Golden Egg with a Secret

If you're willing to shell for an amazing disposable experience, the Tenga Egg is your best bet. It feels great and makes for an easy cleanup. If you're looking for something longer lasting, save up and get a Flip Hole. Either way you won't be disappointed.

Pros:
Feels great, easy cleanup, disposability, beautiful discreet packaging, travel suited.

Use

I had the pleasure of reviewing this toy when I bought three of them in a rush to see what all the fuss was about. While it is probably intended for solo play, it was a lot of fun to have my partner use it on me.

Simply unwrap the egg from its protective plastic film. Crack it open and you will find a soft silicone egg, with a gorgeous texture on the inside. I got the clicker, stepper, and spider textures. Inside is also a little foil packet where you will find lube. Open the packet, empty it into the egg, and you're ready to play. Ingenious? I think so. Hold it in your hand, stick it in, and you're ready to play.

There's not really much this toy can do apart from stimulating the penis. So I wouldn't use it for anything else, but it was great for that.

Material / Texture

The material was odorless and so was the lube. Great so far as I've experienced many awful male toys with terrible smells. The material is silicone and the texture is made up of very raised dots (I'm specifically talking about the clicker pictured here) which adds very heavily to the stimulation. It was perfect, and although it felt nothing like a real vagina, it was an interesting futuristic texture that I could get used to.
It's very soft and usable by beginners and toy experts alike.

    • No odor

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

I absolutely love the design, like I do on most of Tenga's toys. The shape worked perfectly well for me, although admittedly the size was a bit small. The toy did feel a bit tight, but that's not unusual for non-localized Tenga products. It's probably a decent to tight fit for the average user. The toy is very easy to hide (being the size of an egg) and very discreet (the packaging, if not read, hides a great secret). It's also very suitable for travel, and is possibly designed for such as it's a disposable toy.

I found that if I rinsed it out, I could get more uses out of it. Although it is designed to be used only once.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The clicker texture was my favorite of the three textures I tried. The stepper was okay, and the spider texture was barely textured at all. I couldn't feel it very much.

The clicker texture was very powerfully stimulating, and I will be ordering more of these for when I need them. However, it is a fairly noisy toy, so try to be a little discreet when using it.
    • Easy to use
    • Very stimulating

Care and Maintenance

The beauty of disposability? No cleanup! Just throw everything out and you're good. However, I've found that if you rinse the egg out, you can use it again a few times, before the silicone is too weak. Store it anywhere cool and dry in the wrapper, and you should be good to go when you need it. Its tiny form factor makes it very easy to hide.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
    • Low maintenance

Packaging

The toy is packaged in an egg-like structure with plastic foil covering the outside. Open the outer foil, and inside there is a plastic hard shell egg. Open that, and you have your toy and the lube. Instructions are provided on the lube packet and the outer egg foil. Although they are essentially just pictures, it's more than enough to get you started. The toy isn't really reusable, so storage shouldn't be an issue.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal

Personal comments

Try it with a partner if you're daring enough.
Follow-up commentary
I've bought four of these since I reviewed it. I think that speaks for itself. On lonely business trips, nothing else does it better. For the price point (which is a little steep, admittedly) it's an excellent toy. Definitely recommend it if you haven't got a problem with a disposable toy for that price.

Thanks for the great review and for comparing the three different textures.

My boyfriend loves Tenga products, they're just so great I was curious to find out which your favourite texture was, but I wasn't too surprised that it was the clicker, I've heard good things about that one. And the spider does look pretty subtle, yeah. Thanks for the review!

whoops. meant to put this under a different topic!
    • From what I've seen, the general consensus is that the Tenga Eggs are pretty nice for the price (rhyme not intended, haha!). A lot of people recommend them to guys as first-time strokers, since they're cheap and disposable.

Before asking questions like this in the forum, though, read a few of the reviews. I find that it's usually helpful to read at least one from someone who really liked it and one from someone who didn't, so you can get an idea from both sides. :)

  • tenga+strap-on?
    • I don't know why, but I keep fantasizing about jerking off my strap-on/hard pack cock with a tenga egg. I feel kinda ridiculous about it but WHY NOT POST IT ON HERE (oh god my tumblr is showing)

I know some of y'all have talked about getting head on your strap-on...but this just seems a little weird. I have had fun jerking off my strap-on cock every once and a while too..

