Use

The Soraya is an excellent dual stimulator. It is a very high-end rabbit style vibrator that is ergonomic which makes it easy to use and more adaptable for a variety of body types, position preferences, and situations. The Soraya provides a multitude of options for clitoral and g-spot stimulation. With two motors, you can use the insertable portion and the clitoral portion independently with vibrations and patterns on. This vibrator is perfect for any woman who likes clitoral and internal stimulation.

Material / Texture

The matte silicone is velvety but without any drag. The ABS plastic along the inner loop and sides has a metal look and has a smooth transition to the silicone. The ABS plastic helps keep the weight of the toy nice and light, while still sturdy. The materials are body safe, odorless, easy to clean, and beautifully rendered.

Design / Shape / Size

The construction of this toy is intuitive and sleek. The loop in the handle makes for perfect position adjustments, thrusting, and easy one-handed use...even in the shower! The size of the clitoral portion is not too big and not too small - thus, it provides strong vibrations that are pin-point enough while still resonating throughout the clitoral area without being too diffuse. It is flexible and does not push too hard against the clitoris, it lays there without firm pressure. For more pressure, you can loop your finger around by the base, which works well with how you hold the toy overall. No concerns about cramping hands or awkward positioning - it was designed like this for a reason. Two fingers through the loop and one behind the clitoral stimulator is very comfortable. Angling the toy upward also increases clitoral pressure. The insertable portion is slim but rigid - it has a vertically bulbous design meant to provide good g-spot pressure when angled or thrusted. The Soraya is not as large in circumference as the Lelo Ina, and not as bulbous, but gives good stimulation, similar in size to the Lelo Gigi but with stronger vibrations and better patterns.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Aside from the amazing innovative and ergonomic design, the functions are where Soraya shines boldly. The control pad is a revelation for Lelo! The buttons are slightly embossed in the the silicone - responsive but not too sensitive. They got it just right! A simple press does the trick but no worries about accidentally changing modes, and conversely you don't have to press to hard either. This toys is perfect for travel, as it is rechargeable and the interface can be locked. The interface lights up when you press a button but does not remain lit up. It flashes while charging until fully charged. To charge, push through the dimple of silicone that cvers the charging port on the handle end of the toy. The port is vacuum sealed, so that thin skin of silicone is there more for the user's convenience (not having to clean lube out of this area or dust getting in there) and not so much for protection from water.

Three simple buttons control the functions: +, -, and (). The + turns the toy on and increases the vibration power, the - decreases the vibration power and turns the toy off, and the () changes the patterns and stimulation modes. The design and orientation of the controls make it easy to use with one hand in the dark. Also, there are no worries about getting lube or fluids in the control pad, as the embossed buttons are part of the solid silicone design. And oooh my, the simulation modes and vibrations! Power, depth of vibrations, and interesting and pleasurable patterns are all part of this awesome package. The Soraya boasts 8 unique and powerful stimulation modes at variable vibration strengths. There are deep rumblings within some of the modes, and even on steady vibration, it is not just high-pitch. The vibes are quite intense. It is so quiet that I have used it without waking my partner while he was asleep beside me. The Soraya is remarkably discreet.

And the most exciting thing about the entire Insignia line from Lelo? It's waterproof! Yes! Finally! I tested it thoroughly, several times - it functions completely whether in the shower, underwater, or otherwise. It is 100% waterproof. This undoubtedly makes many Lelo-lovers very very happy indeed.

Care and Maintenance

Super easy to wash and care for. To wash, simply use soap and water. You cannot boil a toy like this because it has internal motors and such, but you could spray it with a 10% bleach solution, use soap, wipes, or simply use toy cleaner. It is wonderful to not have to worry about getting water in the control pads or charging port - wash without worry! Just make sure that you let the port dry before you plug it in to charge. You can store the toy in the satin bag or in the Lelo box. Water-based lubes are recommended for the Soraya - silicone lubes may not be compatible with the silicone of the Soraya and could cause degradation of the velvety texture... so stick with a good water-based lube for play time.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Lelo's iconic packaging got an upgrade! The sturdy and tasteful black box has several compartments, including a hard velvet and foam cut-out to perfectly nestle the Soraya. The comprehensive instruction manual and warranty information is included, along with the charger, a satin drawstring Lelo travel bag held in the lower compartment, and a silver Insignia symbol brooch pin. This is such a nice presentation - it oozes luxury. I think this would make a breathtaking gift for any woman.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I was overjoyed to hear about this line from Lelo. More so when I finally got to play with the toys. Waterproof and powerful? Count me in! I will use this toy for years to come, I am sure. I love the design, the functions, the waterproof aspect, and even the gorgeous salmon-y pink color. I thought the Siri (coupled with the Ella) was going to be my favorite Lelo toy combination ever ever ever - but now the Soraya has a place on my bedside table too. This is what all dual stimulators should aspire to, and is a very exciting sign of times to come from Lelo and hopefully the toy industry overall. It is a good time to be a woman, y'all!

Experience

I charged the Soraya for about 2 hours when I first got it. I have used the toy about 7 or 8 times so far in 2 weeks and have not had to charge it again yet! I found it was easy to use within the first minute of insertion - I found a comfortable handhold and angle very quickly. I have played with all of the modes over the last few weeks, and like the steady vibration almost all the way up best (mode #1), with the crazy rumbly rollercoaster pattern (#7) being my second favorite. I like the A, B, A, B pattern of #4 too. All of them are good for getting me worked up; #1 and #7 are the ones I use when I have like 5 minutes or less to get off quickly. I have had intense 2 minutes sessions with Soraya, as well as drawing it out a bit when I have felt like it. If you liked rabbit vibes or you use two toys simulataneously, this is the toy for you - no doubt!

