I had already tried the kegel exercise/pleasure balls from Fun Factory called Smart Balls. While they were comfortable and OK, I had never found them to be too spectacular. I decided to try the Ami set because it looked, well, just different. I never expected what showed up. First of all, they came in a package that was just gorgeous. It was a black box that opened with a ribbon. Inside the package were the three different exercise balls on a bed of velvet. It was classy.

The first thing that I noticed was that the balls were not the same rigid Elastomed of the Smartballs (which is a bit like silicone) but were soft outside. They are silicone, and although they are described as velvety, I felt they were much more like a realskin texture. The balls came in a set of three. First, there was a single ball. It was very light and not at all special in any way except that it was a little larger than most exercise balls that come in pairs. The second ball was actually 2 balls that were linked with a thick kind of core connecting them. These were weighted more and were much more like traditional pairs except for the thicker connector part. The third set is smaller, but wow, they really feel heavy.

The set comes with a booklet that give you details on the exercises you should use with a progressive plan for the different stages of use and exercise. I found these to be very useful and easy to follow which was extremely helpful. Buying toys usually doesn't require instructions, but in this case, these aren't toys per se, they are an exercise system that works muscles most people aren't even aware that they can improve upon.

The lightest ball, although weighted, was not a hard stage. It may be more useful for women who already have kegel weakness due to childbirth or other issues. The second stage was not super difficult, but I could definitely feel my muscles working. The third set was much more difficult because it was heavier but also because it was smaller, so you must work harder to keep them in which is exactly the point. Once you have gotten them to work, you really feel like you have achieved something.
