The Tango from We-Vibe is a discreet-looking lipstick vibe. Examining this close-up, people will realize this isn’t a lipstick, but if someone was rummaging quickly through your makeup bag or purse, it could easily pass for a lipstick. It is best used externally and provides a lot of pinpoint stimulation. The base of it only flares out a little less than a quarter of an inch, so it’s a good idea not to use this anally. It is waterproof, so feel free to take it in the shower or tub with you.

The Tango is made of smooth, hard plastic, and the button at the base has a rubber coating. The plastic seems to be quite durable, but if you drop this toy, it may crack or break the motor, so be careful where you store it. No lint or pet hair will stick to it, and it won’t react badly with other materials, so you can keep it anywhere.

It is designed to look like a lipstick, and We-Vibe has done that very well. I got the purple one; I actually have a purple lipstick almost like this, but you can get this toy in red or blue. The tip is slanted to give you a nice, flat surface for pinpoint stimulation on your clitoris or on any other body part. The rest of the toy is perfectly cylindrical in shape.

The total length is three-and-a-half inches with an insertable length of three inches. The circumference is two inches, so as you can see, it is very compact.

The Tango is operated by one push button at the base. During your travels it probably won’t turn on, but I won’t say it’s impossible to do so, and there’s no locking feature to keep it from turning on.

There are four steady vibration levels that increase gradually in strength. After the steady vibrations, there is a slow pulsing pattern, then a roller-coaster pattern, then faster pulsations, and then two long pulses followed by three short ones. To turn it off, you can cycle through all of the modes or just hold the button down for a couple of seconds. Pressing the button again will bring you to the same pattern you left it at.

The button requires some effort to push, so you may not accidentally change it during use. The vibrations are deep, rumbly, and extremely quiet. When some pressure is applied to it, the vibrations decrease slightly, but not enough to be disappointing. You can feel the vibrations travel throughout the whole toy, so you may get numb fingers after using it for a while.

Most lipstick vibes on the market take tiny watch batteries, but the Tango is rechargeable. The charger plugs into a little tray that connects to the Tango with magnets. The base doesn’t stand upright, so you’ll want to recharge it in a place where it won’t roll around and become disconnected. There is a little light that comes on while charging. The toy can last up to two hours, depending on what setting you use, and it only takes ninety minutes to recharge.

Since it is waterproof, you can easily clean this under running water with antibacterial soap or a toy cleaner. It is completely smooth, so there are no hidden areas to worry about.

There is a nice bag that came with this toy that you can store everything in. Since the Tango is made of plastic, you can use any type of lube with it. There is no drag on this toy, so you may not need any lubricant.

The Tango arrives in a flimsy box and comes with a white satin storage bag with drawstrings, a booklet, the charging cable, and the charging base. The Tango itself lies in a plastic tray, wrapped up in plastic with the charging base right beside it. Underneath the tray you’ll find the storage bag, charger, and booklet. The booklet talks about care and maintenance tips and gives minimal instructions; it also has the same in a variety of other languages.

I am extremely impressed with this little lipstick vibe. I was looking for something I could pack in my purse discreetly, and the Tango is perfect for travel and on-the-go fun. Sometimes you need to sacrifice power for a quieter toy, but not with the Tango. It is small, powerful, quiet, rechargeable, and discreet—exactly what I was looking for. I recommend this if you are looking for a nice, lightweight toy to carry around with you.
