So Close to Perfection

I love firm pressure on my clit, and Mona is my favourite insertable toy, so I was expecting Ina to be my holy grail of sex toys. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. I've been putting off writing this review while I tried to figure out a way to make it work well for me, then tried to figure out how to explain why it doesn't. I love Ina's shape, material and features, but I've come to the conclusion that the vibrations in the clit arm just aren't right for my body.

Pros:

Use

Ina is a dual-action vibrator, and stimulates both the clit and g-spot. I would recommend Ina to people who have used other rabbit-style vibrators, and have an idea of what type of shape will suit their body. I think Ina is best for solo use; there's not much for a partner to see or do, but you can just lay back and let the toy do all the work. Ina even stays in place hands-free. Unfortunately, Ina isn't waterproof so you can't take it in the shower or tub. It is a pretty quiet, especially when inserted, so I would have no problem recommending it to those living with roommates or family.

Material / Texture

The coloured portion of Ina is made from silky, smooth silicone, and the handle is made from shiny, white ABS plastic. It is non-porous, body-safe, odourless, and tasteless.

Design / Shape / Size

Ina is one of the most attractive dual stimulation toys I have seen. It has a very modern look and comes in some fun colours.

Ina's shaft is identical to Mona, which I love. It has a softly pointed tip, a cross section would be shaped like a rounded off triangle, and there is a curved ridge along the top. This is my favourite shape for g-spot stimulation. It is 4 1/4" in circumference, but the shape makes it feel much more filling. I would compare it to a straight toy with a 5" circumference. It has 3 1/2" of insertable length, which easily reaches my g-spot. The tip actually goes deeper, while the thickest, center part of the shaft presses against it.

The shaft has no flex or give, since it is made from a thin coating of silicone over a hard interior. The clitoral arm is hard as well, but is flexible at the base and can be bent back to about a 90 degree angle. I've read that many other reviewers found the pressure to be too intense, but I didn't find that at all. It does have a good amount of pressure, but I enjoy pressure on my clit and I actually apply more pressure when I use a clit toy than Ina provides. It can be a bit much during an orgasm, when I'd usually back off a bit on the pressure if I was controlling a toy, but overall I like it and think it could stand to be slightly stronger.

The clitoral arm is just over 2 inches long and the shape reminds me of a curved thumb, although it's a little bigger than my thumb is. I wish it were a bit shorter since the top ends right where my outer labia join at the top. Luckily, the curve of the arm hugs my vulva well, so it still makes contact with my clit.

The handle is easy to grip and fits very comfortably into my hand. I find Ina a little bulky for travel. I can't just toss it in my purse like some of my other toys, but it is smaller than most other rabbit-style vibrators.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Ina's control panel is made up of 4 buttons: a '+' and '-' that increase or decrease the power, and up and down arrows that scroll through the patterns. The controls can be locked by holding all 4 buttons down for 5 seconds (the light will go off to let you know) and can be unlocked the same way, which is great for travel or storage. There are no separate controls for the dual motors, although there are settings where you can use just one motor at a time. There are 5 levels of speed for each pattern.

1. Steady vibrations from both motors
2. Just shaft vibrating
3. Just clit arm vibrating
4. Alternating pulses between shaft and clit arm
5. Both motors pulsating simultaneously
6. Increasing vibrations in the shaft, then a pulse in the clit arm
7. Increasing vibrations in the shaft, then decreasing in the clit arm
8. Random

I very rarely use patterns, but Ina probably has the most interesting patterns I have ever felt, so I like to play with them sometimes. Number 7 is my favourite; it feels like the vibrator is actually moving.

I would give each motor 4 vrooms and 2 bees. When it's not inserted and both motors are on, it can't be heard through a door. It's even quieter when inserted, or if you only use one motor.

The motor in the shaft has medium pitched vibrations, the same as Mona or Gigi. The clit portion has deeper vibrations, that feel very similar to Siri (another toy that doesn't work very well for me.) The clit vibrations are pretty strong, but feel too slow and flat and aren't very stimulating for me. I have other vibrators that are equally or more rumbly, but feel like they have faster vibrations and work much better for me.

