I would say err on the side of caution: NEVER PICK IT UP WITH JUST ONE HAND - ALWAYS USE BOTH. Another thing: the only bed this thing is going to fit under is the TOP BUNK. Its shortest dimension is still 10 inches, so it wouldn't fit under any bed I've ever had.

My suggestion: take off the outer box (if you don't want to advertise) & leave the FMS-1, as I now call it, in the blank, contoured styrofoam container ON THE FLOOR. Use your imagination & visualize taking it off the overhead shelf - it weighs more than a bowling ball. The perfect owner would be someone who lives solo & is between relationships, or after an argument, if in one.

It is freestanding in multiple positions see pictures. Which reminds me, the channels meet & continue through, so keep that in mind before cleaning - in one position the front is downhill - in the other, it's the back.

FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS & BE CAREFUL WITH THE CONTAINER, you may need to use it too. Use water based lube & CLEAN it. It comes with samples for BOTH.

Considering the weight, something more sturdy than styrofoam would be a good idea. Even offering a container you could purchase, would be a good idea.
