Petite Flowers, Moyenne Fun

This is a nice little toy for the beginner who is okay with texture. It doesn't have very strong vibrations at all. It's a good starter. But I definitely need something else to help out. I really wanted this to be fantastic since it looks so good. So I'm a little disappointed. But it's nice to get warmed up.

Use

The Petite Flowers Swirl Hibiscus is a mid-range vibrator that is "Designed by a Woman for a Woman." This is obviously marketed as a woman's toy, and other than the vibration, which is limited, a man probably wouldn't be very interested except to use on a female partner. It's a traditional vibrator with an interesting texture intended to be very stimulating. It can be used to stimulate nipples, clitoris, and perineum. It's not an anal toy though. There is no flange or retrieval cord. It's a sweet little vibe best made for a beginner. It's nice in the shower (it is waterproof). And it's pretty good for exercising the Kegels.

Material / Texture

The Petite Flowers Hibiscus Swirl is made with TPE. It is phthalate free, latex free and hypoallergenic. It has a slight pleasant smell that I can't quite identify, which is the same with the taste. It's not "perfumy" or offensive, and the taste is not strong at all. It is hard to notice the smell unless you put your nose right up to it.

This material is not stiff in the least. It has a great deal of give, such that I could bend the vibe in half. The only firmness is where the bullet vibe is and the battery case. If you hold the vibe up to the light, you can even make out the wires running from the battery compartment to the bullet at the tip.

It also isn't sticky. There was no evidence of anything on the vibe that shouldn't be there.

Design / Shape / Size

The Hibiscus Swirl is shaped like the twist of an ice cream cone. It also has raised hibiscus flowers on the shaft of the toy. There is a bullet vibe at the tip of the vibe and a hard compartment for the batteries and the handle. You can bend it quite easily, and you shouldn't run into the problem of dislodging any wires since they are located straight down the center of the shaft. The TPE doesn't hold lint or attract anything. It does require a fair bit of lubricant applied repeatedly to not pull too much. It is, however, easy to clean. A little soap and water and you're ready to go. It cannot be boiled to disinfect. It also works with both silicone and water-based lube.

The shape is not only a little unique, but it helps to give it the ability to help work out your Kegels. I managed to walk down the hall from shower to bedroom with this firmly planted. It didn't move at all, and this is after a good 20 minutes in the shower. The texture was also best felt when the vibe was twisted as opposed to moved in and out.

You can also bend the vibe enough that you can stimulate your clit. But the vibrations aren't that strong, either on its own or when it's inserted. As a matter of fact, the vibrations are significantly less when inserted. If you hold the top of the vibe, you can barely feel any vibration at the base.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Hibiscus Swirl has a single controller on the bottom of the vibe. It is a single dial with, supposedly, three speeds. The cap must be twisted on properly before it will run. If you tighten it too far, it won't work; not far enough, same thing. This can lead to some confusion regarding whether or not your batteries work. It's not a battery guzzler; I've already had it on for a fair while and the power hasn't diminished any. The dial isn't easy to move, especially after your hands get slick. And it doesn't seem to have three speeds. It feels like a medium speed and then very slightly stronger. There were no more speeds, except off. I actually prefer off.

It is waterproof, as the package states. I had this in the shower for over 20 minutes, as mentioned above. It was nice for a little shower fun, but it certainly didn't get me off. I had to help it out, and believe me when I say I gave it enough time to do it. I did the 20 minutes and then another 20 in the bedroom. I still needed to take things in hand to finish off. The sound is very discreet. You cannot hear it much at all. And it's very straightforward to use. The only thing that might get confusing is that the batteries need to face opposite directions in the compartment. One positive up, one negative up.

Care and Maintenance

Care is fairly simple with this. Soap and water or toy cleaner should be more than enough to clean it. It's not boilable, so if you wish to use it anally (which isn't recommended at all) or share it, you should use a condom. The material isn't sticky, but it does seem to absorb water-based lube fairly well. Extra lube was necessary.

I store it in the original package at the moment. I'm planning on making some bags soon. TPE can react with other materials, so a bag is necessary.

Packaging

The packaging consists of a clear plastic box with various bits of information on it and a plastic sleeve that holds the vibe. The packaging includes no instructions at all, not even a description of how to put the batteries in properly. It does say that there are three speeds and that it is waterproof, made with phthalate-free, non-toxic TPE, and "designed by a woman for a woman." It has a brief blurb on the back regarding this vibe and the others in the Petite Flowers collection.

The box is clear, as mentioned, and has muted colours. It's not garish and doesn't attract undue attention. The vibe is also a medium pale pink, another non-attractor of attention. The box itself could be gifted with ease without anyone being all freaked out. Plus, the vibe is eye-catchingly attractive.

The box can be used for storage, and presently, I am using it as such. The packaging is non-recyclable.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

I wanted this to feel as great as it looks. I wanted the texture to blow me away. I wanted the vibe to give nice, strong, deep vibrations. I didn't really get this. The vibrations were fairly shallow and almost as if there were no other speeds. The difference in speeds is absolutely minimal at best. The texture of the swirl feels interesting and nice. The flowers didn't provide any extra stimulation at all. But they are pretty. I don't see this vibe as the star of the show. It might start things off, but something else is needed to get over the top. Even bending it to touch the clitoris barely provided any extra feel-good stimulation. Overall, it's mid of the pack. There are worse, but there are definitely better out there. It's simple enough that someone just getting used to vibrators would probably find this fairly ideal.
