Wonderland - The mystical mushroom - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by KrissyNovacaine

This has to be my least favorite toy out of Doc Johnson's Wonderland line. It's a good toy, but that is all that it is. It's marked as a clitoral vibrator, but I can't get it to sit right at all, and it's not long enough to reach my g-spot. Now if you have a shallow g-spot, this may be a great toy for you to use for g-spotting, but for me it was a dud.

This is not anal safe because it lacks a flared base. It can be used to stimulate the anus externally if that's your thing.

The toy portion of this is made out of a smooth silicone while the handle is made from firm, smooth plastic. While the silicone is smooth, there are two tiny seams that run along the sides of the toy. These are barely noticeable to the eye, and I can't feel them at all when I use it.

Neither plastic or silicone has any odors, nor did they retain any.

This has small lines that are in the silicone that make the spots of the mushroom, but other than that, this toy is basically smooth.

This is the only toy that I had an issue with aesthetically. It wasn't based on an actual character. All of the other toys in the wonderland line are based on a character. Couldn't we have a Mad Hatter or March Hare? Maybe Alice? It seems like a silly complaint, but when I have my collection out, this one just seems out of place. I feel that they could have done something much cooler.

On to the specs, the Mystical Mushroom is 5.25" long with 4" of that actually being insertable. It's got a 4.5" circumference measured around the very widest part of the tip. It's pretty slim otherwise. It's easy to hide and travel with, but all of the Wonderland toys are.

This is a nice size for beginners. I often recommend a Wonderland toy for beginners.

This runs on 1 AA battery, and is quite strong. It's not quite as powerful as my high intensity bullet, but the texture makes up for that. The vibrations are well balanced throughout the cat, there doesn't seem to be a place that they are specifically centered. It's about as loud as my cell phone on vibrate, so it's not going to be an issue at all behind a closed door, but you may not want to use it with your dorm mate sleeping in the same room.

The functions pick up where you left off, so if you have a favorite it will always start with what you used last. I actually don't normally like functions, but a lot of these I am finding really enjoyable. I like the strong pulses. Turning this off just requires holding the button down for about 2 seconds, and it will shut off. The button flashes a white light in time with the function you are using which my partner likes, because it makes using it on me simpler for him.

The waterproof seal on the battery compartment works perfectly. This has accidentally had a swim in a full sink of water with no ill effects.

Silicone is a 10 on the EF safety scale because it is sterilizeable, but because this has a plastic base a lot of that is lost. You can still wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution to sterilize it, but you can't boil it or put it in the dishwasher. This is cleanable with mild soap or toy cleaner and warm water. I do have to point out that the crevices of the design and the ridge of the head make this hard to fully clean.

Silicone cannot be used with silicone lubricants, so make sure you stick to water based lubes. Same rules apply for storage. You don't want to store this touching other silicone products. The packaging for this makes a great storage option.

The packaging on this is above and beyond what I would expect for a toy in this price range. On the outside, there is a cardboard sleeve that you slide off. Inside of that is the box which has a picture of the toy on it. Then the toy is nestled in a 7"long box that has a magnetic closure. This keeps the toy tucked safely inside. I have thrown this box with my Mushroom inside into a backpack for travel, and it has stayed perfectly safe. I use the box as a permanent storage solution for this toy because it is so perfect for it. The user manual is nestled under the tray that has to be carefully pulled out.
