Zini Roae - rabbit vibrator by Zini - review by Love Buzz

Zini Roae is a new revolutionary take on the traditional dual stimulation vibrator.It is designed to provide stimulation to the G-Spot and clitoris simultaneously. Its two strong, separate motors are powered by a rechargeable battery that provides 4 hours of pleasure from 2 hours of charging.

As it is on the leading edge of technology there is a steep learning curve with this toy. It is more suited to solo play until you learn the ropes, but couples play certainly isn't excluded.

It is splash proof rather than waterproof, this is a toy best kept for the bedroom.

Made of the highest quality silicone and hard ABS plastic the ROAE is 100% body friendly. Free of Phthalates and Latex. It is hypo-allergenic and non-porous making it easy to sterilise.

It is sleek, rigid and scentless. The smooth Silicone feels soft like silk with its matte finish. The plastic portion of the U shaped handles shines in the light giving it a slightly futuristic feel visually.

It is also available in four different color combinations. Mine is purple silicone with black ABS plastic, but there is also light pink & white, black & silver as well as black & gold.

The main design elements are the long G-Spotting style shaft, the external arm for clitoral stimulation and the U shaped curve in between that also doubles as a handle for thrusting. It is on the outer side of this curved handle that the port for inserting the cord to charge the Roae can be found. The slightly raised yet smooth 3 button control pad is located on the outer side of the clitoral arm.

This toy looks and feels amazing. Its futuristic design is so promising, and every aspect of it screams luxury... at least it did until I tried to use it as it's intended to be used!

The overall length, from tip of the shaft to the outer edge of the curve (the U shaped handle) is 7.5" long. Of this full overall length the shaft itself has an insertable length of 5-6". The main shaft's girth varies between 3.5" & 4.5" at various points, but never felt overwhelming.

The clitoral arm is 2.5" long - measured from the inside of the curve, but with the exaggerated hook shape on the clitoral arm it only leaves a gap of approx half an inch - this is where the ROAE starts to FAIL.

There simply isn't enough room for this toy to meet the clitoris whilst inserted.

With its completely rigid design that doesn't adjust, hinge or give in any way, the portion for clitoral stimulation simply can't reach its target zone. I would have to stab my cervix like a doughnut on a jousting stick just to get some of the external vibrations to reach their intended destination. Even if it did flex or bend in the curved handle area, the shaft is so long that it's already poking and prodding my cervix.

If there was a flexible joint between the two arm, this could be one killer vibe, but like its colleague - the Ina by Lelo, it isn't a case of one size fits all.

So after giving up hope of this truly being a dual stimulator I held great hopes that it would function as one kick ass G-Spot vibrator - but again it just didn't fit with my body. To zone in on my G-Spot I had to angle the toy in such a way that the controls, which are on the outer side of the clitoral arm, were very difficult to reach. Which on top of the great learning curve to the various functions just left me wanting to throw a tantrum. So very frustrating!!


Despite the difficulties I have had with it I must mention that it features two amazingly strong motors. One is located towards the tip of the shaft, the other in the buldged section, directly opposite to the hook of the clitoral arm.

Although the shape and size meant that this toy seriously wasn't made for me, I have to admit as an electronic device its performance was stellar.

Its re-chargeable battery provides 4 hours of use from only 2 hours of charging and powers the two strong motors well. All of its many functions are controlled by 3 buttons (-, 0,+) on the slightly raised control pad which has a multi-coloured LED back-light. As it does have numerous functions, vibration intensities and patterns there is quite a steep learning curve involved with this toy.

Luckily there is a cheat sheet included with the ROAE to help you get to grips with its many functions as well as its multiple vibration patterns and intensities. There is also a travel lock option which you can engage to prevent it from accidentally switching on if the buttons are inadvertently pressed. Sadly though there isn't an instant off switch. The buttons and correct sequence to press them differs depending on which vibration pattern or intensity you are using it on.

