This teeny tiny vibrator has a very limited amount of good qualities. My personal favorite is that it can be used almost anywhere, at any time. It's fairly quiet so with the faintest background noise to cover up its tiny vibrations it can easily go undetected. Study Buddy is so small it can travel with you anywhere you want to go, via purse or pocket which is fantastic, unless you forget where you've stored it(I put mine inside its package then into my purse and forgot, which gets checked by security at work... That was exciting).

Another great thing about Study Buddy was that it came prepared - with batteries. Enough batteries to let one set die out, and have another set for back up. This company seems very sure of their product, so much so that they honestly believe you may use it enough to burn out an entire set of batteries and need more. Kind of like a parent in denial that their son isn't ever getting laid but continues to provide him with condoms. This is the character that comes to mind when I think of my Study Buddy.

This toy comes in very handy during foreplay but that`s where the fun stops. I wouldn`t suggest using this toy for penetration, unless you have a very tiny vagina. There is no real girth to the toy, or length for that matter, so if it`s penetration you`re looking for I suggest a toy that already knows what it`s doing and doesn`t need to `study`.

Shane's World Waterproof Study Buddy is made of a hard plastic internal tube with a jelly rubber sleeve. Out of the box there is very little to almost no odor or taste. The jelly sleeve has an odd character shape as the design (more on this later) which I assume was supposed to be used for texture play.

Overall, the toy isn`t rough on skin but the texture didn`t do much for me. And even though I wouldn`t suggest using the Study Buddy for penetration due to the lack of size, I do suggest using lube as the material is somewhat sticky. The jelly sleeve definitely makes the experience more enjoyable (not that enjoyable is a descriptive choice word for the Study Buddy), as when the sleeve is removed the toy seems to lose vibrational power. I feel as though this toy is better suited to beginners, because an advanced user may want more power, girth, speed, and texture.

The Waterproof Study Buddy is 3 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter with the jelly sleeve on. The inner plastic tube is clear while the outer jelly sleeve is light pink with a very strange design. I call this design "smiley-cone-head-wears-suit-of-armor" because I was truly unsure what this design was actually supposed to depict. I assume this design was created solely for texture play but it didn't add very much fun to the overall experience aside from a good laugh.

As previously stated this toy is very small and thus can travel almost anywhere while being discreet. The packaging was a little too large for the toy itself, so if you have somewhere else to store this toy, be it in a smaller container or pouch, that may make it easier to travel with.

The Study Buddy has multiple speeds of vibration according to it's package, which are controlled by a small turn dial at the base of the toy. I personally was unable to detect more than once speed at first. I tried Study Buddy with its removable jelly sleeve on, for clitoral and nipple stimulation as well as slight vaginal penetration. The nipple stimulation was okay, clitoral stimulation however left me a little saddened. With the speed setting as high as it could possibly go I imagine using this toy as foreplay material is fine but expect nothing more. This toy will never get you all the way there ladies, I'm sorry.

However, I'm not a quitter, so I attempted to use the toy without the jelly sleeve to see if it made anything better, as well as in the bath later on. The sleeve was pretty hard to get off the first time, and the toy seemed to lose vibrational power without it. I then became distracted by fighting the jelly sleeve on and off this tiny toy, and after the third attempt at replacing the sleeve properly, I noticed my toy now looked like it was a thousand years old. My study buddy was covered in dust, hair, and the fun pink see-through jelly sleeve was now a dull, foggy sleeve that looked tarnished from years of wear and tear. During tubby time this toy lost almost all of what little vibrational power it does have, and I got out of the tub still wet, but not satiated.

Clearly I can`t mention enough that I do believe the functions of this toy were lacking a little in the vibe area. I personally prefer stronger vibes and multiple pattern/speed settings whereas this toy only comes with a maximum of three vibrational speeds and absolutely no vibrational patterns to choose from. Just one constant vibe that I found more than a little hard to climax with. However, there are three speed settings, although it`s very difficult to distinguish one from another as the dial doesn't give any indication while turning that you've 'kicked it up a notch'. Also, each speed setting only differs in the slightest way so it's almost an imperceptible incline.

As this was my first review I really had some studying to do (no pun intended) as I had no experience with jelly toys before now. I found that jelly rubber is known to contain phthalates and is pourous, which means this toy could break down over time. Therefore I wouldn`t recommend it for everyone, as this could potentially cause irritation or yeast infections in sensitive users.

I would also highly suggest keeping this toy safely confined to its own living area, as when mixed with other toys could spread germs, cause the material to break down, or transfer many particles of dust/lint/hair and whatever else is stuck to it. If ever a lube is needed with the Study Buddy use water or silicone-based lubricants. Stay far away from oil-based lubes as these will be the ones to break down the delicate material of the jelly sleeve.

I gave my toy a thorough wash with gentle anti-bacterial soap and water, leaving it to air-dry as I currently lack a completely lint-free towel. My toy still has lint stuck to it somehow and I can guarantee that this was a one-time play date for me.

Shane's World Waterproof Study Buddy comes in a basic, see-through plastic packaging that was too large for the actual product, but is easily recycled. The package has what appears to be a girl dressed for gym class on the front and back. I found there was little smell to this tiny toy, which was one of very few good qualities I could muster up, and believe me I tried. The only instruction information included inside this package was a small paper guide on how to insert the batteries... The triple 'A' batteries... This toy runs on 4 watch batteries...

It saddens me to know that there are still study buddies out there, not quite living up to a female`s expectations. I also feel I`ve learned a lot from this experience. If I come across study, job, work, or anything of the sort in the opening credits (a.k.a. name) of a toy, I`m throwing it at someone and running away really fast. I don`t want to work for this toy, I simply want a toy that works for me!
