Oh Gigi, Orgiastic Bliss

I love this toy. This is one of the best toys I own in terms of its ability to produce mind-blowing, full body orgasms from clitoral stimulation. The toy is incredibly beautiful, well designed and high quality. It was well worth the money in terms of the pleasure it's given me from the clitoral orgasms.
Published: December 26, 2011
Pros:
Incredible clitoral stimulator, extremely beautiful and high quality, simple controls, rechargeable.
Cons:
Not waterproof, handle was too short making it a mediocre g-spot stimulator.

Use

This toy is specifically designed for use on the g-spot. It also works exceedingly well as a clitoral stimulator and personally, I find it works better for this purpose. I will mention that I found this toy to be too short in terms of length for it to give me a long enough handle to allow me to apply the amount of pressure I need to induce a g-spot orgasm. However, I feel that the length was a problem for me because my vaginal canal is sharply curved and for a lot of women with straighter vaginal canals, this won't be an issue. This toy will work on any woman who likes broad stimulation on her clitoris and/or who has a shallow g-spot in a fairly straight vaginal canal. This toy is great for solo sex on its own. It's also small enough that it can be held on the clitoris while simultaneously using a dildo inside the vagina. This toy could also be held on the clitoris during sexual intercourse.

Material / Texture

The stimulating head of this toy is made of very high quality silicone. It has a smooth, silky, velvety texture that feels incredible to the touch. The base of the toy is a white plastic. The silicone portion of the toy is completely seamless and the only seam on the toy is the transition in between the silicone and the plastic. This seam is not deep enough for the toy to trap bacteria here, so cleaning is not a problem. Lelo's silicone is some of the most luxurious feeling silicone I have ever encountered in my toy collecting. This toy has a very rigid shape and does not bend at all. The toy had no smell or taste coming out of the packaging. After extensive use, including washing (at least 5 times a week), over the last 5 months the toy feels just as smooth and luxurious as the day it arrived. This toy requires a water-based lubricant with use since it is made of silicone. The silicone makes cleaning easy despite the fact that the toy is not waterproof. The silicone portion of the toy can be immersed in water and cleaned with soap so long as care is taken to avoid wetting the toy's controls or recharge port.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the toy is as aesthetically beautiful as it is functional. The shape was ideal for applying broad stimulation to the clitoris or the g-spot. My only complaint was that the toy was not long enough nor curved enough for me to manipulate it to get enough pressure on my g-spot to induce an orgasm. This is mostly due to the fact my vaginal canal is sharply curved and this may not be a problem for other women. The shape was ideal for clitoral stimulation. The handle of the toy is very comfortable to hold during clitoral stimulation, but again, is too short for g-spot stimulation in my opinion. The controls are easy to use and only occasionally will I accidentally hit them and change them without intending to. The size is perfect for clitoral or g-spot stimulation (despite the length). It's only 1.25 inches in diameter, so it can be used by someone who is newer to vaginal stimulation as long as lubricant is used. For a beginner though, I would recommend some care in taking the toy out of the vagina since the lip of the head may catch on your vaginal opening. This is not going to be a problem for advanced users or with practice. This toy is pretty discreet, mostly due to its unrealistic ergonomic design. Its small size makes it very easy to travel with and it can be locked to prevent it from turning on while inside a bag.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The toy produces very deep rumbly vibrations that are not remotely buzzy in nature. The flat surface of the head of the toy is where the vibrations are produced, although they diffuse down the entire length of the toy. The toy's controls are very easy to use. There are separate buttons to control intensity of vibration, as well as to cycle through the different modes. This toy offers a variety of modes including the following: static vibration, slow pulse, faster pulse, rapid pulse, and wave. I personally tend to stick with the static vibration. I find the controls very easy to use. When I first got the toy I did have problems with accidentally hitting a button and switching it to pulse mode when I wanted static. However, with frequent use I managed to learn a better way to hold it and this happens rarely now. This toy is incredibly quiet. There's no way someone would hear it behind a closed door. This toy isn't waterproof which is disappointing, but the other features of the toy and its design have made up for this drawback. The toy holds a charge for up to four hours of use. My favorite thing about the toy's battery is that it warns you with a flashing light when the battery is low but will not die on you without warning like battery powered vibrators will.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

This toy is incredibly easy to care for. The silicone is easy to clean with just antibacterial soap and water. The silicone portion of the toy can be immersed in water, so long as the controls and the recharge port are kept free of water. The toy is mostly seamless, so there aren't places for bacteria to grow on the toy. This toy also comes with a small drawstring bag for safe keeping. Since this toy is made of silicone, it should never be left touching other silicone toys. This is never a problem with the drawstring bag though. Silicone lubricants will ruin the toy, so make sure you use a water-based lubricant with the Gigi.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging of this toy is absolutely beautiful. The toy comes in a black cardboard box. It's very discreet and luxurious in every way. One of the most exciting parts of getting the toy was getting to open the beautiful box to find an equally beautiful product inside. The box can be used for storage or for a gift box. I kept my box, but I generally don't keep the toy in there since I can store the toy in its drawstring bag with all my other sex toys. The packaging had plenty of instructions that were very clear. The instructions were hardly necessary since the controls were so easy to figure out without instruction.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