It features 10 strong, varied patterns as well as just straight vibrations, of which there are 5 levels of intensity. The power of the vibrations vary from a strong bullet strength vibration, up to a high intense vibration. It isn't Hitachi strong, but it's damn strong for a G-Spot vibe. I most enjoyed the pattern made up of strong deep pulsations that rapidly switch between the two motors.

Depending on which settings you choose the vibrations range from buzzy surface vibes that send your hand numb, to deep rumbley vibes that travel deeply through your flesh. All of the vibrations travel well throughout the body of the toy right through to both of its tips.

It is quiet on the lowest of the straight vibration settings, reminding me of a vibrating mobile phone and not audible through a closed door. On stronger intensities and its many varied programs, it could be heard through through bedding and a closed door. You need to have some background noise such as the tv or stereo on to drown it out on the higher settings.

Before you can use your Zini ROAE it requires charging for 2 hours. It will perform for up to 4 hours from a single 2 hour charge. It is important not to overcharge this battery as you may damage it.

There is a small covered port on the apex of the curve, you simply open the small cover on the port to insert the cord to charge it. It is important to note that it is not waterproof, merely splash resistant so avoid submerging it when cleaning and keep it away from water during use.

Good old warm soapy water and a wash cloth or your favourite toy cleaner can be used on this one. If you wish to sterilise the toy it can be done using a diluted, 10% bleach solution. Do not boil it- electronics do tend to blow up if they get boiled!!

It is also important to remember that silicone is a water based lube ONLY material. Silicone or oil based lubes may cause damage to it.

The ROAE comes in a beautiful black box that can be used for storage, but it also comes with a sleek little black storage bag if you don't want or have room for the somewhat bulky box.

The packaging is stunning. The ROAE arrives in a sleek black box. Crafted from thick cardboard with a lightly textured matte finish that both looks and feels expensive. Instead of wrapping the beautiful box in cheap plastic, the disposable packaging simply consists of a small red paper sleeve that wraps around the middle of the box featuring 'ROAE' written in white.

Just like the toy itself, everything about its packaging screams luxury. The lid is held in place by magnets embedded in the lip and body of the box, keeping with its very minimalist design. The only adornment is the Zini brand name embossed on the lid in silver.

When you open it you will find your toy lying there in luxury, held in place within a cardboard shelf, visible through a clear plastic shell moulded to the shape of the toy.

Underneath this removable shelf you will find the toy's charger, storage bag, instruction manual and a pamphlet that explains the functions of the control pads buttons. All of the instructions are translated into 6 languages other than English.

The packaging is incredibly discreet and minimal. No one is going to know there's a sex toy inside this box, it reminds me of a jeweller box. If you have the room for it (10"x4.5"x3.5"), it is perfect for storage and it would make a very beautiful gift.

For other International customers of EF (I'm from Australia) you may need to get an adapter to go between the ROAE's power plug and the socket in your wall - I got mine for under $20 at dick smiths (an electrical store). As long as your country's power supply is between 100 & 240 volts you won't require a voltage converter in order to plug this in and charge her up.

But a word of advice, If you do require either an adapter or a voltage converter go buy one the same day you place your order on Eden - not doing so leads to dreadful frustration when your sexy new toy arrives but you can't plug her in.

From the moment I first caught a glimpse of the ROAE I became fixated by it, It was like the holy grail of vibrators. Two strong motors, futuristic technology and high quality silicone all formed together into my dream dual stimulation vibrator.

My nightmare began with my power adapter issue, but worsened once I did get it charged up. The shaft was too long and the clit stimulator couldn't get anywhere near my clit, I almost cried!

I think just as with the somewhat comparable Lelo Ina, this is a toy that is either going to fit your anatomy... or it isn't. For those whom the Roae will fit, I'm jealous cause for the right person it's a powerhouse vibrator that is built of the highest quality materials and is luxury all the way.
