Simple and Sweet

All things considered, this was an excellent first rabbit and a very good purchase for me. Beginners looking for a nice introduction to rabbit vibrators, or someone looking for a warm-up toy with a narrow shaft and minimal texture would be happy with the Mood: Seductive.

Use

Because this was my first rabbit vibe, I wanted something with an easy-to-use control pad that would be simple to insert without pain or discomfort, could be used in the shower, would provide G-spot stimulation, was phthalates-free, silicone, and good enough quality to last a long while. I have owned my Mood: Seductive for eight months or so, and it has met all of my expectations… except the G-spotting.

If the supposed G-spot curve is the deciding factor for you, you should look elsewhere. Unfortunately, because the toy is so flexible and the curve on the tip is so small, I have felt no G-spot stimulation to speak of. I am sad to say, it misses my spot completely.

That aside, I have been very happy with this toy. The narrow shaft means I can slide it in easily without much warm-up. I have found, if the the vibrating arm doesn't hit my clitoris dead on as I thrust (because the small, bendy finger gets caught on me), I have to grip the toy with my thumb underneath the clitoral arm and hold it in place. Luckily, the clitoral arm can be flexed backward so that it is almost parallel to the shaft. It can also be pushed forward to reach farther, or flexed to either side, but not as much.

Because the top three inches of the shaft are decently flexible, beginners can try out different positions without risking bruising anything the vagina. It has the most give and flexibility about two and a half inches from the top, between the inner plastic core and the bullet in the shaft. The head is also moderately squishy.

This toy is made to be waterproof, and I can verify that it is at least splash proof. I have taken this toy in the shower several times and no water has ever leaked inside the battery compartment. I have not tried submerging it, because mine is a little too easy to unscrew for my personal comfort. Not so easy that it flies off during use, but enough for me to be nervous about taking it into the bath. Despite my personal anxiety, there is an O-ring around the outside of the battery compartment that looks like it would keep water out.

Material / Texture

The insertable shaft and the clit stimulator are made of soft, matte silicone (the purple part), and the handle is plastic. The silicone is safe, non-porous, has no smell, and is so velvety to the touch! As soon as I took it out of the package, I just wanted to run my fingers all over it. This velvety-soft feeling will diminish with water-based lube, but it makes for a little bit of extra drag than the smooth silicone would have.

The smooth sides with minimal texture make for easy thrusting. I don't really feel the texture when it's inserted, so if you don't like texture, this toy should be fine for you. There is a slight seam that runs along the shaft and the clitoral arm, but I can barely feel it with my fingers and not at all once it's in use.

Design / Shape / Size

I think the design is very cute. Its simple elegance is one of the things that caught my eye, and the purple color is so lovely!

The shaft is 9 inches long, with 5 inches insertable. It is mostly smooth except for a mild groove that starts below the head, creates a simple wavy design along each side, and curves around the top of the clitoral arm.

The clit vibrator has a non-animal shape for those who would be disturbed by that kind of thing. The arm comes to a single, slender tip that is good for pinpoint clitoral stimulation, but not so good for broader stimulation.

Even though it's not obnoxiously phallic-shaped, it can't be mistaken for anything other than a sex toy. It is small enough to hide under a pillow or bunched-up blanket or something in an emergency.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The toy runs on two AA batteries, so replacement batteries are easy to find.

There are ten vibrating functions.
1. High, continuous
2. Medium, continuous
3. Low continuous
4. Revving/escalating
5. Short, quick pulsations. Low vibration.
6. Longer, slower pulsations. Higher vibrations.
7. Short, quick pulsations. Higher vibrations than setting 5.
8. Longer, slower pulsations. Lower vibrations than setting 6.
9. High intensity, longer buzzing. About 2 pulses/ 1 second.
10. Short, quick, low vibrations. Uncountable.

Settings 1, 4, and 9 are the the most powerful, and therefore the loudest vibrations which might be heard outside the room, but only if the walls are really thin. While I was living in a college dorm, I put on background noise to use these settings discreetly. The quietest would be settings 3, 5, and 10. I could use these three settings in a dorm shower, with people in nearby shower stalls, and no one would notice.

There are only two buttons on the control pad making it very simple to use. The bottom button is a dedicated on/off switch. If you have to turn the toy off in a hurry, just push this button. You can resume your last setting later by pushing it again to turn it on. The top button is the function button that cycles through the different vibration settings. If you push the function button while the toy is off, it will turn on and perform the next setting after the one you used last.

Because the buttons are easy to bump accidentally, and to prevent the insides from corroding, it would be wise to store the toy without the batteries in it.

There are two vibrating motors: one in the shaft, one in the clitoral arm. Consequently, the vibrations are the most intense at the head of the shaft and the underside of the clitoral arm, though a good amount travels up to the spindly finger. The shaft vibrations and the clit vibrations are controlled by the same buttons, so you cannot mix and match functions for the two.

Care and Maintenance

Because silicone picks up lint and dust really easily, I would recommend cleaning this toy with soap and warm water or with toy cleaner before and after use. The matte finish may not pick up as much as smooth silicone would, but it's enough to potentially irritate the vagina.

Be sure to clean really well along the textured groove that runs down both sides of the shaft and around the clitoral arm. Fluid can easily get trapped there, dry, and leave crusty stuff that you don't want to re-insert. Other than that, you don't have to worry about bacteria growing inside it because silicone is a safe, non-porous material.

I have not tried this myself, but it is possible the silicone portion may be boiled for three minutes if you hold the plastic portion out of the water, but be conscious of the bullet located in the head of the shaft, so it doesn't overheat. Even though it's supposed to be waterproof, I would not submerge this toy in boiling water, nor run it in the dishwasher. The silicone part can also be sterilized in 10% bleach solution.

You may like to keep the box for storage, as long as you keep it somewhere no one will notice it. Otherwise the toy will be fine in a drawer away from lint and dust. Silicone toys can degrade each other, so if you keep it with other silicone toys, make sure to store them wrapped in cloth or perhaps in plastic coverings. Likewise, silicone lube should not be used with this toy. Stick to water-based so it doesn't degrade.

Packaging

The toy comes in a black box with gray swirly designs that remind me of aristocratic French architecture reliefs or stylistic plants. The box itself is some kind of thick, sturdy paper, like card stock. There is a clear plastic window on the front that lets you view the toy through the box, so it is not very discreet. The teal, shiny letters on the front, top, and sides of the box make it rather pretty. There is a hanging tab on the top that would make it difficult to gift-wrap, unless you cut that off. Inside the box, the toy rests in a plastic insert that is very easy to slip in and out.

The toy came with simple instructions in several languages, but I threw them away almost instantly, because the toy is so intuitive, it makes instructions somewhat superfluous. (Or perhaps I'm just impatient.)

Thanks for a well-written and thorough review. This was a contender for our first G-spot vibe. We went with the Love Handle instead and it sounds like that was probably a better call.
