Secretive way to spice up your day!

It's an exciting sexy secret to carry around with you during the day, invisible to everyone else. Yet you can always disclose the fact and heat up foreplay in a restaurant or bar, for example. Barring that, they nicely work your pelvic floor muscles and don't let you forget that you're a woman.
Published: May 7, 2011
Pros:
Inconspicuous, easy to clean, low-maintenance.
Cons:
I'd make them without the string.

Use

I think the best situation to use the Smartballs is when you're amongst people. Personally, it gives me a kick to know I've got something going on that no one knows about– unless I want them to know. A more advanced date might also be nice for them, letting the information slip while you're having drinks. I even like to wear them while I vacuum the house, just makes the whole boring process of vacuuming a little titillating.

I think the pull-back-string is a nice feature, although the place where it meets the first ball can get a little uncomfortable when they lie low. This happens to me every time I wear them. After awhile they start sliding out, possibly because my muscles tire. I know if I consciously engage my vaginal muscles, I push the balls out. Short of having to crouch down behind a car to readjust them when walking your dog, they stay in nicely even if only one is still actually inside of you. That's good. Next I will get the Teneo Uno and see if that's different– maybe there is not enough space inside of me? I doubt that, since they fit snugly once I got them arranged inside. Or is it the tiring muscle?

These are certainly travel friendly but I doubt you'd get through airport security with them smoothly. I don't have the balls to try. Whatever is inside each ball and moves gives you sweet swinging vibrations inside when you walk. Although it doesn't physically stimulate and excite me, it reminds me that I'm a woman and my body can have a lot of fun– that's what does it for me here.

Material / Texture

They don't smell, I love that. Nothing worse than if something reeks of cheap plastic, gets banned from the toy drawer. I like their ridges although I can't feel those inside of me. The texture is excellent for beginners, it's approachable and feels smooth and soft. Make no mistake, though, the balls are hard. The connection between the two balls is flexible, so after I push one in the connection molds into a V shape to accommodate their location together inside of me.
    • Flexible

Design / Shape / Size

The black/white version strikes me as much more stylish, I have the pink one. Bought it some four years ago, though. With stronger confidence now I'd likely go for the less girly one. It's a plus that their whole shape is one molded, flexible sheath.

Performance

What's best is that something inside of them moves– like those balls you roll around in your hand to make a sound. [Or, is that not what those are for? Do they not belong on my bookshelf?]

Great also: they need no batteries! And they're silent. Not so great is the string, but only because I'm comfortable reaching into my vagina and pulling them out– not everyone might be.
    • Comfortable
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

I only wash them with soapy water when I'm done with them, but I hear they're dishwasher and boiling proof as well. I never use them with lube, they just slide in without so I can't comment on that. I would probably recommend not using too much, though, else you'll have it dripping out of you which might kill the whole 'discreet' angle.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

They're packaged nicely, visible through a clear window. The box is nothing but initial packaging, though. I wouldn't use it as a storage box. But with a bow around it, it makes for a racy gift box.

Experience

Since I'm in a sexual drought right now, these help me still feel womanly without masturbating every day.

  • Have you tried these or something similar?
    • I'm curious to hear about how long (daily and over the long term) you wore them, and what the results were. Could you tell a difference?

I'll be interested to hear people's responses to this. My understanding is that they can be worn all day. But when I try to wear any toy for a prolonged period of time (more than 1 hours) I find that I get dry and the toy gets uncomfortable and I have to take it out.

As for telling a difference: I try to remember to do some Kegel exercises a few times a day, and I've noticed a difference since I started. Since these toys are a Kegel exerciser, I assume that if they do what they're meant to do, then yes, you would be able to tell a difference. These are at the top of my wishlist right now. Maybe I'll get them soon and I'll be able to give you an answer myself!
    • never tried them. Looks cool though

  • Choosing The Right Ben Wa Balls For Your Anatomy
    • So, this is a general question for all the women out there. I recently purchased Fun Factory's Smart balls Teneo Duo and they're my first set of ben wa balls. I spent quite some time analyzing the different types of ben wa balls and felt comfortable enough purchasing the ones from Fun Factory after the great reviews. Now that I've gotten them and tried them a few times, I'm sort of disappointed and left wondering if I'm doing something wrong (since many others seem to love them).

For me, the balls are very cumbersome to insert. The product isn't huge by any means. I own vibrators with a larger circumference than the Teneo Duo. Yet, everytime I've struggled to insert them (even with lube). Additionally, I can't feel any vibrations or movement. I know they're not necessarily supposed to be arousing. But, I literally can't feel anything. While, when I hold them in my hand and move them slightly, I can feel the movement without a problem. So. I'm looking for advice from any women out there.

Should I have started with smaller sized ben wa balls? Does the material of the balls make a difference in sensation (metal vs. silicone)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have both the original Smartballs and the Teneo Duo. I can offer some personal insight into one of your problems, and will take a stab in the dark at the other.

First, as to insertion, my stab in the dark is: are you using lube and inserting the balls one by one? This toy needs lubricant, as its silioone creates a lot of friction and "drag." I swab some lube on the top half of the first ball, and a little around the neck of the second. I also find the finger insertion grip to be useless for the first ball. You have to hold the first ball on its own and pop it in there, then use the finger grip for the second.

As to the vibrations, my personal experience is that I didn't feel them at all when I first started using the smartballs, but the sensation improved as my grip did. I didn't find that the vibrations stimulated involuntary muscle contractions or gave me a passive workout out of the box. I had to use them for a couple of weeks and do a lot of deliberate squeezing before the process got more automatic.

Your mileage may vary, as everyone's anatomy is different, but my advice would be to give it a couple of weeks of daily wear and see whether your opinion changes. I love mine now and feel that they provide a PC muscle workout that is superior to kegel exercises sans equipment.

      Hope this helps.

So the sensation improves over time? I've never been impressed by any balls, because I can't feel them. I think I'll take your advice and try to get some regular use out of mine so maybe I can see what all the fuss is about.

  • What's the difference
    • Between the Smartballs Teneo duo and the regular Smartballs
    • Quote: Between the Smartballs Teneo duo and the regular Smartballs
The regular smart balls are smaller in diameter and circumference. So pick which one you think would be more comfortable for you.
    • The Teneo Duo are also made out of silicone, while the regular Smartballs are made of Elastomed.