This was my first high quality vibrator and it has definitely stood the test of time. Its beauty, functionality and quality is characteristic of what I've come to treasure and expect from all of Lelo's products. I've had this toy for about 6 months and I use it at least 5 times a week and it never disappoints. I typically use it as a clitoral stimulator. Despite being marketed as a g-spot toy, I felt it was pretty mediocre in terms of g-spot stimulation. I think, however, this is due to my own anatomy and this would likely not be an issue for most women whose vaginal canals are less sharply curved than mine. The shape of the toy is perfect. My only complaint is that the handle of the toy should be 2 inches longer so that there is more handle outside my body to hold onto when I insert it into my vagina. This is still a minor drawback for me since the toy functions so well as a clitoral stimulator.

Experience

My experience with this toy has been absolutely incredible. Despite not working well for g-spot stimulation, it far surpassed my expectations for its use as a clitoral stimulator. I use this toy as part of my daily masturbatory session most days. This toy produces very intense, full body orgasms after about 25 minutes of use. I've had some of the most powerful orgasms of my life with this toy. I've more than made up the price for this toy in terms of the number and intensity of orgasms it's given me.
Follow-up commentary
I actually wish I could change my rating of this toy to 5 stars. I've had this toy almost a year now, and it is still my go-to masturbation aid. This was my first luxury toy, and even compared to several other luxury toys that I own I have yet to find a toy that works better for me in terms of solo use. The rigidity of this toy is extremely conducive to my own anatomy in terms of clitoral stimulation. I have found that this toy isn't great for use with a partner since it is too long and doesn't fit well between bodies. I don't like it internally as much, because it just doesn't fit my curved anatomy well and I generally prefer toys that don't vibrate inside my vagina. While this toy does have pros and cons, the fact that it excels as a clitoral stimulator for solo use more than anything I've ever used makes up for any of its flaws. I have a well-rounded collection of toys and each one has its niche, including my Gigi. Of my collection during solo use, I use this toy more than any other. If this toy ever dies I will hold a funeral in its honor and buy another one immediately.

Excellent first review. Thank you! It's a shame Gigi didn't work for your G-spot, but it's still such a pretty vibe.

Great review! I still find the Gigi my fav G spot vibe, our bodies can be so different...
Also, I don't immerse my Gigi in water but never had a problem with water getting in causing trouble and I am not overly careful in cleaning..

I really am leaning toward purchasing this toy since it sounds like it would fit my anatomy pretty well for g-spot stimulation. Awesome review with nice detail and personal accounts to specify your adaptation of this toy.

actually though i'm working on my review right now- yes for internal stimulation it was a bit uncomfortable unless i rocked it against my pubic bone. I can only take like 4 max 5 inches inserted and though i was initially drooling over the shape on the tip it felt the same as when you're having sex and your cervix gets bruised- except it wasn't against my cervix. its quite hard and has little give to it though the silicone is quite nice. I used it more on my clit and she seemed to enjoy the vibrations(shrug)

    • How easy is the Gigi- G Spot Vibrators to use during sex?
    • I think it's more of a solo toy. You should look at the We vibes.

I think it works pretty well for this purpose. I use it simultaneously with a dildo all the time. Is it the best for this purpose? I would say you'd be better off using a smaller vibrator such as the Lelo Siri which is another personal favorite of mine during piv sex. Although it is pretty easy to use the Gigi. Works in all positions where your body isn't completely pressed against a surface or your partner's body. You'll need to give a little space in between you and your partner to fit the toy but it still works really well.

  • Lelo Gigi - Using a Condom or Not
    • I have recently bought the Gigi vibrator from LELO.

For my first use, I used a condom to cover the Gigi (the brand I used is Lifestyles Studded). After removing the condom, I noticed that the lubricant, from the inside the condom, left a kind of oily residue on the Gigi. I tried to use my toy cleaner to remove it, but I am slightly worried

I am worried that the lubricant from this condom is not water-based. Now, I have a few questions that I was unable to research answers to.

      1) Was the condom I used water-based?
      2) Have I ruined my new Gigi?
      3) Is it best to use a condom on the Gigi or not?

Any advice/help will be much appreciated.

      - Dr. Manhattan
    • From what I can find via Google, it looks like the lubricant in that condom isn't a silicone lubricant so it should be okay.

Lubricant Ingredients: Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Phenonip, Carbomer

I don't think you're ruined anything. If you're concerned you might want to try to find a different type of condom that leaves less residue. I have no suggestions because almost all condoms irritate me and since I'm fluid bonded with my partner we don't use them.

What would you recommend to clean the Gigi? I currently have a toy cleaner called "Swiss Navy."

