Uma - luxury g-spot vibrator discontinued by Je Joue - review by Kitka

The Uma by Je Joue is a vibrator best used for g-spot stimulation for the ladies. With some warm up and extra caution this could be used anally as well so some men may get p-spot stimulation from this vibrator. Not too sure the guys would appreciate the color options though as it's only available in Fuchsia, Purple and Lavender.

Beginners could benefit from the Uma because it is not intimidating, in fact the diameter is on the smaller end of things. Size queens will not be satisfied with this vibrator but those needing a lot of power, specifically for their g-spots, will rejoice.

Uma can be used solo or with a partner for some revved up foreplay and is also waterproof so shower or bath time play is a possibility for those who enjoy that kind of play.

Being rechargeable makes this vibrator better on the environment since there are no batteries required to operate it. It also seems to be just more convenient for most people as you don't have to worry about having batteries on hand if this runs out of power. Just attach the charger, plug it in and wait about 2 hours.

Uma is made from silicone which has a safety rating of 10/10. Silicone is food grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous and phthalates free. The silicone is luxurious, velvety and smooth to the touch. It is matte in color and does grab on skin so lubricant is required to glide around easily. Remember to only use water based lubricant with this toy as silicone lubricant could possibly degrade the material and ruin the toy in the long run. If you're brave you can spot test the Uma with silicone lubricant before using to make sure it won't damage the toy.

There was no odor upon opening the box and the overall feel is one of stiff smoothness since there is not much give to the Uma.

Uma has a wide oval base that contains the same button controls as the Mimi, "+", "-" and "~", surrounded by plastic housing. Moving from the base towards the head, the Uma thins out into a shaft about 1/2" in diameter before slowly flaring out again into a 1 1/4" diameter oval head that houses the powerful motor. Uma is 7" in overall length with 4" of it being insertable. It only weighs about 0.75 lb so it's very easy to manipulate with one hand if you prefer to use it that way. There is the Je Joue logo imprinted on the base end and underneath the heart design is where the indicator light is located. It lights up red while in use or charging.

There are no visible gaps or seams in the Uma except for where the silicone meets the plastic housing for the controls.

The base of the Uma has three buttons for controlling it, "+", "-" and "~". Press and hold the "+" button to turn it on and keep pressing it to increase the vibration intensity. Press the "~" button to cycle through the patterns. Press the "-" button to decrease the vibration intensity or press and hold to turn the Uma off.

The buttons are fairly hard to press, making it pretty safe for travel, but it can also make using the toy somewhat of a pain. For the power the Uma packs it is definitely worth the extra effort.

Uma is whisper quiet on most vibration levels and only really gets loud enough to be equated to something like a bullet when on its highest vibration setting which means this is a great toy for dorm use. With 5 intensity levels and 7 different patterns that are adjustable in intensity level by using the "+" and "-" buttons there is sure to be something for most in this vibrator. 2. Constant pulsing
3. Roller coaster
4. Short pulsation
5. Medium pulsation
6. Quick pulsation
7. Long pulsation, quick pause and repeat

The Uma charges via an AV cord that magnetically connects to the metal "+" and "-" buttons. The LED light in the logo on the body of the Uma flashes while charging and will stay on steadily when the charging is finished. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge and you should be able to get 2 hours of use out of each charge depending on use.

Cleaning the Uma is super simple because it's totally waterproof. Just wash with warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner or wipe it down with a toy wipe. Do not boil or toss your Uma in the dishwasher, it will ruin the motor.

The Uma came in a gift/storage box but it's quite bulky so you may want to put this in something else, like a storage pouch before storing to keep it safely away from other toys that may degrade the material. It also helps to keep the dust and fuzz off this toy since silicone is typically a lint magnet.

Uma came nestled in a black gift/storage box that has a little lift-up flap that reveals the instruction booklet and the charger underneath. The top of the box has the Je Joue logo printed on it and it was covered in a paperboard box that is white and lavender in color. This was all covered in a plastic bag for shipping.

The packaging is discreet and doesn't require wrapping if gifting but it's too bulky for most people to keep it as storage. Included in the packaging was an instruction booklet specifically for the Uma.

I love my Mimi and just had to try out the Uma since they're so similar. Have to say I'm very happy with my decision to invest in this toy.

I was very excited to try this out since I ended up liking my Mimi so much. I grabbed my water based lube and gave it a go, cycling through all its intensity levels and patterns. Have to say it was very enjoyable and way more powerful than I thought it was going to be. I would definitely recommend this toy to others who crave power and g-spot stimulation combined in a sleek looking, well made vibrator. Also, being rechargeable is just so awesome, who can pass it up?
