The third incarnation of the We-Vibe is the newest, most improved version of a revolutionary couples' vibe. The concept is simple and elegant---the We-Vibe adds three kinds of stimulation to partnered sex, and it's completely hands-free! By slipping the C-shaped silicone vibe in place before sex, a woman will receive stimulation in the form of strong, rumbly vibrations to both the clitoris and the g-spot, along with a gentle girth boost---all enhancing the experience of sex. We-Vibe has been committed not only to producing a revolutionary hands-free vibrator for use during sex, but to listening to their customers. After hearing response that the We-Vibe 1 needed more variety, they improved the control button and added vibration patterns for the We-Vibe 2. And they didn't stop there---after listening to customer requests, they developed and released the We-Vibe 3, featuring a 40% power increase, longer battery life (2 hours per charge), a remote control for easier use during sex, a clever discreet induction charging solution, and a completely waterproof vibe.

While the We-Vibe 3 is a little bit anatomy-dependent, and works most effectively in certain positions, its intended use is a boon to any couple who's ever thought "this is wonderful... and would be even more wonderful with vibrations." Additionally, the powerful vibrations of the We-Vibe 3 actually are whisper-quiet, and cannot be heard through a door even when not inserted. When inserted it cannot even be heard through blankets---making this an excellent choice for anyone who has to keep quiet.

Thanks to the complete waterproofness offered by the remote control and induction charging, the We-Vibe 3 is bursting with off-label use potential as well. While the remote signal is not strong enough to work at a distance through clothes, you'll be able to find so many wonderful things to do with your We-Vibe 3 that you may not be leaving the house for a while anyway! The We-Vibe 3, like its predecessors, was designed in Canada but made in China of two motors, a firm yet flexible band, and some remote control circuitry, all wrapped up in a 5/16" coating of body-safe, odorless, tasteless, sterilizable silicone in your choice of three bold colors.

The motors of the We-Vibe 3 are rigid, but the band makes positioning the vibe easy and comfortable. The squishy silicone provides a comfortable feel, and in places where the vibe is in the most moving contact (both for the male and female), the silicone is thicker for an extra lush feeling. Where the We-Vibe is in contact with the upper wall of the vagina and the mons, there are ripples in the silicone to help with placement. These are quite malleable and will be friendly to those who don't care for texture.

We-Vibe 3's silicone is the slick, shiny variety. This means you'll apply lube to your body more easily than to the vibe, and it also means that your vibe will collect lint unless you store it in its charging case. Using condoms with such sticky silicone might be risky as well. However, the benefit to the shiny sort of silicone, for this vibe, is that it helps everything stay in place---so your g-spot vibrations are going to benefit your g-spot.

We-Vibe 3 was designed very efficiently for its task---it promises to provide stimulation to the g-spot and clitoris simultaneously, without interfering with a partner's penis. Its design is simply two motors, each held in place and connected by a thin band. The We-Vibe 3 looks like a C-shape, with the "bottom," g-spot portion becoming narrow quickly, while the "top," clitoral portion (which features the button and remote receiver) stays at a moderate width to help it hit a majority of clits. The motors are connected by a band 3/8" wide, which doesn't interfere with PIV insertion.

The We-Vibe 3 is ideally sized for what it does. Shorter than the palm of my hand at 2.75 insertable inches, it would be about 7 inches if completely flattened. About 2.5 inches reach up and over the mons, covering the clit on the way, and the remaining length of the toy is taken up by the curve from vaginal to clitoral bulges.

Considering the wide variety possible in the female body, the designers of the We-Vibe have done an excellent job providing a design to fit nearly everyone. If your clit is anywhere from 11mm to 65mm above your urethra, the clitoral portion will make complete contact for you. Even if your clit is slightly closer than 11mm, vibrations are carried well enough through the band that you won't be missing out on the stimulation.

The We-Vibe 3's third function is to add a bit of fullness during penetration. Using the Hot Rod as an example---without the We-Vibe, Hot Rod has a circumference of 5 5/8 inches at my g-spot, and 5 1/2 inches at my pubic bone. With the We-Vibe, the g-spot circumference is 6 1/4 inches, and at the pubic bone it's 5 5/8 inches---so you get a girth boost where it's appreciated, and not where it's not.

A remote control is a very exciting feature for a vibrator designed for use during sex. The thumb-sized control can easily be held by either partner, and the vibration setting changed with less than a flick of the wrist at your command. While this is thrilling, you also might worry what would happen if you dropped the control in the throes of passion. Luckily, unless the button is pressed again, the vibrations will carry on just as you left them. Also, there is a backup control button on the nose of the We-Vibe 3 itself, just as there was on the We-Vibe 1 and We-Vibe 2. So, should you drop your remote, you will still be in control.

With your remote or the on-vibe button, after pressing the vibe's nose once to power it up, you will be able to access six vibration settings. These are low, which is comparable to the Jimmyjane Form 3 on its third (of five) speeds, high, which is stronger than the Form 3 on its top setting, and which I at first mistook for a fast pattern because it feels so rumbly and amazing. It is not buzzy at all. Next begin the patterns---9 slow pulses, ~12 fast pulses, then a rollercoaster escalation, followed by a sustained fast pulse (low vibration), and finally a "Left, left, left right left!" (high vibration) pattern. A final press will turn the We-Vibe off.

One whisper-quiet but extremely powerful vibrator motor is housed in each end of the We-Vibe 3. They operate simultaneously, so you cannot have g-spot vibrations without clitoral vibrations or vise versa. The vibrations also carry well throughout the toy, so the labia and entrance of the vagina will be treated to vibrations, as will the side of the penis in contact with the vibe.