The charging port is on the end of the handle and protected by an attached silicone cover. Just insert the charger until you feel it click into place, then connect the other end of the cord to an outlet. A charge takes about 2 hours, and will last up to 4 hours. The lights flash while Ina is charging, then glow steadily when the toy is fully charges. If the battery is close to running out during use, the lights will flash red to warn you. Ina can't be overcharged.

Care and Maintenance

Ina can be washed with soap and warm water or toy cleaner. Be careful to keep water away from the buttons and charging port. Lelo advises sticking with water based lubes, since silicone lube could make the surface of the toy permanently tacky. If you want to try it anyways, do a patch test first. I store it in the satin, drawstring pouch that is included. Mona should be kept away from toys made of less safe materials like jelly or TPR to prevent melting.

Packaging

Lelo toys have very nice packaging that would make a great gift and could be used for storage if you don't mind that the box takes up more space than the toy itself would. Ina came in a thin, purple cardboard box with a picture of the toy and a product description on the sides. Inside is a sturdier box made from matte, black cardboard that says LELO in silver letters. Ina is sealed inside a plastic bubble surrounded by a flat piece of cardboard that could be hung up in a store for display. Beneath the toy are the charger, manual, storage pouch, and warranty. It has a 1 year warranty, and a 10 year quality guarantee which means if your Ina breaks in the next 10 years you get 50% off your next Lelo toy. There is a code on the back of the warranty that can be used to register your Ina on the Lelo website.

Personal comments

The only way I can finish with my Ina is by using the handle to rub the external part across my clit for extra stimulation. Since the shaft is connected that means lots of movement from the internal portion too, which tends to leave me sore.
Follow-up commentary
I've owned this toy for over a year now, and it had never worked well for me. I randomly decided to give it another shot a few days ago, and for some reason I actually like it now. Before, the vibrations felt a bit flat to me; they just weren't the right frequency. Apparently my body's preferences have changed a bit, because the clit stimulator worked just fine for me. I'm not sure why that would happen, but I'm not complaining. I guess I'll have to go through my collection and give some of the other vibrators that didn't work for me before another shot.

  • How strong is the Ina in comparison to other vibrators?
    • I'm saving up for an Ina and want to be sure that it's worth it for my partner and I. I know my way around vibes pretty well so for those who own or have used an Ina, comparisons to any other vibe could be useful.

Particularly useful would be comparisons to the wahl 5-speed massager, the hitachi, the mimi and the we-vibe salsa, though. Those are especially appreciated!! :P

      Thanks!

(Discussion of other elements of the toy is fine too, if anything stands out about it to y'all)
    • I don't personally have any of those toys you mentioned, but you're more than welcome to send messages to the people who have reviewed it to see if they have any of the others you're interested in for comparison's sake. :) That's usually easier and faster than waiting for a response on a thread since they get buried so easily.

    • The battery in mine does not hold a charge very well, does this have to do with the speed im using?

the lower the speed the longer it will last

I guess so, but I usually dont use the max speed and the charge does last long :( I've had mine for over two months already.

  • Ina Buttons
    • I notice that the buttons on my Ina don't always respond the first time I push them...It's kind of annoying. Has anyone else had this problem with theirs or heard of this happening?
    • I noticed that, too. You just need to hold them down a teeny bit longer than you think you need to.

Yes, I agree. You have to give them a purposeful push to get them to change levels. But I just figured that was because the old Lelo toys were too easy to accidentally push and cause a change.

Hi, I was wondering is this product soft or is it hard for the material that was made into this product. Some times when the product is hard it kind of hurt certain places if not used right.
    • Sometimes it's easier to go to the product page and read some of the reviews on the product to find out information about it. Since I don't personally have the product, I do not know, but you might want to try out what I said. If the reviews do not answer your questions, ask the reviewer in a comment how firm or soft it is.
    • Also, on the product page, Victoria has a really good review which would answer all your questions. There is another thread about Ina, not linked on the product page (you can search the forums with the main search bar, though): link