Will using soap and water be bad for the Gigi? At least just for the silicone part of the vibrator?

  • is jt worth it
    • Is the product worth the price ????
    • I'm pretty sure we answered a similar set of questions about the pros and cons of expensive vibrators.
    • Quote: Is the product worth the price ????
Absolutely!! I bought mine a couple years ago after (literally) melting my previous one. Between the cost of having to replace my vibrators and the batteries constantly, I went for it and have no regrets!! Gigi is a regular part of our sex life! However, I use it only for cliteral stimulation (which works for me) so I can't speak if you are interested in G-spot usage.
The one drawback is I've found that I tend to hit the speed controls during use. Otherwise, the warranty is great (though i've never had one problem with it), it's easy to keep clean and store, and I LOVE that it's rechargable.
      Enjoy!

I highly recommend the Gigi for G-spot play. It's firm enough to stimulate it with the amount of pressure needed, but velvety enough to not be too much. Additionally the vibration settings I found to be ideal for pressing against my G-spot. Just have a towel ready!
    • Quote: I'd like to try a g-spot vib, but i dont know if this should be the one to buy...Any comments?
I would recommend the Gigi for g-spot play. I will point out though that if you have a g-spot that is on the further side in terms of depth in the vagina, or if like me your vaginal canal has a sharp curve to it then you should look for a toy that is longer than the Gigi. I love the Gigi as a clitoral vibrator but based on my anatomy it didn't do much for me as a g-spot stimulator. Take your anatomy into consideration before you buy a toy for g-spot play. If you are like me and think you'll need a more lengthy toy try the G-Spot Pink glass stimulator. I'm currently working on a review for that toy and it is a personal favorite of mine.

    • FiredrakeNemmy
So uh, my gf lives across the pond in England and I wanted to get a little something to bring her next I go visit.

She really likes the use of the Gigi vibrator but I'm worried about the charging of the toy, I learned to be wary of such things when I blew out the power to my Wii :X

But anyways, if anyone who has one could kindly take a look at the allowed voltages I would really appreciate it. The voltage info can usually be found on the charger itself ( a bunch of random numbers and such and has that UL logo ) Does it list the Input as 100V-240V or just something around 100V?

      Thanks!

They're good for 100-240V. I charged mine while living abroad just fine.
    • The charger I have with mine has the 100V-240V range.

You might also look at getting a charger specifically for using the Gigi in England.

    • My 22nd birthday is coming up which means birthday monies <3 I'm trying to see if I can orgasm with my gspot but haven't had any luck. I've been close but no beans yet. I'm debating getting this to see if it'll work for me, plus I'm trying to go off birth control, it's made my sex drive completely dissappear after 2 years of being on it, not to mention making me depressed, moody, etc.

Anyway, would this be recommended? Where's the vibration, though? More in the shaft towards the buttons or more at the tip? And is it plenty strong? (I need strong vibrations.)

I'll have to order at a time my dad won't be home, though, and make sure it arrives when he's at work--how embarassing it'd be for me for him to find out I have toys!

  • is the gigi a good starter g-spot vibe?
    • My friend Lee's birthday is coming up and ever since I told her about female ejaculation and what it is and that I can do it, she's been trying to find everything about it and is really interested in a g-spot vibrator, but she doesn't really like the way most vibrators feel with vibrations. To her, they feel like an "Oh, there's something vibrating in my ladyparts but it's doing nothing for me." So, my question is, is the Gigi different in that sense that the vibrations have some "variety" to them and they're not so monotonous? I'd love to get her the Gigi for her birthday and have heard nothing but great things about it.

My Gigi is on its way, so I'm not much help there... Although, whenever I read about female ejaculation the Ella is usually involved.

Miss KissThis totally beat me to the punch! If it has to vibrate and you want to be able to use it for clitoral stimulation, Gigi is great. But if you're on a lower budget and only want g-spot stimulation, the Ella is one of this forum's favorite dildos.

  • Best G-spot vibrator. Which one to pick?
    • Rachell25
LELO has presented a couple of very well designed G-spot vibrators, like Gigi, Liv and Elise, lately. Just looking at them makes me feel horny. They all have great features and different vibration modes and they are also rechargeable, so I can safe my money on batteries.
Gigi seems to be the toy of my dreams due to its well pronounced curved tip. I guess that will lead to a better contact with my G-spot.
Any ideas, suggestions, tips? Anything will do.

PS: Will Gigi make me squirt???
    • Rainbow
Wow... that looks really splendid, in fact, all of them do.
It looks like it's going to be my G-spot's best friend for ages.

That must be a bargain but it is kind of expensive for me at the moment but as soon as I can afford one I will surely have one in my toy box.
    • Siren
My dear, not every woman is able to "squirt", it depends on every woman's physiology but it is definitely going to send you to Seven's Heaven of Pleasure.
I own one, the Liv, and it's just terrible, in the good meaning of the word.
I can assure you, you made a perfect choice if you're looking for G-spot stimulation.
