You always remember your first, especially when it's great.
This is a great vibrator for clitoral stimulation and I highly recommend it, especially for beginners. It is simple and easy to use and won't intimidate you or your partner. The Velvet is waterproof and is a very nice addition to any relaxing shower. The only problem is that it is slender and so it may not be able to get you off vaginally on it's own. On the other hand the smaller girth makes it good for beginners.Published: December 26, 2008
Pros:
Simple, effective, inexpensive, and waterproof.
Cons:
A bit on the small side, may not be enough vaginal stimulation.
The Velvet touch vibrator is the first toy I ever purchased. I was looking for something simple that wasn't intimidating and was inexpensive, but something that could still get the job done. For that this toy is perfect, and the fact that it is waterproof is a major plus.
As a clitoral stimulator this toy works excellently, better than most of the others I have tried. The Velvet is a traditional vibrator with a 1 inch diameter shaft that tapers to a small rounded tip. The concentrated vibrations at the tip feel great on the clitoris, and the large range of speeds are great- from light and arousing, to powerful and orgasm inducing. It always gets me off and I can cum multiple times while using this toy. I should also mention that it is great for use with a partner too. The simple design isn't intimidating and my partner loves to turn it on low and run it over my body before he heads south, and it feels great.
The concentrated vibrations are great for clitoral stimulation but penetration with this toy isn't anything special. The soft smooth velvet texture feels great externally but there isn't enough to be noticeable internally. It feels good, but I need something more in order to finish. That said, the Velvet can be effective for g spot stimulation if you angle it.
Some people have mentioned having problems with it in water but I haven't experienced any issues. I've been very pleased with the Velvet touch vibrator in the shower and in a stream, though I have not yet tried the bathtub. I had to replace my original toy when the screw on battery cap cracked, but as long as you don't drop yours on a rock like I did you should be ok. Before I cracked it the center core did separate and would come out when I removed the batteries, but I didn't find this to be a problem. The vibrator continued working with the same power and this actually made it easier to get the AA batteries out.
The description says it can be used anally, and while the lack of a flared base means it isn't safe for this I have tried it. If you are definitely interested in anal buy a toy specifically for that purpose, but I wanted to try it out first. It is easy to insert with a little lube, just be careful to only go in a few inches. All I wanted was to know if that type of stimulation would appeal to me, and that should be enough to give you an idea. This toy is easy to clean but it can't be completely sterilized so be mindful of that.

I have had this toy for a long time and I still love it. I've added many more toys to my collection but this is definitely a favorite and I continue to use it frequently.

Getting rid of stains on my Velvet Touch vibe?
-
LinLinHi, I accidentally used my Velvet touch vibrator during my period (like I started going and I didn't notice that I was already spotting). Since then it has some mild yellowing (I got it in lavander) and I don't know how to get rid of the stains! It does not seem to have an odor or anything, but does anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of the stains? I love this toy and its my first and only one I own, but I'm so annoyed with the staining!
Any help would be appreciated! -
You could try cleaning it with a bleach solution, but honestly it might just be stained. I'd say that if it doesn't smell and you've cleaned it real well, that might just be it. It won't affect the usability at all though, which is good. :)

Yep, I was going to suggest the same. Best wishes!

Velvet touch vibrator – traditional vibrator

cherrypopedI've heard this one is no good. it stops working fast. Should i buy it? -
Quote: I've heard this one is no good. it stops working fast. Should i buy it?Cherry, In what ways does it stop working fast? Do you mean that the battery dies quickly? Or that the machine itself is faulty? I've had this toy for over four years, only had to change the battery once, and it has remained clean, odorless, retained its color, vibrations are as strong as when I first purchased/used it, and it never malfunctioned on it. Although it's a very inexpensive toy, it has outlasted all others in pleasure and in worth! Go for it!

I had mine for at least a year before it stopped working. When it stopped working, there was rust under the twisting part of the cap, so I likely caused it to stop working by not being careful when washing it. This was a FABULOUS toy when I had it, and I would buy another if I needed another basic vibe. For $13, you can't really go wrong. Don't abuse it (drop it, get the cap or insides wet) and it should last quite a while.

Thank you for viewing Velvet touch vibrator – traditional vibrator review page!

Hurray for the velvet touch vibe, I love this thing! Nice review
Seems like a nice starter vibe, or even a vibe small enough to be used during intercourse. I want to hear more about that day at the stream!!!
Good review, thanks!
Thanks for the detailed review!
great review. im sure it will keep me up all night
Great review. This was my first vibe (I have it in blue) and I still love it. Find myself going back to it even though I've since graduated to bigger and perhaps better vibes.
I have also been thinking about using buying this for anal play.
How did it feel?
It felt nice but because it doesn't have a flared based you would have to be careful. The vibrations feel great and can be adjusted to the intensity you like. The hard smooth design makes it easy to insert and thrust it in and out. It is also easy to clean, but not sterilize, but you may be able to find one like it that is made specifically for anal play with a similar shape.
I loved this one as well. It was my first and is still my favorite. Good review.
Great review!
Very well-written and informative review. Thanks!
Thank you for the review. After reading how it's still a favorite, I think I am convinced that I want this one!
