No place for it in my heart

I really wanted to love this little heart, but I could not. Not one bit. This toy has some great ideas behind it, but the end result is lacking. Loud, not enough power, buzzy, lacks information, and makes my fingers numb. It has way too many seams - it is exactly what you should guess from the price: cheap. I don't recommend it to anyone unless the money is burning a hole in their pockets.

Use

It is one cute little vibrator form Doc Johnson’s Mood series. Cute, but cheap looking and not nearly as much fun as I was hoping for, more buzzy than rumbly. From the design I would say it is a clitoral vibrator, but no instructions arrived to explain anything any further.

It has an ergonomic design that fits in the palm very nicely, but it can be used as a general massager too. Keep in mind that it was intended for external use only so do not try to insert it anywhere, especially not the anus as it has no tapered part that would stop it from getting lost.

The toy is big enough to be kept in place by your legs, enabling hands-free fun time. It is rather loud so do not use it when you fear being overheard. Not waterproof, do not plan on taking it to the shower or tub. Not for size queens (obviously as it is non-insertable). Not for those who like extra strong vibrations.

It recharges with USB port, which makes it ideal for traveling as you would not have to carry extra batteries and chargers.

It is very versatile. You can use it pretty much on any body part and handing it over to your partner is also fun. He found it was nice for holding it against his balls.

I would only recommend it to beginner toy users, as the shape is cute and non-intimidating, and it can be used various ways, and it is not that expensive. However there are certainly better beginner toys on the market too. For advanced users it will definitely not add anything new, unless they want a new item in the collection.

Material / Texture

It is made of plastic; the safety of the material is 8 out of 10. It has a very faint plastic smell, but you can only smell it if you press your nose right up against it. It is firm, ridged and non-porous, so you can apply as much pressure as you want to but it has no give. It is latex and phthalate free.

The surface has a velvety coating for finish which makes it extremely nice to handle, but every touch from your finger leaves an oily-watery smudge on the surface of the toy(so your fingerprint will show from the natural moisture of your skin). It retains this velvety coat even after washing and drying. You want to keep it away from scratchy, hard surfaces as it can easily scrape off the finish. The surface is very smooth, so those who have problems with texture can use it too. The only ‘texture’ the toy has is the button that turns it on/off and the seams running around the removable bottom (you have to remove it to charge) and around the circumference of the toy. In my eyes those make the toy look cheaper.

The surface has a very slight drag (depends how wet your skin is) but some lube can take care of that.
You can use any kind of lubricant with it (water-based, oil-based silicone-based.)

Design / Shape / Size

The toy has an ergonomic design and it fits in the palm really well. It is heart shaped, which makes it cute and very versatile. For more general stimulation the curvy upper part can be used, but as the toy conducts vibrations all over its surface the pointed end can be used for more focused stimulation. It has a lot more girth than it would be obvious from the pictures. It would fit into a 7cm x 8cm x 4cm box. (2.8 x 3.6 x 1.6 inch). Length: 3" Diameter: 2" Weight: 0.3 lb.

The design is discreet, and does not scream sex toy, but I would not leave it out.

The weight distribution of the toy is unbalanced, as the lower half is nothing but a cap over a USB recharger. This does not really cause any problems as there is a good grip on the toy thanks to the shape. The lower cap has two little hollows that are supposed to serve for the removal of the cap. It took me five minutes trying to force it off, pressing, twisting, pulling, etc. It would not budge. In the end I worked my nail under the seam and that is how I managed to pull it off. It came off easily that way.

The USB port is in the very middle of the toy – a very bad design in my opinion, as all the plastic around it blocks the other USB ports nearby. On a laptop where there are only 2 ports it would only fit into the upper one, because of the thickness of the toy, but it covers the other port too. So unless you have an USB divider forget the pen drive, mouse or camera while charging it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

It has only one control button. You can turn on the toy by pressing it, and keeping it down for 4 seconds or so. This is a useful travel lock, so if it is merely bumped into something it will not turn on. However I would have been very grateful for a description to tell me that.

button

There are 7 functions, and you can change between them by repeatedly pressing the control button.

