Luxe renew - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Hummingbird

Originally I purchased this as a Christmas present for my life partner. We give each other back massages and I hoped this would add an extra sensory feel. Well, on Christmas evening we never got that far. We had started with a neck and shoulder massage which was well enjoyed by him. From there it seemed more of a he-vibrator than a she-vibrator. Oh yeah, he enjoyed it immensely right between the apex of his thighs. I don't need to say anything further on what happened from there now do I?

Not only did he enjoy the vibrating sensations but so did I when he tried all 7 vibration patterns on each of my nipples. The nice thing about the vibration is that although strong for this small device, it did not over-sensitize me. You go through 7 vibration patterns on each nipple and see how well they perk up!

Oh and partners? Don't forget that because this so easily fits in your hand you can continue stimulating your partner all over their body throughout your entire time together!

We never got a chance to even try it for what it was designed for and now I can't wait!

Properties
TPR has an excellent flexural fatigue resistance and high impact strength. It starts out soft and has products added to make it harder. This type of material is ideal for manufacturing a variety of textures.

I would also like to add that the TPR on the vibrator has a friction feel to it. In order to glide it smoothly over the body, lubrication is a definite must-have! I used the Shunga water based lubricant and found it greatly helped the vibrator glide smoothly over any part of the exterior body.

Hygiene And Maintenance
TPR is less porous than cyberskin but more porous than silicone, so we recommend using condoms when sharing. TPR toys cannot be disinfected with boiling water. You can wash it with warm water and toy cleaner or mild soap.

You will see below I even submerged mine in hot tap water for 20 minutes before first use making this easy to care for.

I purchased the purple one, it being my favorite toy color choice, but it also comes in pink and black. All of them look aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The LUXE Renewal is 4 3/4" long and 1 1/4" at its widest point.

I love the curvy sleek design and the curly-Q handle. The shape of the vibrator itself makes it ideal for any part of the body with the way it smoothly curves in and curves out. The whole unit fits well in the palm of the hand and is held easily with or without the handle, though extra well with lubrication on the TPR portion only.

The Plastic handle and the TPR vibrator are separated by a thin silver ring giving it an ultra modern look. Anyone would easily be able to determine what this is if left on a table and, in fact, would be curious to pick it up just because of its attractive design.

To me the shape is like that of a snail, although most people would probably say a slug but I like the word snail better, especially because of the shape of the handle. The vibrator itself, the snails head, is cushiony and the TPR gives with a firm press of the fingers. The tip of the "snails" head is more flexible and therefore gentle against more sensitive areas of the body. The tail of the snail is hard plastic and while it can be a slippery to hold with lube on it, we did not have much difficulty with it at all when holding it in either one of our hands.

There are no seams on the vibrator or the handle, just the joint connection between the two. This is an added plus to not feel a ridge on the more sensitive and erogenous zones of our anatomy.

I would not advise this for the anal area of the body since there is no flanged end and with the plastic handle is slippery with lube. It would be just too easy for your partner to lose their grip.

The LUXE Renew is operated by a one button multipurpose control for both power and vibration variation.
The 7 selection vibration variation includes:

The single operating button requires a firm press to change variations but is easy enough to change without looking since the button is slightly raised near the handle. I didn't encounter an accidental slip/hit with the control at all because it does need a firm press to change. The button is a clickable one in a lighter color than the vibrator itself and is easy to locate.

There are no directions but everything is included in the package that is needed to operate it. YES! Batteries are included! Still, attention to detail is required when inserting the batteries. We didn't notice until many retries that there were actual + and - raised symbols on each side of the battery compartment that are the same color as the vibrator. They're very hard to see indeed! And twisting the handle onto the vibrator was a little tricky. Otherwise, once the batteries are in and the ends twisted together, then it was quite simple to use!

The first thing I did was to test that the LUXE Renew worked with the batteries and it did very well.

The package identifies this as waterproof and I always have to test that theory so I submerged it in my bathroom sink full of hot tap water and antibacterial soap before first use, batteries still securely inside. After leaving it in my sink for 20 minutes, I washed it thoroughly with my hands and more antibacterial soap and rinsed it with hot tap water. After leaving it to air dry, I checked the battery compartment and was happy to see it still dry.

Not only was the battery compartment dry but the massager turned on and all seven settings worked just as before it was washed!

Before each use, as with all my toys, I give the rounded curves of this design an easy wipe over to remove any lint or debris picked up from the TPR.

The plastic shell case it comes in is partially see-through with the words LUXE Renew clearly printed in pink and purple. The word Massager is also printed on the box and on one side in six different languages. It also mentions that it's "7-Function Whisper Quiet Luxury Massager" clearly on the box so it is not discreet packaging, though not offensive. There are no embarrassing erotic pictures on the box so I would give this to a friend at a wedding shower as a gift.

This will be great for traveling, especially after a long day of driving so it would have been nice if they provided even a thin storage bag. Who wants to carry any other packages? Fortunately, I have many and it is much easier removing from a drawstring bag than the plastic package.

Okay! I'm jealous that my partner got to enjoy this before me. Oh well, it was his Christmas gift but guess what? It's my turn and I can't wait!

I love that it is indeed whisper quiet and would love to rate it at 1 bee but that just isn't possible because you could hear it through a closed bedroom door. It is a soft buzz and you would have to listen for it but it is not offensive. In a two bedroom apartment it could easily be used with music playing in the background and disguised.

We like music anyway when together. We listen to songs that are our favorites and intensify our feelings.

This is supposed to be a favorable review for the LUXE Renewal, despite the initial difficulties we had with the batteries placement and putting the unit back together.

Our first night with this was indeed very pleasurable and I was glad I surprised him with it as a Christmas gift.

I'll still want to try it for what it is designed for, that is clitoral and G-spot stimulation, but will include that in my follow-up review. We both enjoy this immensely, even the first time out, and the sleek shape of it encouraged him to try it elsewhere on his body.
