1.75" nitrile ring - cock ring discontinued by PHS International - review by Research

The M2M nitrile cockring from PHS international is, like most other cockrings, designed to be fitted at the base of the penis to restrict blood flow and cause erections to be harder and last longer. Cockrings can also aid in temporarily increasing the sensitivity of the penis which can lead to better, stronger orgasms. Cockrings all tend to work on the same idea of putting pressure on a small part of the penis shaft to affect the blood flow but the M2M nitrile ring does so in a somewhat different way. While it's hard to see from the photo, the M2M ring is very thick. This thickness and extra size causes the pressure to be distributed over a larger surface area of the penis shaft leading to more comfortable wear.

If you find that you don't like the tightness or overall feeling of the standard cockring, the M2M would be a good choice as an alternate model. Make sure you know your measurements though, since nitrile doesn't stretch much you won't have much of a safety margin and it might not fit very well.

The ring material is Nitrile, the same stuff you find in safety gloves. Unlike gloves though, this doesn't stretch. It is food-grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous, and phthalates free. The texture of the nitrile is smooth and slides easily. Because it is a relatively stiff material, you won't be able to roll this ring down the penis like you can with more flexible cockrings. The large size of this ring is the reasoning behind having no texture. By making it so large, more of the material is in contact with the penis and provides the compression effect with little to no discomfort. To have texture over so much of the penis would undoubtedly be very uncomfortable.

The design of the M2M nitrile ring is good and except for being nearly four times the girth of most cockrings, it is a very basic design. The idea behind the ring was to combine the effects of two types of rings, silicone/nitrile rings and steel rings. Both have pros and cons. Let me break it down here:

Silicone/Nitrile rings:

-Comfortable
-Poor pressure
-Painful on hair

Steel rings:
-Rigid
-Heavy weight
-Very thick
-Excellent pressure
-Expensive

The idea behind the M2M ring was to take the weight, thickness, and pressure from the steel rings, and combine them with the comfort and flexibility of the silicone and nitrile rings. The result is a nitrile cockring that is very dense and very girthy.

As far as the fit goes, this is where it gets a little tough. The M2M ring comes in three sizes:

-1.5"
-1.75"
-2.0"

I received the 1.75" diameter model and was disappointed to find it was too large for me. I attempted to stretch it over my scrotum to achieve some extra pressure but was shocked when I discovered it took the bulk of my considerable strength to stretch the ring even a small amount. As I lay there with this ring stretched open just above my testicles and my arms quaking from the strain, I decided there were not a lot of ways this could go right and I gave up. If you are interested in getting a ring from this company, I recommend that you be very clear on your personal measurements before buying lest you become disappointed.

The nice thing about nitrile is that care-wise, we can treat it much like silicone. It is resistant to most chemicals and can be used with silicone, oil, and water based lubricants with no ill effects. I tried dipping it in several different purchased lubes I own as well as some popular homemade lubes such as Crisco and cooking oil. Nothing caused any ill effect. If we were to see more toys made of nitrile, we would have a bit less to worry about in our toyboxes.

The packaging left a bit to be desired in my opinion. The M2M stands for Man to Man and this line is marketed towards homosexual men. To that end, sitting prominently on the front of the blister pack is a well built man with a huge semi-flaccid penis draped over the edge of the cockring. Honestly I don't think it adds much, the design of the package is simple and appealing to the eye with its shape and muted color patterns. The photo seems thrown in at the last second and I don't care for it.
