Ami - vaginal exerciser by Je Joue - review by Tori Rebel

The Ami kegel exerciser set is great for woman looking to increase the strength of their pelvic floor muscles, whether it be for added sexual pleasure, to tighten muscles after childbirth, or to help with or ward off incontinence. This set has been created for a wider audience than most kegel exercisers, as it contains three different lavish silicone pieces, each a different size and weight for different levels of user experience and strength. In addition, the slight vibrations of the Ami 1, 2, and 3 may bring the wearer a bit of unexpected pleasure as an added bonus. They can be worn out and about during normal daily activities as your own little secret while they add tone and strength to your kegel muscles.

Each exerciser in this set, the Ami 1, 2, and 3, is constructed of the same material. At their centers they are a hard rigid material, each containing a different weight. The outside of each is a thick, super smooth, deep plum colored silicone that is also completely non-porous, phthalate free, hypo-allergenic, odorless, and latex-free. The silicone on the Ami exercisers is not tightly affixed to the inside weights, as it can actually be tugged and moved across the rigid inner body of each.

At the base of each exerciser is a purple plastic ring, tightly affixed, with the loop of stretchy purple material used for retrieving the toy, or for a slight tug to increase resistance. The premium body-safe material provides a moderate amount of drag against the skin and delicate tissues, and with a slight bit of water based lube where needed, should be comfortable for any user.

The Ami set contains 3 different exercisers each of their own shape and size.

The Ami 1 is perfectly round, and is 1-1/2" across.

The Ami 2 is a rounded hourglass shape, 3-1/4" long, 1/2" across the center, and 1-1/4" across each round bulb.

The Ami 3 is 2-3/4" long, 5/8" across the narrow center portion, and each rounded bulb is 1-1/8" across.

Each exerciser has a stretchy 3" looped cord attached to the base. The Ami 1 and Ami 2 are of equal weight (approximately the same weight at the SinFive Emigi), while the Ami 3 - the smaller version of the Ami 2 - is twice as heavy as 1 or 2. The Ami 2 and 3 can also be slightly stretched in the center, as there is no rigid fixed portion in the middle of them. This not only makes them more comfortable to wear, but provides an additional bit of bounce and resistance while wearing them.

The set of 3 are meant to be used in a step-down pattern as your muscles grow stronger, and the user can begin with any size they are comfortable with. Some users may choose to start with the Ami 3 until that no longer proves any challenge for the muscles to grip and hold in, then go to 2, then 1. Others may be more comfortable skipping the 3 and starting on 2, or even 1. Since every body is different, this set gives the user the option to use whichever exerciser works best for them. The exercisers are also entirely smooth all the way around with absolutely no rough edges even on the plastic, and the cords are thin, flat, and comfortable.

These items could easily be left out without anyone suspecting what they are, and because despite the moving weight inside each of the Ami pieces, they are completely silent, can be worn anywhere with no one around having any idea.

The Ami exercisers can be used in one of two ways. The user can insert the toy (with lube if desired) and simply go about their normal routine, allowing the exerciser to trigger resistance in the pelvic floor muscles, tightening and strengthening them, as they walk and move about. They can also be intentionally pulled slightly further into the vagina by consciously squeezing the muscles around them. Since they are made of a body safe material, they can be worn for hours at a time as long as they aren't producing any discomfort or irritation.

Because there is a weight inside of a rigid form in each exerciser (2 in the Ami 2 and Ami 3), they do rattle and vibrate a bit when walking, jogging, jumping, or riding in a car. While pleasure is not the intended purpose of this set, it is an added and appreciable bonus to the workout. Some women may even find that wearing these exercisers will warm them up for sex or play later in the day.

The 3 piece set also allows users to switch sizes when they are comfortable doing so to tighten the pelvic floor muscles even further. This is a feature that other vaginal exercisers that come in just one size and shape simply can't offer or compare to.

The Ami exercisers are very simple to care for. As they are silicone, they should only be used with water-based lubes. They can be cleaned in a 10% bleach solution, but cannot be boiled or put in the dishwasher due to the round of hard plastic at the base of each piece. If you prefer not to bleach your toys, they can also be easily cleaned with toy cleaner or soap and water.

These products can be stored among any other clean silicone or non-porous toys, and can also be kept in their sturdy original packaging.

The Ami set comes in thick, elegant, save-worth Je Joue packaging. The sturdy black box is 5-1/2" x 5" x 2", is imprinted with the Je Joue logo, and ties closed with a black satin ribbon. The inside of the box contains a molded piece of plastic fitting each exerciser nicely, in addition to a strip of card-stock across the top of the plastic labeling the exercisers as "Ami 1", "Ami 2", and "Ami 3". The packaging is ideal for storage and more than adequate for gift-giving.

I personally found this set to be more comfortable than any other kegel exerciser I've tried. The shape and bit of give in the center of each simply makes them fit me better. The Ami 1 was too large for me to wear comfortably so I started with the Ami 2, and have also tried out the Ami 1 which definitely proves a harder workout down there than the Ami 2.
