The Better Than Chocolate is a uniquely designed toy that I like to call a crotch vibrator (I'm coining this phrase by the way!). It is best for women and clitoral stimulation because it fits perfectly in your crotch of course. It can also be used for general stimulation like nipples or external anal arousal. There is a small amount of penetration that is possible, but if you are looking for thrusting or penetration, you should look elsewhere. This goes the same for those looking for g-spot stimulation, you won't find any with this.

In terms of couple play, the unique design also does wonders for sex. It can be laid on or put between you and your partner to add extra stimulation for those who have a hard time reaching orgasm from penetration alone or those who want something extra. The vibrations are not over powering which is great for those with more sensitive clitorises. Riding the vibrations through an orgasm, will not hurt or be uncomfortable. Sometimes more isn't the best thing.

The BTC is made out of an interestingly textured TPE (thermo plastic elastomer not TPR like the Eden description says). This type of material is medical grade, non-porous, phthalate free, and latex free. This type of TPE contains no additives so it is completely non-allergenic. It feels like there is a plastic core shape with a thick layer of the TPE coating it. The surface has a slightly rough matte feel which makes it easy to hold with no slip grip. The shape itself has no give or flex and is hard. The surface texture helps with lubricant. The lubricant will stay in place easier and also does not get absorbed at all by the toy. It also has absolutely no taste or smell. This type of material is the same kind used in infant chewing toys now a days, so if it is safe for a baby mouth...I give the okay go for my vaginal region. What is also great about this material is that it doesn't collect any hair or dust. I love that I don't have to pick lint off it if I happen to leave it sitting or accidentally drop it. A quick soap rinse is just fine.

The Better Than Chocolate's design it what makes me call it a crotch vibrator. It looks kinda like a stretched out and very thick Pringle. That's the best I can do if I have to compare it to something. The shape can be perfectly cradled between your upper thighs. Total length from tip to tip is 4 1/2 inches long. Width from wing to wing is 2 1/2 inches. It does have considerable weight to it at 1/2 a pound. This weight and ergonomic shape allows you to just set the vibe down on your clit, let your crotch cradle it, and lean back to enjoy the ride.

You can also nestle the vibe further between the lips of your vulva and they will rest on the sides of the vibrator, for a more all over feeling. The shape and size of the Better Than Chocolate also allows it to fit between bodies during certain positions of intercourse, or to be laid on as well. The shape is for any experience level in my opinion. Since it fits outside the body, there is no sizing or stretching adjustments to get used to.

It is also pretty discreet even if you don't keep it in the gorgeous box it comes in. The shape is unique enough that it doesn't look like a traditional toy and the controls also make it look like some other type of nerdy device. Perhaps a remote control for something else. The light pink color doesn't demand too much attention. I would not be too worried if I accidentally left this out. The size and strong construction makes it great for travel. The Better Than Chocolate has the most interesting and fun controls that I have ever seen. The power button is simple. A push button for on and off is located at the opposite point as the clitoral stimulator. The button is under the material, which means it won't get stuck or be finicky like other toys. Once the toy is on, there are many options. The circle with the NT logo on it will cycle through the different vibration patterns if you hold your finger on it for 2 seconds at a time.

When the toy is first turned on, it starts with constant and steady vibrations. If you slide your finger down towards the other end of the touch slide, the vibrations will increase and if you do the opposite, they will decrease. For this particular stage, they will only decrease. They start on the strongest vibration for the on setting. This level is strong but not overwhelming which I came to appreciate. Pun intended! When decreasing, it can go down to a very mild vibration. One way I test strength of vibration is actually touching the vibrator to the tip of my nose. I know it is strong if I can't even hold it there for more than a second. At the lowest setting, I can keep it there indefinitely. A great amount of teasing could be achieving on this extremely low level.

The next vibration pattern is a up and down pulsing. This can be made much faster or slower to have bigger gaps between the pulses. These patterns range from average to fairly strong-but again, not overwhelming or super impressive. The third vibration pattern has bigger gaps between the vibrations from the start and it is not an up and down pulse but a pulse of the same level. So with these three settings and the up and down sliding control, there are many more levels of vibration. If you find one you like and you don't want to accidentally touch and change it, just hold your finger at the other end of the touch for two seconds. This will lock the vibration in place. To unlock do the same. If you tap the on/off button lightly you can even create your own pulsing patterns. I discovered this when I was just fooling around with it.

The Better Than Chocolate is extremely quiet, especially for how much power it has and of being of hard construction. On the middle levels it can hardly be heard at all. On the highest levels, it still is really quiet and would never be heard through a door or even across a decent sized room.

The Better Than Chocolate can also please you in the shower, bath tub, or even a deep hot tub. It is water proof up to 1 meter! Not that you would even need it to work 3 feet underwater, but the fact that it does makes me feel even more confident that it will continue to work. The textured material makes it easy to hold when wet. Make sure the battery compartment is closed properly before submerging however. Another awesome feature is that if this is submerged in water, it will automatically lock. So find your desired pattern before putting it under. Once wet, it can only be changed by drying.

The Better Than Chocolate takes two AAA batteries. I was surprised with the amount of power for the small batteries. To open the battery compartment, twist to the left 45 degrees. The end cap will pop off and you can slide the two batteries in. Putting the cap back on took a few tries at first to make sure it was secure. With a little trial and error I was able to figure it out and remember how to do each time after. Make sure to remove the batteries after use.

The TPE material can be used with water based and silicone based lubricant, although I didn't need any to use it. To clean, use mild water and soap. To store, the beautiful box it came in or the pouch are perfect and discreet.

Nomi Tang has done a service to the environment and reduced plastic packaging as much as possible. The box that The Better Than Chocolate comes in so pretty. It is just large enough to fit the toy and is made of a thick cardboard/paper material. There is a cardboard sleeve over the box that displays a picture of what is inside and a few words about the product. This slides off and can be recycled.

The box opens like one that would hold a ring (I would say yes if I was proposed to with this for sure!). Inside is a plush velvet cut out where the toy is nestled in place. The presentation is amazing. If you want to use the box for something else, you can remove the velvet cut out and place something else inside. Below the toy is a super soft velvet pouch that is also just big enough to fit the toy inside and close with a draw string. I rather like the box and decided to use the pouch for a different toy that lost its home long ago. Also inside is a small packet for instructions, care, and info that is in a multitude of languages. There is also a small compliment card that has a message from Nomi. I felt extra special having this toy to enjoy!

Having said all of that...phew! I was really impressed with The Better Than Chocolate! It fit my body perfectly, and I don't doubt that it will fit most, if not all other woman's pelvic regions. The vibrations were so perfect for me because they were not over powering. I was able to achieve orgasms how I wanted and when I wanted.