Has anybody had similar ideas/experiences? It's kinda the psychological aspect, like with getting head, I guess?

(And so it wouldn't be a waste, I'd give it to my partner to use after I've had my fun, seeing as I'm not gonna cum in it...)
    • I wouldn't mind it, I'd probably like it more if my partner was the one playing with it for me though haha.
    • Actually I have a couple different Feeldoes, and I have thought about using our Egg on it as well. Then I reember there are better ways to get an orgasm from my Feeldoe, but eventually the need to try it will override my need for a quicker orgasm. I'll report back once I try it ;)

  • Fleshlight
    • How does it compare to the fleshlight feeling?
    • Alan says there's no comparison; Tenga egg is more like an enhanced hand job, but the right Fleshlight is like "gettin some strange" (his words, not mine.. LOL)

i like fleshlight feeling better, but fleshlight is way too big for travel. So if you are gone for a trip, tenga egg is a way to go!

  • Tenga Eggs and Foreskin?
    • So I'm curious because I'd love to get my boyfriend one of these. He is not circumcised, meaning he has his foreskin (thank goodness :D ) but that makes we wonder how well these would work for him. See the reason I ask is because his foreskin occasionally will get caught or pinched in a condom, and I know those are significantly tighter, but I'd hate to buy him something that ends up being uncomfortable.

Any uncut guys have experience with these toys and can give me some insight?
    • I hate bumping my own posts but I'm looking for an answer ASAP... I'd like to place my order for other things tonight, and it'd be great to tack this onto the order rather than buying it separately and paying separate shipping.
    • Sorry I'm late.

My Master is also uncut and I got him a couple of Tenga eggs over the past few months. He says they're really enjoyable and they don't hurt. I do rec that your boyfriend uses lube with it, though.

  • Where have all the Tenga Eggs gone?
    • I'm not sure if I keep missing when these come back in stock and they just get bought up really fast or if they just aren't ordering any more. But My partner adores these eggs and would really like to try the Sparkle or Twinkle. However I've never seen them available. Anyone know what is going on with this?
    • I believe that the Tenga Sparkle and Twinkle were 2010 seasonal limited edition, so EF may not be able to get them in stock again at all. Perhaps you can file a support ticket, though, and inquire as to whether or not they will ever return to stock.

:( I have been wondering why those are always out of stock myself. I really want to get one of both Twinkle and Sparkle for my SO, but I have yet to see them stocked myself.

  • Tenga Egg Material
    • I know EF has the eggs listed as being silicone but I wondered if anyone has actually flame tested one of these cute little guys.

Reason I ask is because I went searching the tenga website when someone (and I cannot for the life of me remember who) wrote a review and were unsure of the egg lotion being water or silicone based.

When I stumbled onto the tenga canada site and saw the specs for the egg it said there they are actually made of Elastomer.

So has anyone taken science into their own hands about these little suckers?
    • Hmmm very interesting indeed...

We've never used one of the eggs, but I'm very interested in knowing the answer to this. Not that it would make a super huge difference simply because they're so cheap and disposable.. I wouldn't mind if it was Elastomer as opposed to silicone. I'm still gonna get one :)
    • Oh for sure. It just would make a whole lot more sense right. Like why it is so disposable, why it does not seem to matter what lube you use.

  • Single use?
    • I'm wondering exactly why these are only single-use. I've read most of the reviews, but still do not understand exactly why (I would have commented, I just wanted to make a general discussion). Since it's silicone, shouldn't it be..? Or is it a really low-grade or soft silicone or something?

      Thank you!

      Hi Sir!

We have one and we've only used it once so far, but the top of the egg appears to be thinning, like it will break with one or two more uses. I think it is the grade of silicone, however, I really do think they can last more than one use. Many people I know who use them get at least a few uses out of them.
    • Glad someone posted on these because I'm infinitely curious about them. I hope someone does a video because I still can't get a good idea of how these work just by looking at/reading about them.
