The Trojan 5.3 is a multi-position vibrator meant for G-Spot stimulation. The soft silicone end can also be used for clitoral and labial pleasure. The bulbous end of the 5.3 may be difficult for a new or smaller user to work with, but with a little lubricant it shouldn't be impossible. The silicone warms nicely to the skin during play, making thrusting more enjoyable. I think the 5.3 sits right in the middle, perfect for beginning to intermediate users. While there is plenty of variety offered with the multiple positions and functions, the vibrations may not be strong enough to satisfy a more advanced user. It is easy to grasp and hold during play and I found it suitable for both solo and partner play. It is only splash proof, so use care when cleaning and save this one for dry lands.

In insertable end of the 5.3 is made from 100% silicone. It features three small ridges near the head of the toy to increase sensations. There is a slight give to the silicone, but it is very firm in feel. It can drag a bit, so be sure to lubricate if necessary. It does not smell or have any taste to it. The handle part of the 5.3 is made from hard, smooth plastic, with no give at all. The texture makes is easy to grasp, even when slippery. Both textures would be suitable for the full range of user.

The 5.3 twists into three different positions, making finding the right one to hit your G-Spot a bit easier. The shape fit my body very well, but may be a little short for some users. It measures 9" total length, but only 6 3/4" of that are insertable. It measures 1 1/2" in circumference, with the head tapering down, then widening back at the opposite end, which is the battery compartment. I feel this this a bit of wasted space, and the silicone portion could have been extended down a bit further to add more length. As a result, advanced users might be left feeling a little less than satisfied, without the use of a second toy. Travel with it should be fairly easy, just pack it away in it's drawstring pouch and slide it into a carry on or your checked luggage. While not the most discreet in size, if you are quick with controls and get it turned off, it could be slid under a pillow or hidden beneath blankets.

Unscrew the end cap of your 5.3, and insert the 2 required AA batteries, which are included. Make sure to line up the two pieces correctly or you won't be able to get the compartment closed. Once the batteries are in, use the + and - buttons on the bottom of the toy to scroll through the different patterns of vibrations. You can also move backwards, and turn of the toy, by using the - button, which is a nice extra feature. They are easy to use while playing with the toy. The direction of the shaft is controlled by twisting it at the center. I would recommend setting the shaft position before play, as it is not as easily adjusted in the heat of the moment. The vibrations produced are low and fairly rumbly and travel well through the length of the toy. They are just not on the super strong side. In addition, this toy produces quite a bit of noise, so it would not be the best choice if privacy is a concern. The 5.3 is also not a good choice if you are in the market for a waterproof toy, as it is only splash proof/water resistant.

As you can see, there are tons of options, I just wish the 5.3 had a bit more intensity.

The 5.3 is easy to care for and maintain. When not in use, remove the batteries and store in the provided satin pouch. This will keep it lint free, as the silicone end can be a bit of a magnet. Wash it with soap and water, toy cleaner or use a wipe before and after each use. Since the 5.3 is only splashproof, do not completely submerge it underwater when cleaning. This also means it cannot be put in the dishwasher, boiler or otherwise sanitized for sharing. If you choose to share, use a toy cover or condom for safety. If a lubricant is needed, choose a water based one, as the toy is partly silicone, and could be damaged with a silicone lubricant.

Like the other toys in the Trojan Midnight Collection, the 5.3 come packaged in a sleek purple and gold cardboard box. While the box is too bulky and complicated for storage, make sure to take a look at it, as it provides product information and tips. Once you are done, it can be recycled.



Because the box is a bit conservative, and does not scream 'sex toy', it would make a good choice for a gift or for someone new to the sex toy game.

If the 5.3 had more intensity, was waterproof or a bit less expensive, it would have received 5 stars. All in all, I enjoyed it and still use it, but I was expecting a bit more for the price.
