Angelo - g-spot vibrator discontinued by Fun Factory - review by joja

The Angelo is a small, pretty, unintimidating vibrator that is ideal for teasing and less power-hungry clits. It's most unique feature is the firm silicone nub at the end, which fantastically mimics fingers. Though the vibrations aren't the strongest (or deepest/rumbliest), I found that stroking my clit wit this firm-but-not-too-firm nub sent me spiraling into ecstasy. I highly recommend it for lovers of pressure and those who stroke their clits with vibes (as opposed to just holding them in place).

I did manage to get off at the highest setting just holding the toy against my clit, but it took me much longer than usual. I tend to like really strong, deep vibes, but can do with this in a pinch.

I don't recommend this toy for any kind of internal stimulation: the nub is too small and too flexible for g-spotting, and the odd shape and ribs on the side make thrusting uncomfortable. Not to mention that only 4.25 inches of the toy are insertable.

Fun Factory silicone is simply divine. The Angelo has a lovely matte finish that adds just the right amount of drag, and feels extra soft when wet. It has a light rubbery smell, but I didn't find it offensive at all. The entire toy is very bendy and squishy, especially in the last inch or so.

The texture at the sides seems to be mostly aesthetic. As I said, it is useless for internal stimulation. I found the sensation of bumps stroking the sides of my vagina to be tolerable a best, and I am a fan of bumps/ribs if applied correctly (that is, to the g-spot and/or upper walls).

The Angelo has a lovely scoop-like shape that feels great from both sides. It can be used to cup your clit or vulva, turned around for broader stimulation, or you can press the tip to your clit for more pinpoint vibes.

Since I don't think many women will like this toy as a dildo, its size and shape aside from the scoop is largely irrelevant. But for those who are curious, I found it was long enough to thrust and reach shallow g-spots, though there wasn't much to hold on to. In addition to finding the bumps on the side uncomfortable, I also found the uneven girth displeasing. The scoop is a good quarter of an inch wider than it is thick, which made me feel like all the simulation I wish was going to my g-spot was going to the side walls, which are relatively insensitive.

My only other gripe with this toy is the battery compartment. Fun Factory just can't seem to get these right. The cap twists off the end rather easily, but feels cheap and even squeaks the first few times. Also, it is hard to get back on correctly after taking it off.

The Angelo has four functions in total: steady vibration at variable speeds, and slow, medium, and fast "roller coaster" pulsations.

To turn it on, hold the plus button for one second. This will bring you to the lowest vibration speed, which is practically nonexistent. From this point you can press or hold the plus or minus buttons to adjust the speed. One nice thing about this toy's speeds is that they increase gradually, not in pre-defined increments. Practically, though, I'd say there are about eight distinguishable speeds.

Once you reach the highest vibration level, hold the plus sign again to move to the slow roller coaster. Tap the plus to cycle through the roller coaster speeds. Pressing the minus button at any time during these functions will take you back to the highest speed of steady vibrations. It sounds complicated, but it's actually much more intuitive than it sounds. My only complaint about the function is that simply holding the minus button until you reach the lowest speed doesn't turn the toy off - it just makes the vibration speed impossibly low, and requires a second press to fully turn off.

The motor is located about an inch below the tip, at the thickest part of the toy. The vibrations travel well, but decrease a bit when used with heavy pressure. This toy is marketed as fully waterproof, but I have misgivings about submerging it. The battery compartment is sealed with a thin rubber ring, but there is almost a millimeter between the cap and the base when it's fully closed. I haven't had any problems with leaking in the shower or while washing it in the sink.

The buttons are delightfully squishy and fun to press, though I dislike having to hold them down so often.

The Angelo's insertable portion is silicone, which is a body-safe material. It is non-porous and sterilizable. Just be sure not to use it with silicone-based lube, which can degrade the material.

Silicone can easily be cleaned with soap and water, sex toy wipes/cleaner, or rubbing alcohol. Like most silicone toys, the Angelo is a bit of a lint magnet, so it would be best to store it in an air-tight box or plastic bag.

I was surprised by this toy. Based on the other reviews, I wasn't expecting it to be strong enough to get me off. It certainly isn't as strong as I usually like, but once I discovered how to use the tip to my liking, this became a go-to toy for me. I actually enjoy the fact that I take longer with this toy, because it gives me more powerful orgasms.

For me personally, I give this toy 5 stars. However, I'm knocking it down a star because it's clear to me that I use it in a pretty unique way that will not work for everyone.
