Object of Lust

The Lust is a well-made, affordable, ribbed vibrator. It would be perfect for anyone who knows they enjoy textured toys, and also for those who have never explored texture and would like to try it out.

Pros
Lots of texture (if that's something you enjoy), waterproof, multiple speeds, nice size, packaging.
Cons
Lots of texture (if that's something you don't enjoy), vibrations could be stronger.

Use

Lust is designed for vaginal penetration. It has no flared base so it's not safe for anal use. You could also use it on the clitoris, but you would not be taking advantage of it's main feature - the texture. I think it would be best to use this toy on yourself because it could be painful if a partner thrust it harder or faster than you prefer.

Material / Texture

This toy is made from hard, ABS plastic with a velvety surface. It has lots of ridges that add intense stimulation when it is thrust in and out of the vagina. More advanced users who know they love texture will enjoy this toy. It could also be an affordable way for a beginner to see if they like intense, hard textures before investing in something more expensive like a glass or metal toy.

Design / Shape / Size

Lust is 7 1/4" inches long, with 5 3/4" inches of insertable length. It is 1 1/4" inches wide but feels a little larger because of the hard material. It is filling without being too big for me. The straight shaft comes to a fairly flat end. Some people prefer a tapered tip for ease of insertion, but others will appreciate that there is no point to poke your cervix. It is not discreet in design, it looks like a vibrator and can't be disguised as something else.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There is a push button on the base of the toy that controls the 3 levels of vibration. There are no pulsations or other functions. The button is easy to use, but it's also pretty easy to bump the button and change the setting. Every time I screw on the cap I accidentally turn it onto the low setting. It's quiet as long as the batteries aren't rattling around. It comes with a piece of card in the compartment, but I threw it out. I ended up putting another piece of paper around the batteries to stop the rattling. Evolved says that all their vibrators are waterproof, but the other ones I've tried from them leaked. The Lust seems to truly be waterproof, and no water leaked in when I submerged it.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

ABS plastic is non-porous, phthalate-free, hypo-allergenic, latex-free, and a food grade material. This toy can be easily cleaned with soap and water and since it's waterproof you don't have to be careful with it. You can also wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol. It can be used with any type of lube.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The Lust comes in a metal tin that is great for storage. It has a foam insert with a cutout to hold the toy in place. It's not discreet though, since there is a clear plastic window in the lid and some information about the toy printed on it.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

This is the first textured toy that I've tried. I found it a little too intense, and it could actually be painful at times. When I used lots of lube and went slowly I enjoyed the unique feeling. It's the kind of toy that I would use occasionally when I want something different. I use the Lust without the batteries in it, as a dildo. I didn't find the vibrations added much since the feeling of the ridges overwhelmed them. Based on this experience I don't think I will buy any highly textured toys made from hard materials. I would like to try something softer like silicone though.
Follow-up commentary
This vibrator is still working perfectly, but that might be due to the fact that it hasn't gotten much use since I wrote this review. The texture irritates the opening of my vagina and the vibrations aren't strong enough for me to use it as a clitoral stimulator.