The 7 functions:
1. _________ (1 vroom, 1 bee) kind of rumbly, but weak
2. -------------- (2 vroom, 3 bee) moderately buzzy
3. [b|--------------] (3 vroom, 4 bee) very, very buzzy
4. _-[b|-]-_-[b|-]-_-[b|-]
5. --- --- --- ---
6. - - - - - - - -
7. - - --- - - ---

My biggest problem with the functions was that higher intensity did not mean more power. It meant faster, higher frequency, buzzier. The vibrations at level 1 are not enough to provide real stimulation, but already can cause an itch hand. Level two could be ok, but moderately buzzy and it would definitely cause a sore hand. Level 3 - I would not allow close to any of my body parts.

The toy has a 4-hour playtime before running out of juice and requiring recharging.

As the motor is in the upper part the vibrations are stronger there, but they are well-conducted.

The toy turns off the same way it is turned on, keep the button pressed for a long time. You cannot turn it off by accident, the button has a 7F pattern on it that you can feel, even if you need to grope the toys for your life. And yeah, it needs some pressure to work - I don't mean it is hard to turn off, I mean it needs more than what you need to just hold things.

This turn off/on method could serve as a safety lock, as there is just no way that something would hit the toy the right angle for the right time with enough pressure by accident. If you are still worried, carry it in its box, and it will be impossible.

The button is easy and comfortable to reach with your thumb, but placed in a way it would be hard to hit by accident.
    • Hard to figure out
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

According to description you can clean the toy with soap and water, however, as it is not waterproof, I would stay away from the sink and use some wipes. It is not boil-able, not dishwasher compatible, and not bleach-able. You do not need to use talc for storage.

You need to recharge it after 4 hours worth of use. Some kind of indicator of when it is fully charged would be nice to have. It recharges with an USB port, as mentioned above, and the design causes smaller-greater problems with it.

You can store it in it's box, but if you don't have a lot of room to spare even a cloth sack would do. As it is a firm toy, it would not be easy to damage it.

You can use any kind of lube with it: water-based, oil-based, silicone-based, none of them damages it.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging looks really cool at the first blink - a trendy, colorful boy that announces what the toy is.
For those who did not read the description of the toy properly (looks away whistling) there is a drawing of an USB port to make things clear without long explanations. The box is decorated with swirls and colors, and in general it looks very cute and very attractive. It also tells the reader it’s a vibe inside so I would not call it discreet.

The back contains a lot of information about the product:

However it is too big. Like way too big, the toy could fit inside twice if not three times. It may not be an important thing to most, but I have a rapidly growing collection of toys and free space is something important to consider.

The inside of the box contains a see-through plastic holder that is molded to the toy's shape for secure and easy storage.

plastic holder

What my real problem was, however, that the toy was packaged without any buyers guide and some things were not that obvious or easy to figure out. I kept the operating button down, but not long enough, so I had thought it needed charging, but nothing on they would indicate if it did and for how long. Also it would have been nice to know if you can just charge a bit and take our of the PC and use, then continue the charging, or you had to do all the charging at once.

You can use the box for storage if you wish, but it is made of paper so you cannot pile too many things on it and it takes up a lot of room. As the toy is firm and ridged, I would probably put it in some cloth sack.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Very informative

Experience

Personally it could not bring me to orgasm – the low speed setting was too low for my taste. The medium made my fingers go numb and it was already quite buzzy. The head, the curvy part, had way too big of a surface for stimulation and the point wasn’t strong enough. The noise was so loud I was afraid someone would ask me any minute what I am doing.

I think it is an extremely cute, but it would need more power, lower vibration frequency, a padding of soft material for the fingers to prevent numbness, a LED that signals battery charge and a users guide. An added pouch would be nice.

None of these are good things, but what I find unforgivable is the lack of a guide - because it would not require any extra input or design change.
Follow-up commentary
I gave it a few more tries, but this little thing is not growing to my heart. It's cute. It looks lovely. But it is too buzzy and not pinpoint enough for me, it is definitely not getting more attention from me.
