able to hit your G-spot with this toy because of the bulged head. There are eight little grooves that go all around the vibrator, but they really can’t be felt during use.

Design / Shape / Size

The Orion is similar in shape as an hourglass. The head is slightly pronounced, leading to a narrower neck, and then it gets larger towards the base. The shape is not at all difficult to insert.

It is about the size of a pocket rocket, so it is really discreet. It is 4 ½” in length, with an insertable length of 3 ¼” inches. The circumference is 3 ¼”, so the size is non-intimidating. This toy would be a really good start for beginners just getting into the world of sex toys.

Functions / Performance / Controls

It is operated by only one push button, located on the base. There are three modes of steady vibration: low, medium, and high, and pressing the button again will turn it off. It is really quiet, so there’s no chance of it being heard through a closed door.

The vibrations are moderate, but very buzzy and high pitched. The vibrator starts off on high for about a second when I turn it on, so that is a little fault you might want to be aware of. The power is actually quite good for a toy that is powered by only one AA battery, not included. Just twist off the base of the toy, and insert the battery pointy side first, and it is ready to go.

Care and Maintenance

You can gently rinse it with warm water and soap, or your favorite toy cleaner. You can also sterilize it with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

The button can easily be accidentally pressed, so it would be a good idea to keep the battery stored separately. The Orion can be kept in its cute little bottle on display, or it can easily be stored because of its small size.

Packaging

Evolved never fails to impress me with their packaging. The Orion is sealed inside a little bottle that is great for storage. The cap is realistic, made of metal, and jagged like a beer cap. However, you open the bottle from the bottom. Just twist off the base, and twist off another little band that holds the vibrator in place. I find the process to be quite annoying, so I just took out that extra plastic loop that holds the base of the vibrator in place. Without the little loop, the Orion rattles around, but it doesn’t bother me since I don’t move the bottle very much. The bottle is only 5 1/2" in hight, so it can be kept anywhere that is convenient for you.

Experience

When I was little, I was obsessed with anything astronomy related. Who knew I’d end up with a vibrator named after a star? The vibrations are a little too buzzy which tend to numb me, so I don’t use this one very often. However, it is really cute, and perhaps more of a novelty item which I am very glad to have.

Follow-up commentary
It's a neat idea but this just wasn't working out for me, so I got rid of it. I guess I'm just too picky with the type of toys I play with these days.
