This is the original basic handheld male masturbator by Fleshlight. No porn star names, nothing fancy, just a great masturbator. There are no vibrators, no batteries, and no moving parts. It is just the interior flesh tube, the outer hard cover, and the bottom and top lid. It is intended to be used by inserting the penis into it and then moving it up and down to masturbate the recipient. This toy will work for anyone who wants some variety in getting the guy off, whether that is the guy himself or his lover.

Let's start with the outside. It is a black hard plastic. The shape is supposed to look like a large black flashlight, so that you can store it on a bedside table or other place out in the open without it being obvious what it is. Because it is hard plastic, it is important that you keep your stroking hand at least reasonably lubricant free, otherwise it is difficult to hold whiling using it. The unit has two lids, top and bottom. The bottom (smaller) lid is important to learn to use, as it is the way that you add suction tightness to the unit by slightly unscrewing it to add more looseness or tightening it to make it tighter feeling by decreasing the amount of air that can escape. The top (larger) lid is simply to close the unit up for storing and to keep dust or other undesirable materials from getting inside it when not in use.
Now to the inside. The material is a soft pliable superskin that when lubricated is meant to simulate the vaginal tissues. It is smooth inside. However, when the penis is inserted and moved in and out, the soft material gives and takes in response that feel like ridges all over it that stroke the head and shaft of the penis when used. As mentioned above, you can adjust the tightness that you perceive around your penis by adjusting the bottom smaller lid to either let more or less air escape from the unit. If you fully open the lid, it is loose feeling, but pleasant. If you keep the bottom lid completely closed, very little air gets out and it feels tighter. Subjectively to me, the material is very pleasant feeling but does not come anywhere close to the feeling I perceive when inside my wife. That is not to say that the material does not work. It does get me off. However, I do not want anyone to believe that it is going to feel just like intercourse. It is a nice variation.

I bought this about a year ago while I was out of town on business. I have since used it occasionally. Overall it is a fun masturbator, and works well. It is very easy to use. Simply take off the top lid, pour in some water based lubricant, insert your penis, begin stroking and adjust the small lid to change the perceived tightness or looseness. You can vary that at any time. When finished, simply wash it out with warm soap and water and let it dry. Once it is completely dry, put both lids back on and put it away. If you want to actually remove the fleshy material to clean it more thoroughly it pops right out and goes back in easily as well.

I have three major observations about it having had it for some time. First, just like all the other Fleshlights, this unit is big and long. With extended play your hand(s) may get tired due to the girth around it. I have relatively small hands, so others may have a different experience, but I find that after about 10 minutes my hand gets fatigued. In fairness however, it is no harder to hold for playtime that other hard shell masturbators like the Tenga Air. Second, as this is the original Fleshlight, the texture of the material that surrounds your penis and strokes its tissue is not as fancy as some other male masturbators now available, including other Fleshlight models and the Tenga. As such, it does not have the variety of sensations that other masturbators now have. However, this is the cheapest model, and for someone who is new to male masturbators, or who just wants something basic but a step up from less expensive non-covered masturbators, this is fine. Again, it works for me every time. Third, it is noisy. This is true of all of the upper level male masturbators I have tried. In use it makes slurping sounds, and the harder you use it the louder the slurping sounds become. If you need to masturbate in silence do not get this out, use your hand. On the other hand (no pun intended) sex is supposed to be noisy, so if you are not going to disturb someone or get embarrassed by being caught due to the noise, it's lots of fun.

As noted above, the concept is that it looks like a flashlight when put away. However, it is not very discreet to me as it is bigger than any flashlight I have ever had in my home. I personally put it away when not in use. I have traveled with it. Because it has no metal parts it is not going to set off any metal detectors. However, I would not feel comfortable taking it through the airport security as the shape of it might be too tempting for the FAA. It is not at all heavy though, so it would be fine to put in your checked baggage for air travel.

This masturbator is very easy to master. Unlike a vibrator, there are no controls, buttons, dials, or other things to adjust other than the lid that adjusts the air that is permitted to escape to control how tight you perceive the interior. I am sure that Fleshlight's later models are more advanced as to the tissue complexity for the feelings, but this basic model works fine for me. I have never tried using it in the shower, so I cannot comment on whether it would work well or not there. However, since you have to use water based lubricant to keep from breaking down the materials on the inside, you would need to put the lubricant inside the Fleshlight and keep the bath or shower water from getting in there to use it in this way.

Care and maintenance is super easy with the Fleshlight. When you are finished, simply open up both ends, let warm water run through it, then lightly wash it with soap and water, then rinse. You then let it dry before putting the lids back on. I personally like to take a clean hand towel and pat it dry, then sit it with the large lid side down, but on top of something to keep air flowing freely through it, in order to let any remaining moisture drip out. Once it is dry I simply put it away in a drawer until I want it again. Since there are no batteries or other power necessary, it is always ready. Fleshlight says to only use water based lubes.

The Fleshlights come in a can that clearly shows and says what they are. There is nothing discreet about the packaging. Once you open the can, the Fleshlight is wrapped in plastic to keep it clean prior to first usage. It comes with a very basic set of instructions. The instructions give you all the essential information though, as they cover the small bottom lid adjustment for pressure, cleaning instructions, and a warning not to use anything other than water based lubricants. I suppose that the package could be used for storage, but not unless you want everyone to know you have a Fleshlight.

We have both enjoyed using the Fleshlight on me. My wife sometimes likes to use it on me for a variation rather than using her hands or mouth. For solo play, as long as I have time and the privacy to use it due to the need for clean up and the noise factor, it is a nice basic masturbator toy, and does its job very well.
