Onye the Lonely...
I think this vibrator would make a truly excellent gift, especially for the woman who is a bit intimidated by traditional vibrators. It is pretty, feminine, and beautifully packaged, and small enough not to be intimidating.

The Onye is a very pretty vibrator|Onye vibrator that is billed as a “discreet massager.” I have the pink and white color, and it is very pretty and feminine. The bulk of the shaft is hard white plastic with a band of pink silicone running around it and silver trim rimming the band. It comes packaged in a silky white box with silky black padded lining--truly a quality presentation!
The Onye features eight functions total--3 speeds of solid vibration, and five different patterns of escalation, vibration, and other patterns I cannot even describe. The solid vibrations run from barely a flutter to moderately powerful, and the noise level corresponds with the intensity of the vibration. This vibe is not overly loud, by any means, but it can definitely be heard on its highest setting.
The vibe runs on 3 AAA batteries, which I found initially a little difficult to insert and screw the cap on properly (I think this is a personal defect rather than one with the vibrator, though!). It is controlled by a simple push button on the top of the toy that cycles through the functions.
The Onye is only about 4 ½” long, with a medium girth. This, of course, makes it ideal for clitoral stimulation. I, however, also found I absolutely LOVED the toy for shallow penetration--it just stimulated the vaginal opening wonderfully and drove me to bliss! The silicone band helps you keep a firm hold on the toy, even when things get slick with lubrication, which is a nice touch. The toy cannot be used, obviously, for deep penetration, but I did not find that necessary.
The toy is not waterproof, but “splash proof,” so it is safe for cleaning with a spray-on toy cleaner|Pjur med clean spray or a damp cloth. Although part of the toy is silicone, the hard plastic cannot be sterilized, so please use a condom if sharing.

Experience
The motor in this toy is in the tip, so it not only excels for clitoral stimulation, but for shallow penetration. Shallow penetration is not normally "my thing," but I couldn't get enough of it with this toy!

It's not just you. I had the same problem inserting the batteries and then actually getting it to work. However, once you figure that out, it's a great toy and totally classy. I have the black one and love it. -

Great review! Glad you are enjoying it! Just a tip on putting the batteries in...there is a red dot on the base and another red dot on the lid. Match these up and it should screw together nicely. Also, no need to cycle all the way through the different settings to shut it off....just hold the button down for a little bit and it will shut off. I've had this one awhile and finally got these issues figured out! -
Thanks, Oggins! I did eventually figure out lining up the red dots (thanks, Penn State, for a quality education!). I'll have to try the button; I did try that, but I probably just didn't hold it in long enough. Thanks for the tip, though, and I'll definitely give it another try. And yes, I *do* like this one alot. Tampon Sex doesn't faze me at all after Tentacle Sex!

I like the look of this toy, but is it really worth the money? I could probably get a vibe that was pure silicone for about the same price, although it wouldn't be as pretty as this one is. -
It's gorgeous, Adriana. Boohoo, it's all a matter of preference. The aesthetics of a toy are almost as important to me as its performance. A little indulgence is nice sometimes! :)
