Well-Designed for Someone with a Shallow G-Spot

If you have a shallower g-spot this toy would be fantastic for you, but if not, you might want to give the Gigi a miss. While the vibration setting are fantastic, this toy just wasn't long enough for me. Apart from that, it's a really nicely designed toy. So if you have the money (and anatomy), this would probably be a great choice for you.

Use

The Gigi is designed as a g-spot stimulator, but it works for external stimulation as well. It's not the best choice for clitoral stimulation, if you prefer pinpointed vibration. The head is pretty flat. Because it has no flared base, it isn't safe for anal play, so don't try it! The soft, but non-grippy texture, plus the flat tip, makes it really good for using it on the rest of your body too! I find it particularly good to use on nipples. It is a very quiet toy. I've used it with my door open, by accident, and none of my roommates heard anything. While I don't think you'd want to use it with someone else in the room, it's a great choice if you live with people.

The girth is on the smaller side and the shape is non-threatening, so I think this could be a good choice for beginners, provided they want to shell out the cash and are able to deal with a hard toy.

Material / Texture

The coloured, insertable section of the Gigi is silicone, so make sure to stick with a water-based lubricant. The handle and controls are plastic. The entire toy is very hard, even the silicone section doesn't have any give to it. The silicone section has a really nice velvety texture, that's soft without being "grabby", the way silicone can be sometimes. The texture shouldn't be challenging for anyone, but some beginners might find the unforgiving hardness of the toy a challenge.

There was no smell at all coming out of the packaging, and it hasn't picked up any smells in the month I've had it.

Design / Shape / Size

The Gigi is a total of 6.5 inches long, but only 4.5 inches are insertable. You probably could insert more, but you won't be able to hit the buttons, and cleaning might get a little more difficult because the buttons aren't waterproof. The insertable portion is about the same width for the entire shaft, but it widens slightly at the head and base, to a maximum diameter of just over 1 inch. This is definitely not a toy to go with if you're a size queen, horizontally or vertically. Personally, I found it a bit thin, but not unbearably so.

Gigi is curved with a flattened head to target g-spots. For me, this toy just wasn't long enough to hit my g-spot. I needed at least another half inch in length. I think if it was that much longer, it would work really well. The shape of the toy seems like it would be great if my g-spot wasn't as far inside me.

The controls lock, so this would be a good one to take traveling. Just hold both the left (-) and right (+) buttons for about 5 seconds to lock/unlock it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls are a set of four connected buttons in the middle of the plastic handle section. There's an up, down, left (-) and right (+), and a light around the outside of the buttons that goes on when you push a button. You hold the (+) button to turn the toy on, and the (-) button to turn it off. The up and down buttons change the vibration pattern and the (-) and (+) buttons change the intensity. The buttons have to be pushed slightly longer than you'd expect. You have to click and hold for a fraction of a second. This is a good feature because it makes it more difficult to hit them accidentally.

There are 5 vibration patterns: steady vibration, slow pulse, medium pulse, fast pulse, and "rollercoaster"(steady waves of increasing and decreasing vibration). There are 7 intensity levels (I think...it's kind of hard to tell), from barely there to quite intense. The rollercoaster setting is my favorite. The vibration increases and decreases incredibly smoothly. It's really great! The vibrations are focused at the head of the toy, but they can be felt all the way along the insertable portion. They can be felt in the handle section, but just enough to know that the toy is on. They definitely won't make your hand go numb. The vibrations are very smooth and pretty deep, and though the higher intensities can get a bit intense, they aren't the numbing kind of vibration that can happen with smaller or cheaper toys.

One of the best things about this toy is how quiet it is, even on the highest settings. I can hardly hear it at all when it's under the blankets. Another awesome thing is that it's rechargeable! I love rechargeable toys. It's one of my favorite features. The light around the control buttons will glow red when it needs charging, flashes white while it's charging, and glows a steady white when the charge is full.

The only strong downside of this toy is that it isn't waterproof.

Care and Maintenance

Because Gigi isn't waterproof, it can be a bit tricky to clean. You need to be really careful not to get water around the buttons in particular. The texture isn't difficult to clean at all, because it's so smooth. I think toy wipes would be a really good choice to use with this toy, because using water and soap to clean it is a bit stressful.

The insertable section of Gigi is silicone, so make sure you stick with a water-based lube. If you really, really want to use a different lube, make sure to at least do a patch test first.

