Smartball(s)- Take 2

The Teneo Uno is an excellent alternative to Fun Factory's Smartballs, especially for those who are new to vaginal balls or would like something smaller. It is constructed out of silicone, discreet, and comfortable to use. While the Teneo Uno isn't as stimulating as the original Smartballs, it is a great way to remember to do kegels throughout the day.

Pros:
Silicone, smaller size, easy insertion finger-hollow.
Cons:
Less stimulating than original Smartballs.

extremely useful review
Fun Factory has become known for its bright colors, innovative designs, and use of silicone. The Teneo Uno, and its big sister the Teneo Duo, are Fun Factory's new take on the very popular first-generation Smartballs. Along with two choices of size (one ball or two), the Teneo products have many improvements that make them even better than the original Smart Balls. They are constructed out of silicone instead of elastomed, have an improved retrieval string, and even boast a snazzy new design.

The Teneo Uno comes in standard Fun Factory packaging, along with a sample of Toy Fluid and multi-language instructions. Intended to be worn in the vagina in order to increase kegel strength (whether they actually do is up for debate), the Teneo Uno is a great alternative for those who find the Smartballs to be too large and uncomfortable. Fun Factory recommends the Teneo Uno for women with a dropped or tilted uterus, as well as those new to vaginal balls.

Since the Teneo Uno is made out of silicone, it can be sterilized (unlike the original Smartballs). The retrieval string is also silicone and is much stretchier, as well as thicker, than the coated nylon string featured on the Smartballs. The bottom of the Teneo Uno features a finger-hollow for insertion, and also has “Fun Factory” discreetly imprinted in the silicone. Although it is half the size of both the Teneo Duo and the Smartballs, the Teneo Uno still has a nice weight to it. It is only 1 oz. lighter than the Smartballs (yes, I weighed them both) and doesn't feel light or flimsy. There is a swirled pattern of silicone which wraps around the toy, but it is not noticeable during insertion or while being worn. The movement of the weighted ball inside the Teneo Uno is less noticeable than that of the original Smartballs, due to only having one ball versus two. The retrieval string, however, is more noticeable due to the increased thickness.

It is important to remember that while silicone lubricant can be used with the original Smartballs, it should not be used with the Teneo series. The Teneo Uno should be cleaned with anti-bacterial soap and water or a toy cleaner, whichever you prefer. The Teneo Uno is a great alternative to the original Smartballs, especially for those who find themselves wishing for something smaller. Although it is not as stimulating as the Smartballs, the improvements on material and design make it an excellent product for beginners and experts alike.

Would you suggest this for someone who already has smart balls?

ThePornLibrarian- If you find the Smartballs are a little too large or become uncomfortable, I would recommend the Teneo Uno. Just remember that it will not be as stimulating as the Smartballs. (There's always the Teneo Duo which has all the material benefits, but should feel similar to the original Smartballs.)

Thanks for the comment Smile

Nice review! I may have to get this. I just can't comfortably wear the smart balls around for extended periods of time. Maybe this would do it!

Excellent review! I think I'm going to get this: the original Smart Balls are a little to big for me.

I've been looking for a smaller exerciser! This is going on the wish list. Great review!

Oh, hmm. I think my mind is not working today. Is the size of the actual ball smarter than one Smartball? I realize that the smart balls are connected but is this just like.. half of the set or is the ball actually smaller as well? And, if that's the case, is the size why it doesn't provide as much stimulation or is it something else?

It's the same size as one of the balls on the first generation Smartballs. I think the fact that it's only one vs two separate balls has something to do with it not being as stimulating. I'm not sure if Fun Factory changed something internally in the Teneo series, but it's a possibility.

Thanks for the wonderful review, but I still have one more question about the Teneo Uno. The Smartballs are a bit big for me - they keep popping out - so back in the closet they sit. The most uncomfortable problem I have with Smartballs is the string. Since the string sticks out of my vagina, the part where the string connects to the ball continuously scratches my vagina lips. Does the improved silicone string on the Teneo Uno feel smoother and more comfortable? I do not want to waste another twenty something dollars on something I cannot use again. Thanks!

Moan & Shout - The string feels much softer and smoother, so in that sense it's better. The thing that you should consider is the fact that the string is connected differently, so there could be a chance that it may still irritate you. Sorry I couldn't have been more of a help!

Really appreciate the review! The smart balls were a shade too big for me, so I think I'll be investing in this smaller one Smile

Great review but I really wish I'd read it sooner! I have a tipped uterus and JUST ordered the original Smart Balls. Now I feel like an idiot, but I'll see how it goes

  • Tips for Teneo Uno
    • Hi everyone, I just purchased the Teneo Uno and I'm having trouble feeling any sensation from the inner ball when doing Kegels. Does anyone have any tips? Is it possible that I'm inserting it too high? I did feel the inner ball during removal.

Are the sensations with the Teneo Duo more pronounced? I was thinking of getting that too.
    • I have never felt much sensation from any of the smartballs products other than when I'm moving around at a fairly fast pace.

Just squeezing them does nothing to the inner ball. In fact, it actually isn't designed to. The inner ball moves when you move, working your muscles automatically so you don't "have" to do kegels. Vaginal balls do very little if you're just sitting still.

I think, while it's good to actively do kegels around the ball(s) it's not going to be enough to get sensation from the inner ball. For that you have to move.

Thanks Carrie Ann, I also tried walking around and doing short runs and I didn't really feel anything. I'll give it time and maybe I'll grow more sensitive to any changes that are happening.

  • Best cleaning method for Smartball Teneo Uno
    • Besides the regular soap/hot water method, can I clean my Uno by:

      1. Quick soak in 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
      2. Soak in boiling water

      Thank you very much!
    • Oops, I didn't mean to post my inquiry in the General Discussion area. I thought I was just sending a question directly to the Eden people. Sorry!
