Worth the effort...
Though it did not initially impress me, the SaSi creates unique enough sensations that it kept me coming back. Once I finally learned how to use it properly, it gave me the most intense orgasm of my life!Published: November 17, 2008
Pros:
Truly unique, attractive, can be very effective
Cons:
Maybe too unique for some, complicated, expensive
The SaSi by Je Joue is, by far, the most complex toy I own, and this is probably the most difficult review I have ever written. This toy is definitely not for everyone. I am going to give it a good review, and no doubt, I will receive comments that it ‘did nothing’ for many women. I, myself, have had a “hate it-kind of like it-like it-OH MY GOD I LOVE IT” relationship with this toy. As a general guideline, I would say this is NOT a toy for beginners, but something for the woman who has many toys and has the patience to appreciate something truly unique. The SaSi is a large investment to make on a toy that may or may not work for you; but in this reviewer’s experience, taking the time to get to know my SaSi yielded rewards beyond my greatest expectations.
The SaSi is, in essence, a hand-held external massager that vibrates and has a ball-like protrusion that moves in various patterns to simulate a finger-like sensation. Even trying to describe it in simple terms is difficult, because operating and using the SaSi is complicated—VERY complicated. It is controlled by five buttons on the top of the toy, whose operations are described in a 22-page instruction manual. I am not going to attempt to consolidate or paraphrase those instructions here; just be prepared to spend some time and effort learning how to operate your SaSi. The buttons control various functions, from making the toy vibrate to moving the little ball in various patterns to programming the toy to “learn” which patterns you like most and repeat them.
The vibrations of the SaSi are fairly mild, even at their highest settings, and are more of an enhancement to the ball’s movements than the main feature of the toy. The ball itself is capable of a wide range of motion, though it does not make complete circles. It does, however, move in a variety of U’s, J’s, and arcs at different levels of height—eleven patterns in all. Learning which combinations of vibrations and movements you like, and where exactly to place the SaSi on your body takes some time and patience; the placement, in particular, made a HUGE difference for me in the intensity of sensation. The SaSi can be used to stimulate and massage your entire labial region, but for me the secret to getting it to perform well was placing it and setting the motions so the ball focused directly on and around my clit. This took some time to figure out and get just right, but once I did it made my experience with this toy truly phenomenal.
Even the packaging of the SaSi is complicated! It comes in a 3-tier box, which serves to store the charger and adapters (for the U.S., Canada and China; Australia and New Zealand; the U.K; and the E.U.), storage bag (which mine was missing), and instruction booklet. The next tier stores the SaSi itself, on a nice little display stand. The final tier is the lid that closes the box. The box is sturdy and attractive and definitely worth displaying with your SaSi!
I have the SaSi in the lovely, deep eggplant purple color, and it is truly a beautiful and sophisticated-looking toy. The cover on it is 100% silicone, so only use water-based lubes with it, please. The SaSi is splash-proof, but not waterproof, so do not submerge it or take it in the shower with you. Both the silicone cover and top plate are apparently removable, but I have not had the need to remove them. The charger port is covered with a flap that can be tricky to open at first, but helps it retain its splash-proof quality. Yes, the SaSi is rechargeable, and charges fully in a mere 45 minutes and lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The SaSi should be fully charged and used at least every 3 months to maintain the battery. Also, as an added feature, the SaSi can be locked for travel by pressing a certain combination of buttons. Finally, the SaSi is whisper quiet in its operation, though you may not be once you find “your” combination!

Experience
The first time I tried the SaSi, I was not the slightest bit impressed. It did get me off slightly, but it was mostly due to the slight vibrations and was the kind of orgasm that only leaves you wanting more. So I tried it again. It worked a little better the second time, but still did not win me over. The next time I used it, I really sat down and took the time to read the instructions thoroughly and scrolled through the patterns to see what they did. Ok, try three—this time I was able to “train” the ball to focus more on my clit, and I had a pretty intense orgasm as a result. It was not until the fourth time, however, that I truly saw fireworks. With what the SaSi had learned about me and what I had learned about the SaSi, we were able to work together to give me, without exaggeration, the single best orgasm I have ever had in my life, the kind that leaves you exhausted, trembling, and completely drenches everything in the near vicinity. I could not even walk once my SaSi was finished with me. It took some time, effort, and patience in getting there, but in my experience, it was so well worth it.

did anyone else's sasi heat up
-
my sasi is overheating with use. it seems normal since it's a toy that's doing a lot of work... but is it normal?

The booklet says not to use it under blankets. I usually stop using mine after 15 to 20 minutes or so because I don't want to damage the motor.

I just learned (and wanted to share in case anybody in the future reads this thread) from ToyGeek's review that SaSi will actually shut itself off if it gets too hot.
I don't know if it shuts itself off at a certain temperature as an 'autoprotect' feature, or if it just passes the temp at which it doesn't work anymore, but I suspect the former. So maybe I don't have to worry so much about protecting the motor, because it will do it on its own.

To me, it doesn't simulate oral sex at all. If you want that, you're better off with the Sqweel.
SaSi is an ok toy but way over-priced and if you require a reasonable amount of clit stimulation, this may not be the best.

The SaSi

Who else really wants this toy? It sounds amazing does it not? Also oddly enough it is showing up as a 4 on the material safety scale, it should be a 10. Anyways, what do you think? Anyone already own this? The design sounds fantastic to me. This is going in my wish list asap!

I had not even looked at that toy before. I'll admit, it looks pretty amazing and very unique. You bring up an interesting point about the material safety scale rating it so low. Must be a mistake.

I have it. It's ... interesting. The jury's still out on whether or not it's worth the hefty price tag.

Thank you for viewing SaSi – vibrator review page!

Thanks for talking about the "learning curve" involved with this toy. I've wanted it since I first heard about it, and your honest review has me reaching for my wallet!
Thanks! I hope you come to love yours as much as I love mine! :)
This is a very encouraging review - glad you didn't give up! Now I'm curious too!
It's definitely a 'curiosity.' But if you like new things and are longing for something different, it might just do the trick!
Very interesting. Damn, you're making me want it, and I'd decided I didn't want it! My question is, how did it give you such a powerful orgasm, if the vibrations aren't terribly strong?
Epiphora, the most honest answer I can give to your question is that I truly don't know. Anyone who reads my reviews knows I'm a power queen when it comes to vibrations, but this was...different. Since the nerves of the clitoris extend well beyond the bud itself, it was like when I found the right pattern, it was just this INTENSE clitoral massage. I also wonder if I didn't find some external spot where I can trigger my g-spot, because I squirted like a fire hose--a first for me! (yay!) The pressure caused by the little ball was just amazing feeling when I finally found the right spot. I'm sorry I can't answer more helpfully; I just know that when I figured out how to use it, it worked DAMN well! I guess it's kind of like getting fingered by someone who really knows what he/she is doing.
No, that is a great answer, as always! Thanks, Dame Demi!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting! Always a pleasure to have your input, Epiphora!
1. I wish this thing would come with some sort of warranty. It's an investment!
2. Great review. I've wanted this for awhile, but can't justify spending that sort of money on a toy that's strictly for my pleasure. :( Maybe, maybe one day.
I'm sorry--I forgot to mention the SaSi DOES come with a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
And getting toys for your pleasure is the whole point!!! ;)
Thanks for the comments!
8 months later, how is it holding up for you?
Great review!
Thanks!
Thank you for another amazing review.
