What a tease!

If you are not picky about the powerfulness of your vibes, then this may be a good choice for you. It is cute and very discreet, and has a nice range of multi-speed settings. However, the batteries and the toy itself are so small they are difficult to handle, and the batteries have to be removed after each use which just adds to the frustration. It’s overall acceptable, as far as pocket rockets go, but definitely not a replacement for a full-size vibe.

Like some other items I have recently ordered from EF, I was very excited to receive the Chestnut pocket rocket vibe. I had high hopes that great things would come in its cute little package, but have been somewhat disappointed.

Let me start by saying I was in the market for a super-powerful vibe that was both compact and NOT a dildo - that is to say, a toy that was strictly a vibe and would excel at just that purpose. While it's true that the Chestnut is a compact vibe, it is just not as powerful as I would have hoped.

The pros of this toy: it is small, cute, and discreet. It doesn't look like a vibe and I feel comfortable enough to leave it lying around in the open. At about 3 inches in length, it is truly a pocket rocket and could be slipped into just about any kind of bag, camera or cell phone case, a pocket, or just about anywhere else. It is available in several colors to suit your tastes. And it has an interesting multi-speed ability which allows you to choose between low and high speeds and five additional variations of pulsations. It is truly waterproof as long as the cap is on tight and I have not had any problem with it shorting out. It is also easy to operate with just a single button that controls both the on/off and all the speed settings (just push the button repeatedly to cycle through the settings). It comes with two sets of 3 watch batteries included in the price.

The cons: The paint is cheap and is already starting to scratch/flake off after just a few uses. I order the silver one and it is shinier than how it looks in the picture, which makes scratches in the paint more noticeable. The batteries will wear down quickly if you don't remove them after each use, which is a real hassle. The other problem with the batteries is that they are so tiny, and the battery compartment is so tiny, that you need nimble fingers to get the batteries in place (and them remove them again after each use). This was a real pain. Also, because of its very small size, you will need good hand control to use the Chestnut.

However, I could live with these things. My real personal dissatisfaction with this vibe is that it's just not powerful enough. Now I realize a pocket vibe is not going to be as strong as a full-sized one, but from reading other reviews before purchasing I expected it to really perform. Sadly, it just didn't do it for me - the vibrations, even on the highest setting, were not enough to bring me to the edge, let alone give me the big O. Every time I used it, I had to switch to another vibe to finish the job, which was definitely frustrating. I couldn't enjoy any of the pulsating settings either, since their vibe power seemed even less potent. Part of the problem may have to do with the fact that the tip of the Chestnut is about the size of a dime. Turning it around to use the bulbed end (where the button control is) didn't work either since the vibes are concentrated at the opposite end. I think making it just a little wider all around would have made a real difference in how well I could feel the vibrations.
Experience
I tried and tried for the big O with this little vibe but just couldn't get there. Its vibrations were just not quite powerful enough, or the vibrating tip wasn't wide enough, for it to do the job. Ultimately I had to switch to a full size vibe to push me over the edge.