Packaging

As anyone who's ordered a LELO toy knows, their packaging is absolutely gorgeous. There is an outer cardboard box that's the colour you chose (mine was turquoise), with "LELO" on the top, some brief information on the side ("body-safe materials, deceptively powerful," etc), and a picture of the toy on the bottom. It almost looks like a Tiffany's box - it's super classy! If you're giving it as a gift, you might want to take this outer layer off (it would give away what's inside!), because the next layer of packaging is just as gorgeous. It's a sturdy black cardboard box with "LELO" on the top. It looks expensive, like it could have jewelery or some fancy electronic thing inside.

Inside the box, there's a black plastic form that the Gigi sits in, with a piece of shaped, transparent plastic on top. Again, this looks super classy, and this would be an awesome way to store it if you have the space. If not, under the plastic section there's a white satin drawstring bag. There's also a user manual with a guide to the toy, including descriptions of the vibrations, how to recharge, how to care for the Gigi, etc, in multiple languages. There's a "10 year quality guarantee" booklet that shows other LELO toys, and a "1 year warranty" booklet. I'm not really sure what's up with that.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

Personally, the Gigi isn't my favourite toy. I'm so disappointed because I was super excited about getting it! The length just isn't long enough to hit my g-spot, and the diameter isn't large enough to make it work well for me as a non-G-Spot insertable toy.

I use it as a clitoral toy sometimes, but the flat head isn't great for targeted stimulation, so I often end up just leaving it in the drawer. It is really well designed though, and I think if it worked with my anatomy better, it would become a favourite. Oh well...
Follow-up commentary
This still isn't the best toy for me, but I've figured out a way to make it work. Sort of. If I push it in up to about where the buttons are, I can actually hit my G-spot! And it feels awesome! I worry about doing this though, because I know the buttons aren't waterproof. I could use a condom to help with that, but who wants to use condoms on their toys when they're masturbating? For the most part I'm sticking with my original review: if this works for you it will be a fantastic toy, but it just wasn't long enough for me.

actually though i'm working on my review right now- yes for internal stimulation it was a bit uncomfortable unless i rocked it against my pubic bone. I can only take like 4 max 5 inches inserted and though i was initially drooling over the shape on the tip it felt the same as when you're having sex and your cervix gets bruised- except it wasn't against my cervix. its quite hard and has little give to it though the silicone is quite nice. I used it more on my clit and she seemed to enjoy the vibrations(shrug)

    • I think it's more of a solo toy. You should look at the We vibes.

I think it works pretty well for this purpose. I use it simultaneously with a dildo all the time. Is it the best for this purpose? I would say you'd be better off using a smaller vibrator such as the Lelo Siri which is another personal favorite of mine during piv sex. Although it is pretty easy to use the Gigi. Works in all positions where your body isn't completely pressed against a surface or your partner's body. You'll need to give a little space in between you and your partner to fit the toy but it still works really well.

  • Lelo Gigi - Using a Condom or Not
    • I have recently bought the Gigi vibrator from LELO.

For my first use, I used a condom to cover the Gigi (the brand I used is Lifestyles Studded). After removing the condom, I noticed that the lubricant, from the inside the condom, left a kind of oily residue on the Gigi. I tried to use my toy cleaner to remove it, but I am slightly worried

I am worried that the lubricant from this condom is not water-based. Now, I have a few questions that I was unable to research answers to.

      1) Was the condom I used water-based?
      2) Have I ruined my new Gigi?
      3) Is it best to use a condom on the Gigi or not?

Any advice/help will be much appreciated.

      - Dr. Manhattan
    • From what I can find via Google, it looks like the lubricant in that condom isn't a silicone lubricant so it should be okay.

Lubricant Ingredients: Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Phenonip, Carbomer

I don't think you're ruined anything. If you're concerned you might want to try to find a different type of condom that leaves less residue. I have no suggestions because almost all condoms irritate me and since I'm fluid bonded with my partner we don't use them.

What would you recommend to clean the Gigi? I currently have a toy cleaner called "Swiss Navy."

Will using soap and water be bad for the Gigi? At least just for the silicone part of the vibrator?

  • is jt worth it
    • Is the product worth the price ????
    • I'm pretty sure we answered a similar set of questions about the pros and cons of expensive vibrators.
    • Quote: Is the product worth the price ????
Absolutely!! I bought mine a couple years ago after (literally) melting my previous one. Between the cost of having to replace my vibrators and the batteries constantly, I went for it and have no regrets!! Gigi is a regular part of our sex life! However, I use it only for cliteral stimulation (which works for me) so I can't speak if you are interested in G-spot usage.
The one drawback is I've found that I tend to hit the speed controls during use. Otherwise, the warranty is great (though i've never had one problem with it), it's easy to keep clean and store, and I LOVE that it's rechargable.
      Enjoy!

