The price of sleek design?
While Mia succeeds in being discreet and quiet, I thought it was weak, did not hold enough charge, and it broke far too quickly. I'm disappointed because in theory, it was a great design, but in practice it is overpriced and not worth it.Published: November 16, 2011
Pros:
discreet and quiet, rechargeable, attractive design
Cons:
broke quickly, weak, took too long to recharge for not enough power
Mia is a well designed vibrator. Its hard plastic body has a sleek and sophisticated shape to it, and it is small and discreet. It has a USB plug so you can recharge it with your computer instead of using batteries. The buttons are unobtrusive and it's pretty quiet. The execution of these properties, however, left a lot to be desired.
I am the type of person who needs sexual release at least once a day, so naturally, my vibrators get a lot of use. As a result, I don't like to use battery operated vibrators because it's a huge waste of money for me. Part of the attraction to Mia was it's rechargeable qualities. Unfortunately, it took a lot longer for it to charge (maybe 4 hours) than it did for me to use the charge up (probably 30 minutes). As it lost charge, the vibrations, which were already a little weak, would grow weaker, leaving me in a situation where getting off with the Mia was not going to be a likely ending.
The buttons, while unobtrusive, were also a little annoying. There is a + button and a - button, and you basically scroll through a number of speeds and settings. When you're in the heat of the moment, the last thing you want to do is fumble with these controls to find the right setting, or to find that instead of going a speed higher, you've stumbled into the pulsing vibrations. The buttons were also not super easy to press when the vibe was "in position", which was also unpleasant.
The hard plastic is easy to clean, but makes my clitoris sore after a while. It's not meant to be inserted, and is a bit small for that anyway. It does succeed in being discreet and quiet, but I found it to also be a little weak, even on the strongest setting, and combined with the waning power, found it hard to get off.
The biggest problem I had with the Mia, however, was that it broke pretty quickly. Probably within two months of me purchasing it.

Mias USB cover cap
-
I've done a little reading up on the Mia and found that many people were having problems with the cap falling off during use. Since Mia is not waterproof, I wanted to know if this was a defect or is this is something that happens to the Mias over time. I am looking to get one for my girlfriend, but wanted to know more about this problem before I purchase it. Also, I read that LELO has made improvements to Mias motor. Is that the only improvement that was made? Or does anyone have the same problem with the cap falling off on the new Mia?
Thanks!!

Any USB vibrators that you can use WHILE they are charging?
-
So I see there's no way you could use this one while it's charging, and apparently the same goes for the Fairy Baby. Does anyone know of one you can use while it's charging via USB?
-
I think the We-Vibe Tango might be usable since it looks like it's got a really long extension cord. But I don't own one.

I'd be worried about the risk of electrocution. Also, the power draw of simultaneous use and charging might fry your USB port.

New Lelo Mia?
-
Does anyone have the "new and improved" Lelo Mia? I'm curious if it's a lot better.
-
I didn't even know about the new and improved Mia, now I'm curious because I was thinking about getting the Mia with my next order.
-
I just went on the website and looked, I'm hoping that the one I order will be the new and improved one, because they said that they started making them better as of February. Now I'm even more excited to try it out :)

Thank you for viewing Mia – vibrator review page!

Thanks for the review! I'm sorry that Mia didn't work for you. Did you contact Lelo about the toy breaking so quickly? Also, they have recently revamped the Mia to be a stronger vibe.
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review. Lelo toys come with warranties!
that's not typical of Lelo toys. I would contact either Eden or Lelo to get a refund asap. Also, when you do get a toy that does break, make sure you return it and get another before you write a review. sometimes toys do break, not because they're poorly made, but because they might have a glitch or two
Thanks for the review. I'm sorry yours broke so soon. Lelo is really great about fulfilling the 1 year warranty, so if you contact them they will replace it for you.
Great review.
Thanks for the review! Like the others said, contact Lelo for a replacement/refund. And try out the extend review format next time! How would this toy be cleaned?
nice review! thanks!
Thank you for reviewing. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you!
Great review! Sounds like a real disappointment. I'm sorry to hear it caused you soreness and then broke! WOW! I would've expected much more for this "luxury" vibe and for the price too. These get a lot of hype and quite frankly, I don't have a clue why! Thank you so much for sharing your very useful info, dear
How frustrating! Good advice, though.
I'm surprised it broke that easily
Hmm, it's sad that it broke so easily. I hope if I order it i'll last longer than yours... Thanks for reviewing!
