Previously, I've had an interesting array of experiences with male masturbators. After getting a couple that didn't work so well, I spoiled myself silly with two Fleshlights (arrived on the same day!). After a couple of months getting familiar with the Fleshlight I thought it might be fun to try something in a bit smaller form. I had always been amused by other Toy's Heart products, so when the Transfer Student became available for review, I ordered it on that whim. Though this toy is takes a different approach compared to the Fleshlight, it speaks to my sensibilities the sames, albeit in a different language.

The Transfer Student is constructed of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), a material that is also commonly used for vibrators, cock rings, and other sex toys. The material is phthalate-free and is fairly low on the odor scale. The material has almost no taste, only a slightly bitter sensation. The smell of the toy is light and is only noticeable when your nose is within a few inches. Unlike the offensive fake fruity smell of some masturbators, the Transfer Student smells just powdery with hints of cosmetics.

The material is soft and squishy, but not sticky. However, it is slightly oily on the outside, especially when first removed from its packaging. I found that a mild soap and warm water removed most of the oily feel. The outside is smooth but maintains a good grip due to the tack of the material.

The inside of the Transfer Student is complicated, to say the least. I would recommend taking a look at the pictures posted for the toy. The most significant aspects of the texturing are the nubs and the changing interior diameter. The interior is covered in nubs of varying size which provide a more intense stimulation compared to flat or rippled textures. Depending on where the head of the penis is inside the toy, you can control the intensity by focusing on stroking within the various zones. The general progression of tightness in the toy is going from fairly tight at the entrance, then widening a bit after about two inches, then opening up into a larger spherical chamber right at the end of the toy.

I enjoyed the sensations available when using the Transfer Student. Though you do need a firm erection to penetrate the entrance, I wouldn't consider this a negative, as the entrance has some of the most intense texturing, which wouldn't feel like much if you weren't erect. I like that the toy is narrow and short enough to hold securely in one hand. This makes insertion somewhat easier, since the other hand can be used to guide the penis into the entrance. However, I would say that the toy could use a little more length. At 5 inches of depth, I would prefer to have another 1-2 inches so that I could be fully inserted. As it was, about an inch of my shaft was feeling lonely while I was bottomed out. Fortunately the end of the toy is made thinner than the rest, so it stretches easily to allow you go all the way if you're longer than 5 inches.

Despite the length challenges of the Transfer Student, the smaller stature does make it easier to hide (especially when compared to a giant Fleshlight). Being about the size of a soda can, the toy could fit into a variety of corners if you need to keep it hidden. Though I would recommend against transporting the Transfer Student in its very colorful and attention-grabbing box, it would certainly travel easily in a quart-sized plastic bag. Though the toy does not have a realistic opening like some masturbators, a quick inspection of the opening would reveal the product's purpose; when traveling, this toy is probably best suited to checked bags.

Compared to my other masturbators, the feel of the Transfer Student is more akin to oral penetration than vaginal or anal. I think that the slightly harder nubs emulate the feel of the roof of the mouth and a firm tongue. This feeling is more pronounced in the first couple inches. As you go deeper into the toy, the chamber opens up and feels more like vaginal sex. The material warms up well and after a few minutes of stroking was pleasurably warm.

Because the Transfer Student is not vented, it has two styles of play available. First, you can penetrate normally without doing anything special. Alternatively, you can squeeze the air out of the toy before insertion. The latter method draws a partial vacuum and pulls the toy closer around the penis and provides suction. The sensation of each method is different and is fun to explore. Overall I would say the suction method is more intense, but the regular method allows pinpoint stimulation to the head of the penis, and is what I like to finish with.

As with most masturbators, the Transfer Student does make a bit of noise during use. A schlurp-schlurp-schlurp noise can be expected, though it's neither particularly loud nor bothersome. It's nothing low-volume music couldn't cover up and I wouldn't expect it to be heard through a closed door.

The TPE construction of the Transfer Student simplifies use and cleanup. Both water-based and silicone lubes are safe to use with TPE and, additionally, soap can be used to enhance cleaning (as opposed to the Fleshlight, where soap is not allowed). Please be aware, however, that TPE is somewhat porous and cannot be entirely sterilized. Unless you don't mind wearing a condom when you play, it's best not to share the Transfer Student. Prospective buyers should also be aware that since the toy only has one hole (the entry), cleanup is a little more tedious. I first flush well with warm water, then squirt in some dish soap and use a finger to make sure I get all the interior crevices clean. I repeat this process a couple times, then rinse and shake out the water. To help the interior dry, I also squirt a bit of 70% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) in then let it drain and dry. To prevent molding, I leave it out to dry for at least a day before I return it to a plastic zip top bag in the toy cabinet.

The packaging of the Transfer Student is a bit polarizing. It's a bit over the top in terms of color (fluorescent pink, yellow, etc), Japanese text (everywhere), and odd descriptions ('baby skin'?). With the exception of a cut-away diagram of the toy's interior, there isn't anything really explicit about the packaging, unless you count the cartoon schoolgirl whose breasts are disproportionately large and who is literally dripping with excitement. Since the box is large in comparison to the toy, I wouldn't recommend keeping the box around for storage. The paperboard is recyclable so I would toss it in the bin, unless you really like the excitement of the box. From what I could read, there didn't seem to be any usage instructions provided.

The Transfer Student also comes packaged with a sample of lubricant, mysteriously labeled "Vanessa & Co - Shape up Lotion". I'm not sure what's in the lube, but the description on website of Toy's Heart reveals that it is indeed "A professional type liquid for enjoying erotic and hard moments. Colorless professional type lotion that helps you slim down-a best seller." Despite the lack of any helpful info about the 'Shape up Lotion', the lube is medium-thick and works well. I would compare it to Maximus. For a wet treat, use the entire packet in one go.
