So black your eyes slide right off it...
The Jimmyjane little chroma is a convenient effective little aluminum vibrator you can use without waking up the neighbours. It runs off one AA battery, is waterproof and has discreet vibrations while in use. Under some circumstances the toy can become loud. But this toy has delivered the nicest vibrations of any toy I own. I would particularly recommended it for lovers of directed pressure.Published: July 31, 2010
Pros:
Good vibration intensity without irritation and quiet
Cons:
Screw top lid takes away some advantage from discreetness
The little chroma has my favourite vibrations of any toy I own. It is a very well made design which allows very strong vibrations to be carried with very little noise. I chose black which further enhanced the discreet nature of the toy. It is most likely to be dismissed as a fancy mascara, novelty pen or penlight if left sitting in the open. There are a couple of drawbacks to the little chroma however.
While the vibrations of the little chroma are usually extremely (!!!) quiet, the toy does have a tendency to be quite loud when switching it on and off. This is because to turn the little chroma off you must unscrew the battery cap-there is no button. At times the little chroma has been unpredictably loud during use, but sliding the battery and motor in again seems to do the trick to stop loud vibrations.
It really is a bit of an inconvenience to have to screw the cap off of the vibrator to switch it off. If somebody is about to catch you using the little chroma the best thing you can do is to leave it running in your hand until you have the time to stifle the noise of switching it off into your pillow (...and if you’re unlucky enough for the other person to hear it-try to pass it off as your new vibrating mascara).
The little chroma is waterproof; just make sure that the battery cap is firmly screwed on before getting it wet. If you want to use it in the bath, think carefully, because if you drop it while you are using it the vibrations on the bath are going to cause a terrible din. Screwing the cap off with wet hands is difficult and the bathroom is likely to amplify the noise of switching it off. Regardless I do tend to use the little chroma in the shower. I often cover the little chroma with my towel as I leave the bathroom for my bedroom and then turn it off. Considering the little chroma is made from aluminum, it is not as slippery as one might think. It does have quite bit of grip from the coating, which is immaculate. But it is probably a really good idea to loop a cord through the holes in the battery cap of the little chroma for extra safety and also to free up your hands while washing.
I once dropped the little chroma on a tiled floor-although not because it was slippery. Though sounding momentarily sick it eventually resumed working with its original power and quietness, and without a scratch. But if the motor really did pack up, the motor is replaceable and available for a reasonable price from Jimmyjane! It is tiny and looks just like another battery.
The best thing about it is its vibrations which are surprisingly deep, and the aluminum allows me to get the pinpoint pressure I need and love without significantly decreasing the strength of the vibrations. I might also mention that it is just the right size for clitoral stimulation and is very easy to hold in place. The vibrations are strongest at the tip and decrease in intensity towards the battery cap which makes the vibrator easy to hold.
Aluminum can be used for temperature play, but I honestly haven’t explored how well the little chroma holds temperatures. It can be warmed in a bath or chilled in the fridge, or quickly in ice water. Aluminum is one of the safest materials as it does not contain phthalates and will not hold bacteria. Jimmyjane recommends cleaning with mild soap and hot water and drying with a soft cotton cloth. Clean while cap is tightened without the battery and motor, or while running. Otherwise be sure that the casing is free of water before inserting the motor and battery.
I use the little chroma mainly externally. It can also be used vaginally; but, due to its shape, it isn’t such a good idea to use it anally. Though if you had to, a cord might be able to assist with retrieval if you did decide to use the little chroma anally.

Experience
I tend to like vibrators that allow me to direct strong pressure to my clitoris. This is probably why this is my favourite vibrator. I have tried rabbit vibrators and the eroscillator (version with extra power), but I find these toys very difficult to use because they irritate me with the movement of the toy. Though the little chroma delivers strong vibrations it is also very gentle because the vibrator itself does not move much, but still delivers deep vibrations. The shape of this little vibrator is perfect to direct the pressure and vibrations where I want them. I have to give the little chroma a top mark simply because I love it so much. Although the screw cap design is not perfect, it seems necessary for such a unique and effective overall design. Though it is not a faultless item it certainly makes up for this small point, especially considering the effort I have gone to find a vibrator I really love. Isn’t that what these reviews are about?
Follow-up commentary
11 months after original review
I still love this vibrator. The problem is I haven't been using it much because, well, I damaged it. I dropped it on the pavement while sneaking it to my boyfriends house and it sustained a small chip. I was severely disappointed but thought, 'oh well I can still use it'. Then I dropped it again (klutz) and the motor has become irrepairably loud. But to be fair I must admit to dropping this poor thing quite a number of times, the last two were just more detrimental. This would be fine if I lived in america, but the shipping price from jimmyjane to Australia for a new motor is prohibitive, I might as well get another one. There is now a distinct hole in my collection that has not been filled with other (still good quality) bullet and rocket vibes that I have purchased in the meantime-perhaps it was silly to think I could ever replace this beauty with something else. It is still going, but I can't use it as often now. I'm sure the non-klutzy are able to enjoy this well crafted baby for a long time. If not it really is worth getting a new one, as I will be doing soon. I suggest buying an EF padded bag and using it for transport: just in case.

