What's Not to Love? It's Pink!
Condom safe, body safe, long lasting and beautifully packaged; Pink is a wonderful addition to any toybox. It is great as a lube and a massage oil. It lasts forever and is well worth the price.Published: March 31, 2010
Pros:
Long lasting, beautiful glass bottle.
Cons:
Not pleasant tasting.
I wanted to try some silicone lube after reading all about how it's better in some aspects than water based lubricants. After reading all the reviews I decided to give Pink by Empowered Products a try. I have to say that was the best decision I've made so far!
Pink is L-Arginine free, petro-chemical free, paraben free, glycerine free, hypo-allergenic and condom safe. It's designed to be gentle and safe for a woman but is equally loved by men! It comes in a 4 fl. oz. glass bottle with a pump type top. Not the easiest thing to hold on to when hands are slick but every easy to wipe off afterwards and looks beautiful sitting on a dresser or bedside table. The bottle has the word Pink written on it in pink and the words: Silicone Lubricant for Women. It also states that it is hypoallergenic. Very discreet and pretty.
The pump top is sturdy but takes quite a lot of pressure to work. This is both good and bad. It can be good in that it won't get bumped and leak lube everywhere but during play if you feel you need a bit more it can be difficult to handle the glass bottle with lube slick hands.
Pink allowed our first baby steps into anal play to go smoothly and pleasurably though we have since gotten a thicker type water based lube since most of our anal toys are silicone. Still for non silicone toys pink works very nicely and doesn't dry out or become sticky. Pink goes on and on!
I love the fact that the ingredients list for this product is very short: Dimethicone, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Dimethiconol, and Cyclomethicone. That's all! Just skin soothers and silicone nothing else!
Now we were all happy with the fact that this is a wonderful lubricant but after reading the ingredients we decided to try it as a massage oil. It works GREAT! Just a tiny amount provides hours of lubricity, I have yet to be able to get this to dry out or sink totally into the skin. It doesn't make the sheets oily or sticky either. On scars it shows the best advantage, it makes keloid scars noticeably softer and less red as well as eases the pulling sensations. It keeps the scar from tearing and cracking during a massage. After clearing it with his doctor (one hears horror stories of silicone getting into the tissues of the body but it makes sense that the softer mucosal tissues of the vagina and anus would absorb more than the skin on your back or on scar tissue) we tried using Pink on Sigel's scars from shoulder surgery and after a week he noticed real changes. The advantage is with Pink you don't need to use but one pump to completely cover the area.
Pink doesn't have a pleasant taste but since there are a plethora of flavored lubes out there this isn't a real detraction for us.

Follow-up commentary

Even though my love of everything silicone makes it difficult to use this for toy play we have come to appreciate it for times when we need a little bit of extra lubrication during sex. It is perfect for glass, wood, metal, and plastic toys. Such a tiny amount lasts FOREVER! The glass is so pretty that friends have bought this product just because it is so classy looking. It looks at home on a tray with perfume bottles or beside the bed. I'm hoping that Pink will introduce a refill for it at some later date...

Whats the safest lubes to use? Water-based, silicone?
-
Try a simple plain water based one if you are unsure of how you would react.

What toys are not safe with silicone lubes?

Venus FableI heard that certain lubes can't be used with certain toys. Can someone tell me how this works? -
Quote: I heard that certain lubes can't be used with certain toys. Can someone tell me how this works?Hi Venus - basically, silicone lube and silicone toys are not compatible because they react with one another (silicone may also leave stains on bedsheets and upholstery), but water-based lubricant is fine with any material and usually won't stain anything.
Why would anyone use silicone-based then, you might ask. Silicone-based tends to last longer and not dissolve in water (great for a jacuzzi quickie), whereas water-based is easily washed away or absorbed, which means it won't be as effective as silicone-based over long sessions. Silicone-based also has a nice silky feel, which some people prefer.
Hope this helps! -
Other considerations: Silicone lube should not be used with cyberskin or jelly toys, either, as it will melt them. When using lube with condoms or anything containing latex, avoid lube with any kind of oil.
Basically, it's a good idea to stick to water-based lube for use with any kind of toys!

Thank you for viewing Pink – silicone based lube review page!

You could do a whole lot worse than Pink and not a whole lot better! I still use Pink as my go to silicone lube.
I think I may have to try this one out!
