Ami - sex toy by Je Joue - review by Jessica (Buttercup Green)

The Ami set is a sex toy meant to be used for vaginal and kegel exercises. Included in this set are the Ami 1, Ami 2, and the Ami 3. This set is so easy to use. Simply apply some water based lube, insert while in your position of choice, and start moving. It takes only a slight movement to get the inner weighted balls moving. This movement can be arousing. It didn't do anything extreme, like bring me to an orgasm. It did keep me sexually aroused all day. When wearing an Ami, I find myself wetter and more sensitive around my nether regions. To remove, just slowly tug on the retrieval cord until the Ami you are wearing comes out. I would not use this toy for anal usage. I don't feel safe using it in that manner, and so I warn against it.

Je Joue used silicone and ABS plastic for the Ami set. These toys have no smell or taste. Silicone and plastic are very safe materials. Both are nonporous, which means the Ami can be disinfected. When using the Ami, be sure to only use water based lubes. Silicone lubes can harm the silicone on your toy. The silicone used is very plush, soft, and has a wonderful drag. Silicone is very beginner friendly, because it is so low maintenance. The silicone middle of the Ami 2 and Ami 3 is extremely flexible.

Ami 1 is shaped liked a round ball. It has a diameter of 1 1/2". The weight of the Ami 1 is 1.65oz or 47 grams. This was very beginner friendly. I am new to kegel exercisers, and I found the Ami 1 to be very comfortable and easy to insert. I found that standing up was the best position for me when inserting and taking out the Ami 1. I had no problem keeping this one in at all. I used this one for about a week and then moved up to the Ami 2. While I didn't use the Ami 1 very long, I would not say it has become useless. The weighted ball still feels amazing when inside me. I love wearing it out in public.

Ami 2 is a whole other story. Instead of one ball, there are two! Each ball has its own weighted ball inside. She is quite a bit heavier than Ami 1. She weighs in about 2.75oz or 78 grams. Each ball is symmetrical and has a diameter of 1 1/4". The Ami 3 is very similar in shape, but has a smaller diameter of 1 1/8". The Ami 3 is extremely weighty. This baby weighs in at 3.73oz or 106 grams. She is an extreme challenge. The one thing I absolutely love about the Ami 2 and Ami 3 is there is no hard plastic connecting the balls. The only connector they have is pure silicone. This means that they are both very flexible, and will shape with your body. The shape is not a problem for me. I have not had any issues of not being able to keep the whole thing in. No balls are popping out with the Ami set. I worked with the Ami 2, and I felt an immediate difference. I had to constantly work my kegels to keep it in. Once I was able to wear the Ami 2 all day, I switched to the Ami 3. This was a doozy. I cannot wear the Ami 3 for more than a couple of hours at a time. My kegels become tired and sore really fast with this one. I tried for about a week, but I can't handle it yet. I am now back to the Ami 2, but I do relish the challenge that the Ami 3 presents.

All three have a handy dandy retrieval cord that is made from silicone. The cord is attached to an ABS plastic end piece. This cord is very stretchy, and I have tugged on it hard many of times. My Ami set is still going strong. In my opinion, this kegel set is very discreet. It does not look anything like a sex toy. The small and discreet size make the Ami set very easy for travel.

Almost everything about this toy is perfect. Notice I said almost? There is one tiny flaw with the Ami. Lubes and other fluids can get stuck between the plastic end piece and the silicone. This requires a little attention when cleaning. I was able to feel the balls move very easily in the Ami 1 and Ami 2. I couldn't tell if the balls in Ami 3 were moving. I think Ami 3 is more of a weight challenge than anything. It is a challenge alright. Except for making my kegels sore when I used the Ami 3, all were very comfortable to wear. When wearing any one of the Ami set, I could not hear it at all. They were very quiet.

I have already stated most of this, but what the heck! Silicone is only compatible with water based lubes. When storing, keep away from other silicone toys. The box it comes in is great for storing the Ami. With silicone, you can totally disinfect your toys. Je Joue recommends cleaning with water and antiseptic soap. They suggest that if you want to boil your Ami, only do so for 20 seconds at the max. When I clean this toy, I run my fingernail underneath the plastic piece to make sure no fluids are caught underneath.

As with all Je Joue toys, the packaging is very nice. A very sturdy, black case is what the Ami calls home. When you untie the black ribbons, you will open this box to find your set of three kegel exercisers. There is a black cardboard cutout that states the name of each exerciser ( Ami 1, Ami 2, Ami 3 ). Each Ami has its own little mold in a plastic tray. Lift this tray up, and you will find the Je Joue instruction manual for the Ami set. This manual just gets you comfortable with the Ami. Je Joue informs you of the materials they used to make the Ami, cleaning instructions, how to locate your PC muscles, and two kegel exercises. This package is very discreet, and it also makes for excellent storage.

This was my very first set of vaginal exercisers. I love, love, love the Ami. Each once feels amazing in their own way. I really doubted that the Ami was going to do anything. I thought to myself, "Hey I am 19 years old! How much exercise do my kegels need?" It turns out they needed a lot of exercise. I have more intense orgasms, and my husband said I feel tighter already.
