Super Soft or Super Not..
It may be hit or miss, but I love this shirt and hope they can work out their material standards. Over all a great idea to get one and I will continue to wear mine with pride.Published: November 22, 2011
Pros:
Really soft, bright bold colors, great fit.
Cons:
Variation in material, unpredictable.
Who doesn't love a free t-shirt? The first order I got this shirt with was in the size large which I felt ran pretty true to size for me at least. It was incredibly soft (the softest shirt I have ever owned) and it was very stretchy due to having a high spandex content. The collar wasn't tight and the sleeves were a longer length but surprisingly it was comfortable. I loved the shirt so much that I just knew I had to order a second in fear of anything happening to my first one.
I ordered another size large since I liked the way it fit but was disappointed in the variation of the two shirts. This one was more of a cotton, and was thick not stretchy, smelled bad, and had speckled lettering. The collar is tight and the sleeves were even tighter. I washed it several times and the scent is gone but its still not super soft like the first one. I will be turning the later of the two into a cool reconstruction project (a tank top or halter) for the spring.
Neither of the shirts have the material or care tags inside, just a simple size tag, but you can feel the difference in material and know whether you got the more spandex one or the cotton one. So for me I have to say the shirt can be hit or miss. I haven't had any shrinking issues with either one. I love the bold colors and I'm personally not afraid to wear it in public. I sport my EdenFantasys shirt with pride. I recommend you get the shirt because you will either be so incredibly happy with it (if you get the soft one) or there are tons of tutorials on t-shirt re-construction on the net. I'm sure you can find a fun and unique way to wear your EdenFantasys attire.

I normally wear a medium or a large. I ordered this shirt in XL so that I could wear it lounging and for sleep. Its so small though. It came about a medium or a small. Im afraid to wash it and see it shrink

I have three of these - one large, and two XL. The large was a bit snug, but the XL are fine, and have held up to repeated washings well.

There were actually a couple different types of EF shirts. The XL and larger shirts were sized a little smaller than expected, but the L and smaller shirts were right on with their sizes.

Why does it seem like I received one shirt made out of a thinner and softer material than the other shirts I received? Has anyone else experienced this?

The first was very thin, stretchy, and really a great shirt since it is sized so small. The second was a very thick material with no stretch to it at all! I cannot even get that one on, even though it should fit exactly like the first one I received. The third shirt is wearable, but again is thicker material than the first, at least this one has a bit more stretch to it than the second one!
I would wager a guess that they are ordering these made up using the "most cost effective" material available, which would account for the varied material (which ever one is cheaper to make that day).
I know that I was happy with the first one, so I ordered more to "modify" some of them as I had seen in a video here. As it stands now...I have one to hide in the closet, one to tuck away for "emergency t-shirt needs", and one I can actually wear and enjoy.
So long as they are offering these free with purchase, I may get a few more (they'll make good rags if nothing else), but I wouldn't spend the $15 asking price on them with the materials being so varied from order to order! -
Good to know, and I hope the one I'll get in my next order will be a soft material.
