Screw Loose

This vibe would be a pretty standard cheap toy were it not for the INCREDIBLY loud, HIDEOUSLY buzzy vibrations. I wish I could find something honestly good to say about this toy, but it's got all of a cheap, poorly made vibe, a vibe I've honestly not found a single thing to love about this vibe. Shameful.

Use

This is a smallish vibrator of standard design. The vibrations are high pitched and buzzy making it great for stimulating nipples but less than ideal for clitoral use. It's highly textured with a twisting pattern, but not very thick, making it ideal for texture lovers who don't like a lot of girth. Though the buzzy vibrations make it only really good for teasing on nipples and lips and what not.

As to its claims of being waterproof, I would say it's water resistant but not truly waterproof. It's also rather on the noisy side, meaning for campus, roommate or other living situations where privacy is an issue, this is not a vibrator for you.

Material / Texture

This is a silicone vibe with a swirled rib going round the shaft. The silicone smells slightly rubbery, making me question the purity there of. The texture is velvety and it's tasteless. The texture is very notable upon insertion, and quite pleasurable. The material is plush and has a certain amount of give, but not a lot, meaning that although slim, I would say this is not a toy for beginners unless they're very sure they're fans of texture.

Design / Shape / Size

This vibe is about five inches in length, with about four and a half insertable inches. It features a ridge of silicone twisting around the main shaft like a screw. The tip of the vibe is rounded, and the plastic base is textured to look a bit like a flower. The size of this toy ought to make it discreet, but the bright color, obvious purpose and above all the incredible amount of noise it produces combine to make a toy that is distinctly the opposite of discreet.

Also, the pink at least glows in black light. It also features a small seam along the body of the toy that you can't feel upon insertion.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibrator features a twisting top to control vibration level, from quite mild to fairly strong. Whatever setting it's at, the vibrations are loud for the level of vibration, at the highest setting it's incredibly loud and buzzy. THe vibrations are also very buzzy and surface-y, which I honestly find irritating everywhere but my nipples.

Despite what it says on the box, this toy is not waterproof, I tried it underwater with the batteries removed and leakage occurred, however it is admirably water resistant, though all in all water resistance doesn't make up for ear splitting noise and buzzy vibrations.

Care and Maintenance

Unlike many other silicone toys, this one is not terribly prone to attract dust. Being silicone it's not compatible with silicone lubes and should be stored away from silicone toys. For cleaning you can submerge the silicone part in a 10% bleach solution for about three to five minutes.
    • Easy to store
    • Hard to clean

Packaging

This comes in a plastic package with a cardboard insert featuring the company's idea of what a college co-ed looks like (blonde, busty, scantily clad), and a listing of the vibe's functions. It's certainly not discreet, nor anything unusual for sex toy packaging.

Follow-up commentary
This toy stays buried with the rest of the ones I dislike at the bottom of my vast toy box. I'll admit I do occasionally like it on my nipples, but that's about it, and I certainly wouldn't pay the price of this toy for something I'd only use on my nipples.

Jeeze, you'd think with a name like 'Sorority Screw' it'd at least be quiet enough to use in a dorm. Thanks for pointing out it's not!

EW! Smell is bad. Give it the flame test

It's loud, almost waterproof and smells funny? Doesn't sound like much fun. Thanks for the review.

What is it with Cal Ex and "Sororities?" Most of the sorority girls I knew in college were not the "Hey, come over to my place Friday night and we'lll play with our vibes." kind of girls.

The noise, jeez. What I have done with my less than stellar and/or loud vibes that still have size or texture potential is to repurpose them, "Hey, you're a dildo now." You can always do that. It saves you batteries.

I'd agree to do the flame test. Carrie Ann did a video on how to do it. ONLY use a match, hold it under the toy. AllenK says to have a bucket of water under the toy in case of fire. (You drop the toy in.) But, you can tell if it IS 100% silicone by this test. REAL silicone will not melt, Silicone mixtures will melt.

Still you gotta admit P'Gell it IS every guy's choice dream of what a sorority girl does...
