Take Me High, Butterfly!

The Wild Butterfly is a diamond in a sea of less-than-stellar in its competing market. It may not be large and provide direct clitoral stimulation, but it holds a variety of uses. It's worth a try for many folks.

Use

The Love Rider Wild butterfly (just Wild Butterfly from now on), is a toy that deserves a second look. Sure, it may not look like much, but don't let its whimsical nature fool you. The Wild Butterfly is classified as a rabbit because it stimulates both the G-spot and clitoris. It is an improved version of some Venus Butterflies that are out. It's size and appearance make it a great option for beginners but can satisfy a majority of users. So long as you don't need hardcore vibrations, then this could be an option for you.

This toy is a very good value, offers pretty decent vibrations, and can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used solo during masturbation. You can use a stronger clitoral vibe while this one is inserted. Technically, the toy could be used anally since the butterfly acts like a safe, flared base. However, this toy has quite a few nooks and crannies, so it is not the easiest to clean. If you're determined to use this toy anally, it's best to use a condom.

This can also make a great couples toy. One partner can insert the toy and hand the other one the controls. You can also let one partner control how the toy moves inside their partner by gently moving it side to side. Overall, this toy will work for just about anyone except size queens and those who need intense vibrations. It also doesn't have the most targeted clitoral stimulation, so if this is a must, this will not work for you. The Wild Butterfly isn't very loud and is waterproof, so it is great for discretion and those who live with others.

Material / Texture

The Wild Butterfly is coated with silicone, which is rare for toys of this price range and style (makes it a greta plus). Silicone ranks a 10 out of 10 on the material safety scale and is hypoallergenic. It is also non porous, so bacteria cannot grow inside the toy. The controller of the toy is made of smooth plastic. The entire toy is pink. It's a pretty deep, fuchsia type of pink. While the black looks nice, it would probably show a lot more lint.

There are textures on the toy. The penis on the butterfly is somewhat realistic. The head has the look of an interesting circumcised penis. The head has a few ridges. The sides of the shaft have some indented lines on them. A seam bisects the toy in half. The seam can be seen at the top of the shaft lengthwise. The top there is also indented; it does a nice job covering up the seam. The shaft is also slightly curved up to stimulate the G-spot. The textures can be felt slightly, but it is not extreme or would keep users from enjoying the toy.

The butterfly has textures. The wings are thin and flexible. The antennae are thicker but still flexible. Overall, the toy is fairly solid but it can bend with a little force. It will sat where you put it. There are not overt smells to the Wild Butterfly.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

This toy is on the smaller side. This is not a toy for size queens in any dimension. It does make it beginner friendly, though. The Wild Butterfly is 3.5 inches long with an insertable length of 3 inches. This is enough length for most G-spots (which is about 2-3 inches). The Wild Butterfly has a max circumference of 4 inches. For comparison, the average circumference of many vaginal toys is around 4 to 4.5 inches, so it's on the smaller side of the range.

This toy is not really designed for trusting. If the toy is inserted, you have to grab it by the somewhat flimsy wings to move it. It is possible, though. You can sit on the toy once it is inserted and rock back and forth. As I said, this toy is not meant for a "full" feeling, but it's a relief for those who have shorter, more petite vaginas. If you have a small vagina, then you won't worry about this toy going in too deeply. Here it is compared to a standard dildo and pencil.

The Wild Butterfly is quite discreet. It is more quiet when inserted than outside the body. For utmost discretion, it is best to insert the toy first and then turn it on (however, having it on can ease insertion for some folks). The noise for the Wild Butterfly ranges from 1 to a solid 2 Bees when outside the body and a milder 2 Bees when inside the body. The Wild Butterfly is pretty easy to travel with. Just be sure to remove the batteries when traveling because the toy could turn on during travel.

The Wild Butterfly is not discreet; it's obvious it's a sex toy. The cord could be a little longer because it can get in the way at times. The cord is about or less than two feet long.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functions for the Wild Butterfly are easy to use. It has two buttons. A power button and a button that looks like waves on it. Here's a picture of the controller.

To turn the toy On, hit the bottom power button (if the wire is facing up). One red light will appear on the toy as it turns onto it's lowest intensity. The first intensity is about a low 3 Vrooms. To reach the other settings hit the wavy button. The 2nd intensity lights up a seconds red light and is about a high 3 Vrooms. The final intensity setting lights up all three red lights. It is a very high 3 Vrooms to low 4 Vrooms. Even though the toy might be a low 4 Vrooms, it averages at three, hence the rating I give it. The intensity should work for the average to sensitive user. Those who need a solid 4 Vrooms may not enjoy this one as much.

There are also patterns if you press the wavy button again. The lights also reflect the pattern the toy going at. They are:

1. Pulses
2. Rumbly Roller-coaster
3. Longer Pulses
4. Three short pules, then 1 Long one

The vibrations are rumbly but not super rumbly. If you squeeze the toy your hand will get numb. The toy is marked as waterproof. The control cage has a rubber rink to prevent water. I would still choose not to submerge it, just to be sure. The Wild Butterfly takes 2 AAA batteries and the batteries last at least a couple of hours.
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

Care for the Wild Butterfly isn't that bad. The textures need to be minded when cleaning. Soap and water, toy wipes, or toy cleaner works, but the textures make wipes an excellent choice. Debris can and will collect around the ridges at the head of the penis and on the seam of the toy. This does take extra time for cleaning but is worth it. The Wild Butterfly doesn't appear to collect a lot of lint for being silicone.

Only water based lubricants should be used with this toy. Silicone based lubricants could damage the toy.

Once clean and dry, you can store the Wild Butterfly in a lint free cloth. Make sure it is not in direct contact with other silicone, rubber, or jelly toys. This will prevent cross contamination and chemical reactions to the silicone coating.
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging for the Wild Butterfly is pretty standard. It is a standard sex toy box made of cardboard. Open the box and you'll find the Wild Butterfly in a little styrofoam-like packaging. If you open that styrofoam nicely, you can store the toy in that. The packaging is not discreet or designed for long term storage.

Experience

I was eyeing this toy for a while and never could justify getting it. My partner wasn't super interested in it and other toys were bought first. However, a great Friday sale made this hard to resist. When it came in, my partner was indifferent. I used it mostly for solo time with conjunction with my Life vibe. The antennae on the butterfly only teases the clitoris. This worked well. You can also assume a variety of positions when using the toy. Gyrating can make the vibrations feel more intense.

My partner walked in on me using the Wild Butterfly and decided to mess with it. We found that it stimulated my G-spot very well when he gently twisted it left and right. Some positions makes the feeling more intense. Because of this, my partner now likes the toy. Overall, I think this toy is a wonderful value and would recommend to most users.
