While the idea behind this product is good, the execution is lacking. O-gel will give you a few minutes of cooling sensation and no more. If that's enough to stimulate you, you'll like this product. If you need more, like me, look elsewhere for an arousal lube.

Use

This is intended to be used as an arousal gel. The peppermint and menthol ingredients give a cooling sensation that is supposed to result in increased sensation. At least that's the goal.

Its main ingredients are peppermint and menthol, the later of which is actually a component of peppermint. Peppermint is supposed to work as an aphrodisiac in three ways:

1) by providing a cooling sensation
2) by arousing your senses with its scent
3) by increasing blood flow

The first happens, but I'm not sure that the second and third means of arousal work with this product.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

O-gel is a gel with a pleasant, not-too-thick consistency. Its approximately the same thickness as Maximus lube. But you only use a few drops, so thickness is likely not an issue.

It comes in a small pump bottle that makes delivery of a drop or whatever quantity you want easy to apply.

Taste / Aroma

It smells strongly of peppermint, the key ingredient. Its quite a pleasant scent. The scent is strong enough that you wouldn't be able to use it without your partner noticing.

While it smells quite good, it doesn't taste good. You won't want to use this if your partner will be giving you oral sex afterward.

Performance

I followed the instructions and applied several drops, rubbing them into my clitoris. Rubbing with this lubricious gel felt nice. Within moments I felt a cooling sensation. But nothing more. Minutes after the cooling sensation came, it left.

I don't believe it helped me reach an orgasm faster nor did it increase orgasm intensity. I tried it multiple times, always with the same unimpressive result.

I also tried using it as a lube, applying it to a toy that I then inserted. I noticed no difference in sensation this way either.

After applying O-gel there is no need to wash it off. It absorbs into your skin in time making that unnecessary.

Personal comments

This product did win a 2009 "O" award for outstanding lube, lotion or potion, so apparently there's more to this product than I discovered. Or perhaps some people such as myself are just immune to the powers of peppermint.

Here's hoping that if you do try it you're one of the ones who are responsive to it.

	JadeKitten (verified) Some people are sensitive to peppermint, my partner it just about burns her, but gives me a tingling effect. The only peppermint type of feeling that is strong enough is plain peppermint extract/oil... but dilute that or it might burn if you get to much. I don't suggest it for anyone actually.
