Not ideal for your lady bits, but lovely for your behind!

There are better lubricants for vaginal intercourse but is definitely worth the purchase for anal sex and will likely become your go-to product for its slickness, longevity and unobtrusive neutral sensation.

Use

Pink lubricant is an excellent every day product that will work for most women, with partners or toys. Though designed with vaginal penetration in mind, I find that it is better suited to anal sex. Very slick, thin and long lasting it is an ideal product for anal penetration. Other products marketed for anal sex often include numbing or 'relaxing' properties that are meant to make the experience more enjoyable, but for some women these sensations can be unpleasant. Pink can meet your needs for an anal lube with the added benefits of Aloe Vera and Vitamin E which moisturize- because the anus does not have its own natural lubricant, this can be a great benefit.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lubricant has a consistency very similar to vegetable oil. It will drip and slide along hands, fingers, toys or any other smooth surface. It is easy to pump out of the bottle, but your hands will get slippery so it can be problematic if you choose the Italian glass packaging. The feeling, almost greasy, will linger on skin; often requiring more than one thorough soapy wash.

Taste / Aroma

Pink lubricant has no discernible scent or flavor in the bottle or on the skin, however if you don't thoroughly cleanse after use of this product you may notice a slight and somewhat sour smell on the genitals, possibly due to the mixture of sweat and natural lubricants ruminating with the silicone.

Performance

One of the best qualities of this lube is its lasting power. No reapplication was needed during vaginal intercourse and it certainly could have kept on going if necessary. On the flip side, it can be difficult to wash off. For organic and gentle soap users it may take you two to three washes to feel adequately clean, this is definitely not a 'wash off with a warm damp cloth' kind of lube. If you don't have a bath available to you right after sex, you may find that the mix of sweat, your own natural lubricants and Pink produce a faint sour smell.

Packaging

Pink lube is sold in both plastic and Italian glass bottles with easy-to-use pump tops. Both look feminine, discreet and attractive on a bathroom counter or dresser. It will blend in amongst perfume and other beauty products without a second glance, so it is ideal for a girlie girl or the woman who appreciates privacy or elegance. One negative point for the glass packaging is that while the glass is thick, if it knocks into another glass bottle it may shatter without much effort, because of this it is not suitable for travel. If it spills on something like a bathroom counter or dresser, you will need some sort of household cleaner or detergent to get rid of the slick feeling it leaves behind. If you happen to spill on your clothes or bed sheets, it will certainly take more than one wash to remove the stain unless you are able to use bleach, which expedites the cleaning process. The spill, when dried, will resemble an oil stain.

Special Features

Pink is enhanced with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera, both of which moisturize the skin. This particular Pink product does not offer any additional sensations such as warming, cooling or tingling.

Personal comments

For women that may be more prone or sensitive to UTI's or other infections, because this can be so difficult to wash off and require lots of soap to do so, this may not be an ideal choice for you for vaginal intercourse. However, I still highly recommend it for anal intercourse. It has a simple and understandable glycerin-free ingredient list that you can feel good about.

Experience

I personally have difficulty producing enough of my own natural lubricant for intercourse, as well as a structural anomaly (a septum leading to two separate cervices and, ultimately, two separate uteri) so an additional generous amount of lubricant is an absolute necessity. With Pink lubricant we would need roughly six pumps from the glass bottle to last an entire session. When finished I immediately need a towel to clean off as much excess as possible before going directly to the shower. With warm to hot water and a mild tea tree oil based soap it took, on average, two washes to feel clean and it was always necessary to wash between the cheeks as well because it's thin consistency makes it prone to dripping. It's not a five star experience for vaginal intercourse, but when used for anal instead it makes the initial entry a dream. Without the 'relaxing' ingredients that a lot of especially-for-anal lubes have, it's easier to fight the sensation of needing to use the bathroom and get to the pleasure.

  • What toys are not safe with silicone lubes?
    • Venus Fable
I heard that certain lubes can't be used with certain toys. Can someone tell me how this works?

Hi Venus - basically, silicone lube and silicone toys are not compatible because they react with one another (silicone may also leave stains on bedsheets and upholstery), but water-based lubricant is fine with any material and usually won't stain anything.

Why would anyone use silicone-based then, you might ask. Silicone-based tends to last longer and not dissolve in water (great for a jacuzzi quickie), whereas water-based is easily washed away or absorbed, which means it won't be as effective as silicone-based over long sessions. Silicone-based also has a nice silky feel, which some people prefer.

      Hope this helps!
    • Other considerations: Silicone lube should not be used with cyberskin or jelly toys, either, as it will melt them. When using lube with condoms or anything containing latex, avoid lube with any kind of oil.

Basically, it's a good idea to stick to water-based lube for use with any kind of toys!
