Since it is meant to go around both, it is a little more difficult to put on, in the fact that you can't be erect, but it is well worth it.

The Tantus cock ring is made out of their 100% medical grade ultra-premium silicone. Silicone is one of the safest materials on the toy market, and receives a 10 on Eden's material safety scale. When dry, the silicone does have some drag to it. It is smooth and finished except for one side of the ring, where it almost looks like it was separated from the mold or another ring. It is not uncomfortable, just noticeable while looking at it. You can push and pull on it to change its shape, but it does not really stretch much. It only stretches when you pull really really hard. It has a very faint smell to it, but I can only smell that when I have it under my nose. Since it is silicone, I would recommend using only water based lube during your play session, because silicone lube can cause the ring to become sticky. Given proper care, this cock ring should last you a very long time.

The shape is simply a 1 7/8 inch ring on the inside, with 1/4 inch thick sides. The ring itself is 3/4 of an inch wide. Because of this width, it does have a very different feel from the only other cock ring that went around my balls that I tried, the Gear Essentials Titan .4, which is a little larger than 3/8 of an inch wide. For wear when sitting down, it is slightly uncomfortable if you have your legs together. While standing up, besides the slight feel of the ring around your penis, it is not uncomfortable. For removal, it is easier to wait until your erection has subsided, or you can pop one ball back through at a time, then your penis.

Since the ring is made out of 100% silicone, it is non-porous. I personally clean with warm water and soap, but you can also clean the ring with a 10% bleach solution followed by rinsing it off, boiling it for 3 minutes, or throwing it in the top rack of the dishwasher without detergent. For storage, after I dry it off, I just place it in a toy bag with the rest of our silicone dildos. Since we keep it in a bag, lint and dust is not a factor. However, if you did leave it out, I'm sure it would collect a lot of lint and dust and would require a cleaning before use.

The ring came in a clear plastic clam shell case, with only two pieces of laminated paper inside. One is a small one at the bottom that states "Stay harder longer and enhance your orgasm." The other is a larger one that on the front says what the product is, and on the back it tells you what a cock ring does, how to wear it, and the different sizes they offer. It also tells you how to clean, and shows you with three pictures how to put the cock ring on. The packaging is also 100% recyclable, and I will be doing just that. If you would be gifting it, the packaging could easily fit in a stocking, since it is only about 8 1/2 inch tall, and 5 1/2 inches wide.

Since the other ring that I tried was not as wide as this Tantus cock ring, if I could order again, I would order the slightly larger beginner cock ring. It is not unwearable for me, but it is not as comfortable, especially for longer term wear.

I wore it sitting down at the computer for 30-45 minutes, but it was not as comfortable as the Gear Essentials ring. I blame this on it being 3/4 of an inch wide, which caused me to have to sit with my legs spread.