Price vs little chroma

Is the price worth the little chroma??? any one with long term useage?

Quote: Is the price worth the little chroma??? any one with long term useage?I have bought 2. The first chipped on concrete while transporting it to my boyfriends house. I think it had repeated shocks to the motor because I was dropping it while I was getting out of the bath. Then the motor became noisy and not so effective. I moved on to my eroscillator for a while, but eventually I bought another little choma because I missed it so much. So yes, I think it is worth it. And if you look after it it will look after you. Tie a strap around the end of the little chroma if you're going to use it in the shower so then you won't drop it. This is easily done, there are holes for such a strap. If transporting it elsewhere keep it in a nice safe pouch. Don't grab it on the way out of the house without putting it away in your bag anyhow. You may regret it later.
As far as vibrators go, my clitoris is an extremely fussy girl. I can get off with the eroscillator or the little chroma, but anything else has honestly been rather a difficult endeavour. I've tried decent bullets and pocket rockets and traditional vibrators but none has come close. I've tried a vibrator with weird patterns. Honestly, all you need is this one speed. It varies in intensity across the shaft. The little chroma has a decent power at a discreet noise level. It also has a beautiful hard smoothness and doesn't cause irritation. As goldilocks would say 'It's just right'. Just make sure your batteries are charged (the only ones that fit are eneloop), or get some fresh non-rechargable ones before you judge its power.
Plus they are pretty!
LOL I hope you enjoy my mini review. You can read my full review on the site too if you like.

Jimmyjane where you at???
-
So I've been looking into Jimmyjane more and more the past few months after all the hype finally got to me. The toy that seems to tickle my fancy the most would be the little chroma. The whole high quality, small, sleek, simple, quiet, waterproof, metal thing really gets me going. However, the sexiest version of the toy for me is the steel version *pictures it sitting innocently next to my mac, complemented by the brushed steel lamp on the bedside table*, which costs a whopping $195. Now, I'm okay with spending the money on a single toy, as long as it's the right toy. Trouble is, I've been to maybe 12 adult toy stores in three different cities around my state, NC, and not only did the majority of them not carry Jimmyjane toys, the only ones that did were adam and eve and although the chain carries a few of the toys, the specific stores did not. What's worse, some of the other stores had never even heard of Jimmyjane. And yeah, it took some effort to not exclaim "and you do this for a living?!?!" Anyways...
Not being able to see, touch, test/witness the vibration of the toys before hand is a big problem to me, especially when dealing with such expensive toys.
Does anyone have any idea where I can get my hands on any of their friggin products? I mean sheesh, I'd be willing to make a minitrip to a surrounding state for funzies at this point. SEX TOY ROADTRIP! I just have to lay my eyes on em, ya know? Sneaky little things... Has anyone else had the same experience with not being able to find them?
Or can anyone who owns a little chroma/little something offer a more specific comparison of power to some other more available and comparable toy? I've read all the reviews on this site as well as others. I just want something more like, "at the strongest point it feels similar in intensity to the (#) setting of (manufacturer)'s (toy name)." If that's at all possible... -
Might I suggest sending one of the reviewers a message and asking them? I would bet Sam, Owl, Darling Jen or wetone123 (among others) would be happy to help. :) You may look to see what vibes they have to see if you happen to have them too, that would give you a better idea on the comparison.

JimmyJane is based in San Francisco and you can see their products displayed at many of the top-tier sex boutiques around the US. They have a list of retailers on their website.

$1,650 for a six piece set of Jimmyjane vibes?

Would you buy this Jimmyjane "Ultimate Members" set for $1,650? link

Quote: Would you buy this Jimmyjane "Ultimate Members" set for $1,650? linkHELL NO!
But I'm not a Jimmyjane fan. The look of their toys (expect the Form 6) don't do anything for me. -
I've never understood having more than one of the same toy. I would much rather spend that $1650 on a variety of toys.

Has anyone purchased the JimmyJane Little Chroma? If so did you find the price was worth it for the toy?

I haven't personally, but there are 12 reviews on the little chroma, so you could read those and see what they thought.

Thank you for viewing Little chroma – vibrator review page!

Thanks for your comments. I actually have another little chroma now with a funky design on it. He's called The Honourable Van Sackful Smythe. Yes it's a limited edition and I love it. I still feel sad for my pretty black one though. When I have lots and lots of money I might replace my black one because it's so discreet and it has a little bit of a classic look to it. No I have another interchangable motor I can technically still use it, but it's chipped.
I have found out that while the little chroma does not take all rechargable batteries it does fit eneloop rechargables extremely well. I am pretty sure Jimmyjane made the little chroma with eneloop rechargables in mind because they sell them with the chroma, and because it is oh so snug to put the battery in, but other rechargables don't fit in at all. Having the battery fit snugly is pretty important because I think if they are too thin they vibrate a bit more. Eneloop are the best ones anyway becaue they are designed for high drain items like cameras and apparently recharging them doesn't affect their power. So go get some eneloop rechargables.
For some reason my new one is also a *little* bit quieter at the start up too.
Thanks for the review!!