  • Non p-spot toys for p-spot use?
    • So am I barking up the totally wrong tree or does it seem like there are some toys that would be awesome on the p-spot, even though they might not be intended for that? When I first saw the Insignia Soraya I got really curious, but is it ill-advised to be used as a man's toy? Are there any great "crossover" toys? Maybe with really strong vibes?
    • I think you could definitely use this for prostate stimulation. It may not be intended for anal use but the clitoral stimulating arm would work well as a taint stimulator and would keep the toy from getting lost in your ass so it should be safe to use.

You do whatever you want with it. :-) I have a toybox full of "straight" toys that I enjoy for anal.

  • My Two Cents (From A Soraya Owner of 1yr)
    • (Sorry in advance for how lengthy this post is.)

Just wanted to throw in my two cents for those of you that are still contemplating purchasing the Insignia Soraya.

To date, the Soraya is the most expensive toy that I own. I don't generally splurge on toys. But, the Soraya definitely checked off all the requirements I was looking for in a dual-action vibrator -- rechargeable, waterproof, ergonomic shape, strong vibration strength, quietness. So, I figured it was well worth the investment. A year later, the Soraya is still arguably my favorite toy that I own. I want to emphasize that. However, there are certain flaws that have appeared over the course of a year that I wanted to share with you.

(The following are listed in sequential order in which they occurred.)

Gapping between metallic inlay and silicone.
      ---
From the pictures, this gap is really hard to notice. However, it became more apparent even after the toy was used once. The toy's materials (ABS plastic and silicone) are very hygienic and easy as ever to clean. Yet, the tiny crevice created where these materials join together is an entirely different story. It is nearly impossible to clean this crevice. The only thing I've found that works slightly is a thin, folded piece of paper to force out some of the debris. But, don't expect any amount of soap and water to clean this crevice. This can be especially problematic if you intend on sharing your toy. I, personally, do not share my toys. But, even still, this became a little disgusting after a while.

Flaking of the metallic coating on the plastic.
      ---
After about 6 months, I noticed a small area where the metallic coating began to flake off of the plastic, revealing a not-so-shiny white plastic beneath. The area was very tiny and perhaps not so noticeable. But, given how much the toy costs, occasional use and a cleaning of warm water and soap should not be able to flake the coating off, in my opinion. It also concerned me that the toy could possibly continue to flake off when I was using the toy.

      Hole formed over charging port.
      ---
Perhaps one of the most innovative things about the Soraya is that the toy is rechargeable and waterproof. There is a tiny pinhole in the silicone that you puncture the cable through in order to charge the toy. Yet, the pinhole is so tiny that water will not get inside the toy. Unfortunately, after about 12-15 charges, that pinhole was no longer a pinhole. Over time, tiny pieces of silicone began to fragment off where the cable had punctured. The hole, while arguably still very small, became large enough for water to get inside of the toy. It was from that point on that I didn't trust the toy as being waterproof anymore. I also had to be a lot more cautious washing the toy to make sure water didn't get inside.

      Motor malfunction.
      ---
This happened about 8 months into owning the toy and I still have no explanation as to what happened. The toy reached a point where, as long as it had some charge to its battery, there was no way to turn the toy off. Even on its lowest setting, it was operating on some sort of sub-setting that was below anything the keypad could control. There was no way to turn the toy off. No minus of the arrow would turn it off. The keypad didn't even recognize the toy as being on at all. I could turn it up. But, I could never turn it off. My only option was to wait for the battery to die completely. Then, it would finally stop vibrating. As soon as I'd go to charge the toy, within a millisecond of connecting it, the motor was locked on again with no way to turn it off. It was an endless, annoying cycle. I eventually got fed up with this and took advantage of LELO's 1-year warranty.

From the minute I purchased the Soraya, it was like an investment for me. And once I received the toy, I always took excellent care of it. I always monitored the toy when it was charging to make sure it didn't overcharge and fry the battery. The toy was always thoroughly cleaned with soap and warm water. When not in use, it was stored in its original boxed packaging. All in all, the issues were mostly cosmetic. Yet, these issues led to problems with the overall function of the toy. Luckily, these issues happened sooner than later and I could take advantage of the warranty for the motor issue. I think I would have been a little more than irritated if I was only left to the 10-year warranty (which only gives you 50% off a new LELO toy).

Regardless of all of these issues, the Soraya was still the best toy I had ever purchased (when it was still functioning properly at least). All of my expectations were met and it was exactly what I was looking for. My point of writing this review is not to deter you from purchasing the Soraya. Chances are, it will be your dream toy. However, I wanted to inform you on the potential flaws of the toy. (This is to say that not everyone will have the same issues I have had.) Given the price and investment of the toy, I know many of you are going through the same intense decision-making process that I did. So, I just wanted to give you my two cents after owning the toy for a little over a year now.

Hopefully, you all will find at least some of this helpful. If you would like my feedback on anything else about the toy, I'd be more than happy to help.

      Happy shopping!

  • How is the Insignia Soraya at clean up?
    • I hear these toys are really difficult to clean :/
    • I've heard that, too, and it's really put me off them. :/

I do wonder if maybe there was a defect of if they've corrected it but I'd want something solid to go on before investing that much in something that could have really gross issues.
    • Quote: I hear these toys are really difficult to clean :/
It isn't very difficult to clean but, you do need to pay a little more attention to the this one as opposed to a toy that is a solid silicone toy. I described a seam between the metallic looking plastic and the silicone in my review. I just like to inspect that seem to make sure it is clean on a regular basis. Otherwise all you need is some soap and running water to clean this toy.
