Roulette Bet on black - textured classic vibrator discontinued by Evolved Novelties - review by ~LaUr3n~

The Bet on Black vibrator from Evolved is part of their new Roulette line of toys. Placing bets with the Bet on Black is a great gamble, because it is hardly a gamble at all. The Bet on Black, BOB for short, is a high quality silicone vibrator, with a powerful motor, unique shape, and water proof capability. It is quite girthy, so those with narrow vaginal canals may find it to be a challenge. The vibrations are good for not only internal stimulation but external clitoral stimulation as well. This may look like it will feel great anally, but since there is no flared base, it probably isn't the smartest idea.

BOB is made very well and part of this is due to the high-quality and body safe materials. The majority of the vibrator is made of European silicone. This material is phthalate free, hypo-allergenic, and non-porous, making it super safe for the body. It is safe for those with latex allergies, it is completely rubber free. The silicone has no smell or taste. It isn't sticky, but the surface still does collect dust and lint, not as bad as jelly toys however. There is a light drag across the surface of the silicone. Because this toy is large, I recommend using lubricant to ease insertion. The silicone has some give. It has more where there is no bullet and in the middle there is a seemingly hollow area that allows the toy to bend a little-about 45 degrees max.

The bottom 1/3 of the toy which is the handle, vibration controls, and battery compartment is made of plastic. This plastic is also high quality and very sturdy. It has a slight matte feel, no smell, and no taste.

The Bet on Black has a gorgeous shape. I love the dark contrast of the black and blood red colors. The swirled silicone looks absolutely delicious. The body, including the bottom, is very streamlined.
The slight flex allows for comfort during insertion and use. The soft material and sleek design, make thrusting easy.

Size is large. BOB has a lot of girth. It is 5 1/4" in circumference, 1 5/8" in diameter. Length is pretty average though. Total length of this toy is 7 3/4" long, but the insertable length is about 5 1/4". This is a decent size for thrusting. The tip of the toy is tapered for help with insertion since this gets very thick. It is a heavy toy though. It almost weighs a full pound. If you like long solo sessions, you may get some wrist cramps. If this is the case, call in the reinforcements! The end of the toy is rounded which fits nicely in my hand.

I don't think the Bet on Black is very discreet. The colors are not bright, but they are bold. The shape isn't explicitly phallic, but it still is close enough that its function isn't masked. Because of the size and weight, it isn't the greatest for travel, but it is possible.

Here is where the roulette part comes in. The Bet on Black has a fun control unit. It is a unique dial that when rotated, turns the toy on and increases the steady vibration speed. This is really easy to use while the toy is inserted. Just use your thumb to turn the dial up or down. there are silicone pieces on the dial that make it grip and turn smoothly. On the lowest level it is still a moderate amount of vibration and is VERY quiet. The motor is very powerful so I expected a lot of noise, but there really wasn't much comparatively. Since there are no set increments of speed, the dial allows for a personal catering of pleasure. Just turn it to the amount you can handle! About half way the vibrations are average and still pretty quiet. Turned all the way to the max, the vibrations are strong but not too intense and the sound can be heard but probably not through a door.

The vibrations are concentrated mostly at the top third of the toy where the bullet is located, but are felt throughout the entire shaft. What is nice is that the plastic seems to absorb the vibration and there isn't too much that transfers to your hand. I hate when my hand goes numb because of that! The swirls of the shaft are designed to stimulate the inside vaginal walls. Externally they don't do much for the clit since they are so large. The vibrations do work nicely in this area though.

BOB is waterproof due to a seal in the battery compartment and fused silicone to the plastic. It does work in the water, but you need to use a goo water based lubricant since silicone can't be used.

You need two AA batteries to operate the Bet on Black. The battery compartment is really easy to use and it is sturdy so you don't need to be careful of breaking it like some other toys. You just turn the end of the top and the plastic part comes off, the two AA batteries slide in and the top gets locked back into place.

Because BOB is silicone make sure to not ever use a silicone lubricant. Doing so with irreversibly weaken the material and make it gummy. Use water based or oil based lubricants only. If you are suing a condom with this toy, make sure to use one that doesn't have silicone lubricant either.

Silicone can be sterilized, but since there is plastic in this toy, don't run it through a dishwasher or boil the entire thing. You can dip the first 5 inches in boiling water for 1 minutes to sterilize the insertable portion. Otherwise, use hot water and soap to clean the surface of the toy. Because it collects dust, a quick pre-rinse before play is also a good idea. After cleaning, let it dry and then you can store the toy is the awesome packaging it comes in.

I love the packaging for the Evolved new vibrators. I have like 6 of them and they all stack beautifully. And since they are clear, it is easy to see what is inside! It comes in a hard plastic case that has a lid that comes off. It is secured down by two metal clasps. The box isn't too much larger than the toy and on the inside there is a soft plastic insert that the toy sits in.

The top of the case says the name of the product and company with a few highlights of the toy. The sides have additional information about safety and languages. The back explains the use, material, and special features.
There is gorgeous detailed artwork all over the case. It makes a great gift! Since it is hard plastic it won't get smashed and can house your toy for a long time.

How did it work for me? Well...it is too large to be a go to toy all the time. And it also isn't a toy I can use if I haven't had sex for a day or two. I'm just too tight to use this comfortably. If I am REALLY turned on and get this lubed up enough, thrusting is fun, but for the most part I use this clitorally and for shallow insertion. I have only taken the entire thing a few times. It is a lot of fun to use in the shower if you have a good water based lubricant. I really like the gradual vibration increase and found that all levels could bring me to climax with the right amount of time. The swirls on the shaft weren't felt unless the thrusting was really fast, but I didn't enjoy that as much as simply inserting the toy and feeling the deep vibrations fill me.

I give the Bet on Black 5 stars because it only has steady vibes and is very girthy. Even though I don't appreciate the girth as much as some, it does feel great when I can handle it. The materials are high quality and so is the construction. There is no smell and it is easy to clean and store.
