OhMiBod - A dud? Perhaps, Perhaps not.
If you enjoy strict clitoral stimulation, or just some very lovely foreplay, then this item is a must. But be wary of the motor dying, and be sure to buy lots of batteries as you will go through them fast.Published: August 18, 2009
Pros:
Phthalates free, iPod enabled, easy to clean and store.
Cons:
Motors die easily, goes through lots of batteries, horrible smell after removing the batteries.
Upon ordering my OhMiBod as my first true vibrator, I was excited and nervous. I waited, I believe, one week and it arrived at my house. When It arrived I all but ripped open the box, only to be let down. Don't get me wrong, when you see pictures of an OhMiBod, you think "wow that's kind of pretty". But when I actually held it in my hand, I thought "It could have been so much MORE". It seems to be made out of a fairly cheap plastic, but its durable... for now at least. Its also Phthalates free, which is a BIG plus in my book.
I looked past the disappointing view, and started to run my hands over it. Very smooth and cold, sending a shiver down my spine. I tend to be appealed to something with ridges, but the fact that this vibrator is iPod enabled was a big selling point for me. I love music and to have music incorporated into something so intimate is wonderful.
If you choose to use the normal built in settings, there is another cap for that. The built in settings include a very soft steady vibration, A medium steady vibration, A very strong steady vibration, a medium pulsation, and three others I just can't put into words. Seven built in settings in all.
After having used the OhMiBod for almost a month, the motor stopped working. I was going through batteries left and right, which is not something I wanted to be doing when "in the moment". Fortunately, after sending an e-mail to OhMiBod's customer care, they sent me a new one completely free of charge. My second one has lasted me a little over a month, and hopefully it will last a while longer.
As for the sound, its not exactly the most quiet and discreet thing out there even underneath a big comforter blanket. If you have room mates, or you happen to live with your parents or family, then this may not be the toy for you.
The only severe downside I have seen to this (other than the first ones motor dying) is the horrid smell that comes from it after you've used it and go to take the batteries out. It reeks of burnt plastic and heated metal, which is worrying.
Outside of the actually toy, when you purchase from OhMiBod you also receive a free membership type deal to view erotic photos. Which is not my cup of tea, but for someone else it could be just what they wanted.
Overall, my OhMiBod has done me justice, but it's most definitely not all that it's been cracked up to be.

Experience
OhMiBod seems to work best for me, when just using it as a clitoral stimulator. It would have worked great with a bigger toy being used for penetration.
Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
After recieving a new OhMiBod after the first one's motor died, the second one's motor died as well. All together both vibs lasted me close to 3 and a half months. Quite frankly I'm dissapointed with this company. Boasting about something so new and inovative.... and it fails? Not something I look for in any thing I'm using.
I highly doubt I will be buying anything else from this company. If not forever, then for a very long time because a vibrator, or more broadly, a sex toy company is supposed to be something thats known for having good, quality products. This just is not one of them, sadly.

I got nervous and took it off and the batteries out. Help!!!the unit should not heat up like that when plugged in. one of the reasons that it would do this is if the batteries were placed in the device backward causing a short in the circuitry that converts the audio signal into a higher dc power signal for the motor. always use the standard non headphone cover and test to see if the unit works before using the headphone adapter.
if the unit does not work with the standard cover the batteries might be in wrong, once it works with the standard cap switch to the music cap and try a source like a mp3 player/PC/ something with a standard headphone jack. the iphones have a bit of a different headphone jack style with an extra set of contacts for the iphone headsets so if the jack does not go fully in may cause a short in the vibrator.

OhMiBod – traditional vibrator

Quote: I love to party alot in groups. Would the ladies like this? Would they be fun at parties?I think this would be good for parties, especially if there's music. There's a version of the OhMiBod that actually picks up the ambient sound in a room -- you might want to have a look at that one!

To me, it seems like that would be a better use than in private. Seems like the novelty would wear off if you only used it alone.

I am not sure what exactly the question is here. Maybe some more details on what emails you sent and for what reasons my get you better help on your situation.
I am going out on a limb here- but if your requests were to review the product and the emails were pertaining to that. Or in general emails themselves, they are extremely busy here at Eden and you kinda have to have the attitude "They answer in the order recieved". If that makes any sense.
You could submit a support ticket or even click the link at the top of the page (I think) for "expert help". But really I would suggest you wait and you will get a response as soon as they get to it.

I was wondering if anyone knows if a phone with an mp3 player built in would work with an OhMiBod vibrator?
-
I replied to your post in the other thread in which you asked this question, but here it is again.
The reviews on the product page state:
"If you don’t have any kind of portable mp3 player, the Naughti Nano can be used with any CD player, computer, or other device that has an audio out option (small jack) for headphones."
From Sammi's review, which can be read here. -
Yeah, it can. The only thing that the OhMiBod "links" into is your headphone jack. If it can take a headphone jack, you're good.

Thank you for viewing OhMiBod – vibrator review page!

I had an OhMiBod that died after less than 2 uses.
Boo. I thought this sounded like a really fun toy.
Could you comment on how the OhMiBod performed when using it with your iPod? Thanks for the review.
K.Love - email me directly for an upgrade to the Freestyle.

Would love for you to give Freestyle a try and a chance for us to redeem ourselves.

great review.
Wow, it sucks to hear that this toy broke! Maybe the Freestyle is of better quality...it had better be, considering the price.
I think just as like most new electronic gadgets, it goes through improvement stages. I have the new and improved naughtibod and its great! I wonder if they have upgraded this one as well.
ty for the review
