What a dud!

Just skip this vibrator. EF offers a variety of traditional vibrators so I'm sure that some must be better than this one. I love the style and the size. That's it though. It doesn't work all of the time, which is incredibly frustrating when you're horny. Plus I find the vibrations that it gives off to be both too strong yet somehow non arousing.

Pros
Cute design. Nice, average size.
Cons
Doesn't always turn on. Vibrations are ineffective in getting me off.

Use

This traditional style vibrator looks like it would be useful for clitoral or g-spot stimulation, though that wasn't my experience.

Material / Texture

This vibe is made of plastic. The surface features a metallic swirl design. I can't feel any texture from this design. I didn't notice any specific smell.

Design / Shape / Size

I think that this is a pretty vibrator, which is a completely odd thought, but it is. I was looking to replace a defunct traditional vibe so I chose this out of the available stock on EF because of the look. The metallic colors and swirl design are what drew me in.

This vibrator measures about 8" long from the base to the tip (6.5" of which are insert-able) and 4.5" around. Of course you can just go as deep with it as you feel comfortable. Plus it can be used for clitoral stimulation instead or as well. This is why I don't find it intimidating for beginners.

I definitely would not travel with this thing. It's incredibly obvious what it is.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Though this vibrator is quite simple looking it's not so easy to use. If you don't screw the cap on perfectly it will not work. I gifted one of these to a friend around the same time that I ordered mine. She couldn't get hers to turn on. My guess is that it wasn't lined up all of the way.

Vibrations occur all throughout this toy.

You can turn the base to achieve a few different levels of vibrations but it doesn't click into any specific spot so I seem to just turn it all the way up when I try to use it.

When turned up to the highest level I would say that it's medium noisy. Someone could hear it provided that you don't have any background noise going at the same time. I own small vibes that take AA or AAA batteries that are louder though.

Care and Maintenance

According to EF, a plastic vibrator such as this can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water or with rubbing alcohol. I've simply used a wipe to clean mine.

I've stored mine in my small toy chest. It's not too long so I think that it's a pretty easy item to store.

This massager can be used with water, oil or silicone based lubricants.

If you want to insert this to use it for g-spot insertion then you may also want to add a bullet to your clitoris to achieve both types of orgasms.

Packaging

The Metallic Massager from California Exotic Novelties comes in a simple plastic card style packaging. The insert shows an attractive blonde trying to appear sensuous. The front also mentions that it's waterproof but I wouldn't use this type of vibe like that is water could get into the battery compartment. There are simple instructions printed in small text on the back of the insert. A very small piece of paper is included to show you how to insert the batteries and twist it shut.

The packaging isn't particularly fun or eye catching so it's not ideal for gift giving but it's still affective for that (I've done so). I'm disposing of the packaging after writing this review. It's not ideal for storage.

Experience

I abhor this thing. Plus I'm embarrassed that I gave one away as a gift as well. I spend a good deal of time on EF and should know to check reviews but I didn't do so with this. I thought, it looks good, it's cheap and it takes two C batteries. That sounded great to me.

If I don't line the cap up in the most specific way possible it doesn't even always come on. When it does work I'm less than thrilled. It's hard to explain what is so bad about the vibrations emanating from this thing. They are buzzy but in a numbing way. For instance, if I simply held it in my hand (and nowhere else) for a few minutes my hand feels incredibly odd. I don't find this erotic at all. I've tried using it both internally and externally. I was disappointed both ways.

Mine is now headed for the trash.
Follow-up commentary
As I stated I would do, I threw this away after writing the review. I also bought my friend a much better vibe since I felt bad about having gifted her this one (before I'd tried it).
