This Little Flower didn't do much for my flower

The Little Flower is an inexpensive, attractive vibrator that is perfect for anyone looking for gentle vibrations. It works wonderfully for teasing or foreplay, but the vibrations do not penetrate very deeply, so it may not satisfy those who prefer something stronger.

Use

The Little Flower is a small, two-speed traditional style vibrator that offers what I would consider to be light to moderate, buzzy vibrations. Being small, it is ideal for clitoral stimulation whether during solo play or partner sex. It is not intended for vaginal or anal insertion but could be used for external stimulation in those areas as well as any other erogenous zone. Because it is on the lower end of the vibration scale, it is ideal for teasing and foreplay as well as for anyone looking for more gentle stimulation.

Material / Texture

The plastic body of the Little Flower has a soft, velvety texture that is very pleasant feeling against your skin. There is a raised flowering vine detail on the body, which is very beautiful but isn't really felt during use. Since it is made of plastic it is considered a safe material, being phthalate-free and relatively non-porous. This material and the fact that it is a waterproof toy makes the Little Flower easy to clean; after use simply wash it with soap and warm water or toy cleaner.

I did not notice any scent when I first received this toy and it has no taste, although it does feel "powdery" against your tongue (yes, I licked it for the benefit of this review).

Design / Shape / Size

The best way to describe the Little Flower would be to say it looks like a miniaturized traditional style vibrator. It has the same smooth shape with a tapered tip for pinpoint stimulation. The flowering vine design is a nice detail that makes the vibe more appealing. While the shape of the Little Flower is rather comfortable to hold, I found it to be a bit awkward trying to change speeds during use.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I found the push button control of the Little Flower to be very frustrating. Not only was it slightly awkward for me to change the speed during use, but when changing from the low setting to high the vibrations stop while the button is depressed between speeds. To me, this disruption is rather annoying. Other than that the Little Flower performs about as to be expected from this style of vibrator. The vibrations start near the tip but travel the length of the toy, but this does not make it uncomfortable to hold since it isn't a very strong vibrator. It is rather quiet in the lowest setting; just a blanket should be enough to muffle the sound. In the high setting the vibrations are quite a bit louder than I would expect for how weak they feel to me, but they still would not be heard through a closed door if being used under the covers. I would have to describe the vibrations as buzzy, both in sound as well as feel. They are on the weaker side and to me felt shallow; they did not seem to penetrate deep enough to be very satisfying for me.

I did not use this toy in the tub or shower, but I did do a sort of water test with it because to me it did not look like it had a good enough seal to withstand complete submersion. After turning it on, completely submersed in a small bowl of water, I found that a small amount of water did seep into the threading of the toy. The water didn't get past the o-ring, but there is an area of the threading where there is a hole the water could potentially get through, making me feel that this toy would be better labeled as splash-proof than waterproof. I would be comfortable using this in the shower but not in the tub.

Care and Maintenance

The combination of the waterproof design and plastic construction make this toy extremely easy to take care of. Because plastic is such a smooth material, the Little Flower does not get dirty very easily; it is extremely easy to clean. Just soap and water or toy cleaner is enough to do the trick. Being small and made of plastic, it's relatively easy to store, whether you decide to keep it in its original box or place it in a toy box with the rest of your goodies. I have a small cosmetics pouch that I keep this and my other pocket rocket vibe stored in, keeping them both in the top drawer of my bedside table for easy access.

Packaging

The box that the Little Flower comes in is just your standard cardboard box. The label is very simple; it doesn't have any pictures or design, just a pink border with the name across the top and a cut-out that displays the flowering vine design. The box my Little Flower arrived in actually said "Little Honey" instead, which I found interesting. Overall I'd say the box would be considered discreet, minus a slogan on the back of the box that declares "Sex toys make life more fun" or something to that effect. I threw the box away right away after receiving this toy, so I don't know the exact wording, but I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed it. The box could potentially be used for storage if you don't already have a lot of other toys that you're storing. At the very least it would keep the toy from getting dirty or scratched.

Experience

I was not impressed with the Little Flower for solo play; it really just was not satisfying. The few times I was able to reach orgasm using this on my own they were so weak that I actually questioned whether or not I really did orgasm! Using it during sex was much more enjoyable and actually resulted in quite possibly the most amazing love-making session for both me and my husband. The shape and size of the Little Flower makes it fairly comfortable to use in just about any position, even missionary, which was a very pleasant surprise as most vibrators I have used before are either hard to maneuver or uncomfortable to use between our bodies. Overall I feel that the vibrations are too weak to get me anywhere when I use it alone, but they seem to be just right during sex when my fingers are not quite enough.

Awesome review! Too bad the vibrations weren't great. Thanks for describing that design on the toy. I wondered if that could be felt when I first saw this. Also, you said it's plastic and it looks like it has some kind of coating or "cote" on it maybe? I can do plastic with a silicone coating or sleeve or something similar, but not hard acrylic. If the vibrations were stronger it sounds like it would possibly be pretty decent. Thanks for the detailed review!

Kendra, I checked the manufacturer's website and it says that the Little Flower (or Little Honey) has a PU Coating. This gives it a velvet feel but it's still basically plastic. Hope that helps!

    • What's the best and most sanitary household soap that anyone's found? Is it bad to clean vibrators with regular body wash?
    • I imagine there are much worse things to clean a vibrator with than regular body wash, but a plain antibacterial soap is your best bet for simple cleaning. I use one of the scented Dial soaps, haven't had any problems yet.
    • I use watered down Bath and Body Works body wash. About one part wash and 8 to 10 parts water. I put it into a "foaming dispenser" and use it for everything from washing hands to washing toys. I have never had any material breakdown or problems.

      Watered down Ivory is also good. I've also used Sliquid Splash in a pinch, watered down, too.

      Antibacterial soap works for some people, but I get skin problems from it, eczema and dryness and occasionally even get a yeast infection from it, so I have to stay away from antibacterial soap.

      I use Cal Exotics Toy Cleaner, but I wash my toys with soap and water after every cleaning with this stuff, as it contains the same ingredients as antibacterial soaps.