A selling point of the We-Vibe 3 compared with the We-Vibe 2 is its longer lasting power, which is advertised as two hours of use per charge. To avoid abusing the lithium-ion battery, I didn't run it for the full two hours, but I did run it for 1.5 hours in a series of 30 and 15 minute sessions at varying power levels without charging. It did not lose power over that time, so I expect it will live up to promises of two hours. Thanks to the convenient charging/storage case, this long lasting power is just an added benefit rather than an essential feature---but it's good to know, nevertheless, that the We-Vibe 3 won't quit when you need it most.

The new charging solution for the We-Vibe 3 makes all care and maintenance a breeze. Because it is seamless and waterproof, it may be washed with soap and water, or even sterilized with a 10% bleach solution. This allows use with multiple partners, or even anal and later vaginal use. As with all silicone toys, do not use silicone lubes unless you have completed a patch test with your lubricant of choice---but water-based lubes are foolproof.

Once it has been washed, it can be dried with a lint-free cloth and placed in its discreet charging pod to charge until you need it next.

The remote is seamless, but I have not read a guarantee that it is waterproof, so I have been cleaning it with a toy wipe. The remote comes with a 5-7 year battery, so you are not expected to open it.

We-Vibe 3 arrives in attractive and functional packaging. If it wasn't for the fact that the battery needs a 24-hour charge prior to first use, the We-Vibe would be excellently presented as a gift exactly as it arrives. Inside a sturdy pressboard oval container, stylishly decorated with We-Vibe 3's logo in the color of your vibe, is the We-Vibe's plastic storage and charging case.

The charging case is self-contained---place the remote in the center, each end of the We-Vibe down, and the plastic cap back on as the We-Vibe 3 charges by induction. A non-bulky charging cord attaches separately to the wall (a North American charger was shipped with mine) and to the charging case, so the case is handy for discreet travel. While sitting on your desk charging, there is no indication that there's a sex toy inside---just one small yellow LED lets you know that the vibe is taking its charge.

This charging system, which allows discretion when charging and traveling, complete waterproofness of the We-Vibe 3, and a classy futuristic look, is a very elegant and efficient solution.

The most intriguing new feature of the We-Vibe 3, and the reason I chose to review it, was that it was waterproof. Because my anatomy isn't in the bell curve, it's unusual for dual stimulators to work for me, and because I can orgasm from sex without vibration I never felt a huge drive to explore the We-Vibe as it was before. Now that the We-Vibe 3 is offered completely impenetrable to water, though, I was very excited for all the potential off-label uses.

First and most excitingly, the We-Vibe 3 can easily be used in its designed position (slim end vaginally, chubby end clitorally) while my partner penetrates me anally. This triple stimulation is one of the most divine things I've ever felt.

Because the entire We-Vibe 3 can be sterilized with a bleach solution, it can also be used for double penetration. Drawbacks to this use are that the slender end, being asymmetrical, feels a little awkward during anal insertion, and that the vibration needs to be set before the broad (remote signal receiving) end is inserted, because the remote does not work through the body very reliably. Even with those two drawbacks, this feels lovely.

Another We-Vibe 3 feature that may have you excited is the remote control. This was definitely designed as a "bedroom only" remote control, and it only works at close range. More important than distance to the remote control is alignment---the remote needs to point directly at the power button on the broad end to register its signal. It will work through clothes, but at close range, and if you're pointing down past your lady's nose. The We-Vibe 3 was not designed for discreet use in public. Though its whisper-quiet motor may be tempting (I'd feel comfortable with the lowest setting even in a museum, and all the rest would not be heard over a moderately busy coffee shop), the fact that this lacks a dedicated off switch on both the remote and the vibe itself is the finishing blow to any hopes you may have for use in public.

Even though you can't use it in public, there are enough uses behind closed doors (both intended by the designers, and original ones you'll develop yourself) that you won't need to head outside anyway!

If the clit in your life is made of steel, know as you're reading my review that I have a more sensitive clit. I actually suspect that the new, stronger motor of the We-Vibe 3 will be strong enough for those who need a lot of power---but it might be best to read a review from someone who requires more 'vroom' than I do before making your final decision.

As mentioned in the Size/Design/Shape section, the We-Vibe 3 will deliver g-spot and clitoral vibrations to nearly all women---but I happen to fall way short of the bell curve, with 7mm between my clit and urethra. Luckily, even though I fall outside the design parameters, the vibrations of the We-Vibe carry well enough through the connective band that I'm still able to get a lot of enjoyment from the clitoral portion. I can press my hips up into my partner and grind and have every bit as much stimulation as the "middle of the bell curve" women for whom the We-Vibe 3 was designed.

I found the We-Vibe 3 extremely comfortable to "wear" during sex, and comfortable to wear walking about the kitchen as well. While I generally enjoy vibrations while I'm sitting down working, keeping the We-Vibe inserted for extended periods of time while siting grew tiring after a while. If you decide to ignore my "not for use in public" advice, this vibe would be more easily worn at an art opening or a club than it would to an elegant restaurant.

For the designed use of the We-Vibe 3, we found that it improves sex in some positions more than others. Having such nice vibrations on my clit is wonderful no matter what---but the g-spot vibrations added the most, for me, in positions which highlight thrusting and filling rather than precision g-spotting. In missionary variant positions, it would seem like my partner would thrust up into my g-spot, but just sort of mash the We-Vibe up into me, without giving the usual success that his body alone brings. For doggy style, side-style, straight-up, and most female-active positions, though, the addition of girth and the delicious vibrations made our time together much more fun than usual.
