Dr. Laura Berman Vesta - traditional vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Wondermom

The Dr.Berman Vesta is a great little vibrator for beginners and people who like smaller girth. It can be used for clitoral stimulation, vaginal insertion, G-spot stimulation and all over body massage. This vibrator does not have a large base so I do not recommend anal use. Average vibrations and noise level, but there is no dedicated on/off switch which makes quick turn off impossible, so if you need that, this is not the toy for you. It is waterproof so you can use this vibrator in the shower and the bath.

The Vesta is made of a very soft velvety TPR with ABS plastic and a silicone control button. There is no smell that I noticed, the TPR is extremely soft with an inner hard plastic core to give stability. The TPR tip extendeds half an inch past the inner vibrator giving you a very soft squishy tip which can be a downside if you want pinpoint stimulation. The description of this product says swirled texture but I did not feel it in use, there is also a seam running down both sides but I did not feel it in use either. Suitable for use with silicone and water based lubes. It does attract a little lint, but not as bad as some other toys.

The swirled design of the Vesta is ascetically pleasing but I did not feel any difference in use. The Vesta has an overall length of 6.15 inches with an insert-able length of 5.15 inches, 3.5 inch circumference at the widest point and 3 inches at the tip. The size increases slightly as you insert more but it is not large at all which makes this suitable for beginners and people who prefer smaller girth. There is no curve for g-spot stimulation but if you angle this toy just the right way in use you can get ridged pressure on the g-spot. The Vesta is small and easy to hide, you could easily put this in your suitcase with no problem.

The Vesta has 5 vibration patterns all controlled through one button on the bottom of the toy, you have to cycle through 3 patterns before you get to a steady vibration of which there is only one, and through all patterns to turn it off which is a big downside for me. The vibrations are very throbby and do extend through the whole toy and are still strong in the tip but it does make a distinct noise so this is not something you want to use without some background noise.

Pattern 1 : 5 long pulses, around 15 medium pulses and around 15 fast short pulses
Pattern 2 : 5 long pulses, pause, long steady vibration then short fast slightly stronger pulses
Pattern 3 : Short fast pulses
Pattern 4 : Steady one speed vibration
Pattern 5 : Long steady vibration broken up with short pulses

This is a waterproof toy, I did test this in the shower and in a sink full of water, it did hold up to its claims. I opened the battery compartment after submerging it and there was no water inside at all, just make sure you have the cap on tight before putting it in water.

The cap is a screw on cap, it has a coating that does make it slick when lubed up and a little hard to hold, but when dry it is a very easy cap to get on and off, no special notches to match up and it is a simple silicone push button to control the patterns.

TPR is a porous material so you will need to use a condom if you share or do anal play, although I do not recommend anal use with this vibrator. You can wash this vibrator with warm water and a mild soap, toy cleaner, or with a toy wipe. It cannot be disinfected by boiling and I would stay clear of bleach since this is porous.

Make sure you keep this toy separated from other toys and any sources of dye or ink because it will stain. Because it does attract some lint I would store it in a lint free toy bag, no need for padding but a lint free fabric like satin would do as would a ziploc. Make sure the dyes do not run from your storage bags because it will stain the toy so I recommend a bag that is white or cream.

The packaging was your basic plastic box with a molded plastic insert that had the Vesta nestled in it, the insert is very nice for storage but the box does not hold up. So I just have my insert inside a ziploc bag to keep it separated from other toys and any possible ink.

The outside of the box is clear so its not exactly discreet but it also does not have any naked women on it. The box contains a lot of information on it about the toy, Dr. Laura Berman and the care instructions, which I love because a lot of the time packaging lacks this. Inside is also an instruction sheet in 6 languages but unfortunately the instructions for the battery compartments do not match this toy at all.

Overall while I didn't love this toy, I did find uses for it that work for me. It is not my go to finisher, but it does provide nice stimulation when I am not looking for clit busting power. I did not feel anything special from the design but the material was very nice and smooth, which made just a tiny bit of lube go a long way.