I highly recommend the Gigi for G-spot play. It's firm enough to stimulate it with the amount of pressure needed, but velvety enough to not be too much. Additionally the vibration settings I found to be ideal for pressing against my G-spot. Just have a towel ready!

I would recommend the Gigi for g-spot play. I will point out though that if you have a g-spot that is on the further side in terms of depth in the vagina, or if like me your vaginal canal has a sharp curve to it then you should look for a toy that is longer than the Gigi. I love the Gigi as a clitoral vibrator but based on my anatomy it didn't do much for me as a g-spot stimulator. Take your anatomy into consideration before you buy a toy for g-spot play. If you are like me and think you'll need a more lengthy toy try the G-Spot Pink glass stimulator. I'm currently working on a review for that toy and it is a personal favorite of mine.

  • Charging Gigi in the UK
    • FiredrakeNemmy
So uh, my gf lives across the pond in England and I wanted to get a little something to bring her next I go visit.

She really likes the use of the Gigi vibrator but I'm worried about the charging of the toy, I learned to be wary of such things when I blew out the power to my Wii :X

But anyways, if anyone who has one could kindly take a look at the allowed voltages I would really appreciate it. The voltage info can usually be found on the charger itself ( a bunch of random numbers and such and has that UL logo ) Does it list the Input as 100V-240V or just something around 100V?

      Thanks!

They're good for 100-240V. I charged mine while living abroad just fine.
    • The charger I have with mine has the 100V-240V range.

You might also look at getting a charger specifically for using the Gigi in England.

    • My 22nd birthday is coming up which means birthday monies <3 I'm trying to see if I can orgasm with my gspot but haven't had any luck. I've been close but no beans yet. I'm debating getting this to see if it'll work for me, plus I'm trying to go off birth control, it's made my sex drive completely dissappear after 2 years of being on it, not to mention making me depressed, moody, etc.

Anyway, would this be recommended? Where's the vibration, though? More in the shaft towards the buttons or more at the tip? And is it plenty strong? (I need strong vibrations.)

I'll have to order at a time my dad won't be home, though, and make sure it arrives when he's at work--how embarassing it'd be for me for him to find out I have toys!

  • is the gigi a good starter g-spot vibe?
    • My friend Lee's birthday is coming up and ever since I told her about female ejaculation and what it is and that I can do it, she's been trying to find everything about it and is really interested in a g-spot vibrator, but she doesn't really like the way most vibrators feel with vibrations. To her, they feel like an "Oh, there's something vibrating in my ladyparts but it's doing nothing for me." So, my question is, is the Gigi different in that sense that the vibrations have some "variety" to them and they're not so monotonous? I'd love to get her the Gigi for her birthday and have heard nothing but great things about it.

My Gigi is on its way, so I'm not much help there... Although, whenever I read about female ejaculation the Ella is usually involved.

It doesn't vibrate, but you may want to check it out.

Miss KissThis totally beat me to the punch! If it has to vibrate and you want to be able to use it for clitoral stimulation, Gigi is great. But if you're on a lower budget and only want g-spot stimulation, the Ella is one of this forum's favorite dildos.

  • Best G-spot vibrator. Which one to pick?
    • Rachell25
LELO has presented a couple of very well designed G-spot vibrators, like Gigi, Liv and Elise, lately. Just looking at them makes me feel horny. They all have great features and different vibration modes and they are also rechargeable, so I can safe my money on batteries.
Gigi seems to be the toy of my dreams due to its well pronounced curved tip. I guess that will lead to a better contact with my G-spot.
Any ideas, suggestions, tips? Anything will do.

PS: Will Gigi make me squirt???
    • Rainbow
Wow... that looks really splendid, in fact, all of them do.
It looks like it's going to be my G-spot's best friend for ages.

That must be a bargain but it is kind of expensive for me at the moment but as soon as I can afford one I will surely have one in my toy box.
    • Siren
My dear, not every woman is able to "squirt", it depends on every woman's physiology but it is definitely going to send you to Seven's Heaven of Pleasure.
I own one, the Liv, and it's just terrible, in the good meaning of the word.
I can assure you, you made a perfect choice if you're looking for G-spot stimulation.
